Holy freaking crap how did I miss this thread. Nice job, man  nice job what an inspiration. You must, must post some tutorials. I've been wanting to do a kind of 'vampire lords' themed blood angels army to replace my current one...this thread will produce much inspiration.

Easily the best NL army I have seen in a long while. Maybe I missed it, but I have a couple questions on the colors. Is the blue simply a Kantor blue with a black ink on it + highlights? What is the metal color on the rims of the pads? I have been looking at it and cannot place it.

@redhorse:

Thanks man, I'll probably post some tutorials up after I get some more paint down, gotta use this army in an upcoming campaign so there's a time crunch right now. I've definitely though about applying some of the stuff I've learned to creating vampiric blood angels, the flayed skin and fluted armor really come to mind.

@Galron:

Thanks! For the colors I use mostly the Vallejo range of paints, both game color and model air. For the blue I use a 15:1 mix of VMA French Blue and Game Color Black, followed by a nuln oil wash then highlights with Game Color Magic Blue. The metal is Runelord Brass from the GW range.

@tomfoolery:

Thanks man, hope you're staying safe from the floods out there in CO.

Welcome brothers and sisters of the Night! It's that time again...

The Atramentar 2.0 project has finally entered the paint ready stage! Got the combi-plasmas in today, after which I promptly proceeded to turn around, crank up the Disturbed, and get to work. I added chainmail to the other arms, scraped off the shiny loyalist markings on their pretty guns, added spikes, trophies and all the trappings that champions of the VIII Legion deserve. Here they are:

Atramentar, 15th Company, VIII Legion Astartes.

These guys have really been a labor of love, probably a cumulative month of work all told. Though when it comes to Atramentar, one really has to go the extra mile. The way they're built up in the novels they just drip personality and menace. Each one is a champion of centuries of combat and warfare, draped in the trophies and trappings of true combat veterans. They are like a pack of lions only held together by the threat and strength of the one predator deadly enough to keep them in line, Captain Hashec Tor.

C&C much appreciated as always!

Ave Dominus Nox!

I've always wanted to do an army with a lot of conversions and stuff, but I just never could make it happen. I'm envious, brother. You have succeeded where I have failed time and again.

@Brother Chaplain Kage:

Thanks man! I have faith in your White Scars project though. You inspired me to go read up on that legion for the first time since I've started this hobby and I got so motivated about them I damn near built a White Scar myself. You should have no problem staying motivated about that awesome and, in my opinion, underrated chapter.

@Jaspcat:

Oh man I can't wait to see what you come up with, you've had an excellent World Eaters army so far, can't wait to see your next project. Everyone's skill always increases army to army so I know yours will be no different!

@Mikhail:

Thanks brother! Glad you like the chainmail, I'll get up with you about sculpting some pieces for molds.

@Firepower:

Thanks man, the right tools make all the difference.

@Biohazard:

Thanks! Primer-ing them as we speak.

@DarkVen:

Should start painting them today, don't worry, fluff will accompany the finished project as usual.

@Balthamal:

Sadly he's not for sale, though if you provide the bits I'll be more than happy to make a copy for you, if you're interested just get up with me via PM.

@Brother Pheidias:

Thanks man, it's really going to be difficult removing any one of them as a casualty :(

@ElDuderino:

Thanks man, that'd be awesome, but as we all know GW hates chaos, so its up to us hobbyists to correct their mistake ;)

@Tellos05:

Part of the ship, part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew... ;)

@Greyall:

Haha thanks man, I've been thinking about commissioning a rendition of Hashec Tor from you one of these days, though I'm sure you're a busy dude.

@Kierdale:

Thanks man, had to corrupt those nice loyalist weapons, far too pretty for the VIII Legion.

@Brother Chaplain Kage:

I'd like to see your take on a White Scar, tbh. I also hope I can stay motivated at finish this thing. :)

@Brother Chaplain Kage:

I really want to do a one-off White Scar, some of their artwork is fantastic. I had this concept for a captain standing on a rock or something with the head of a severed foe in one hand and a Psyber Eagle perched on the other with his glorious mustache flowing in the wind lol.

@Tellos05:

Sevatar is one of my back-burner projects right now, but rest assured he will get done. Gotta make sure I do the Prince of Crows justice. He'll probably get done when I start my Heresy Night Lords.

@Darth Potato:

Thanks man! No worries, if your first couple models are anything to go by, those Ultramarines are gonna be equally awesome.

@T0MMY:

Thanks man, every comment helps motivate me further :)

@Dan the Deamon:

Thank you, seriously, your army was a huge source of motivation for me, I have your old thread bookmarked as a constant reference to check if my guys are mean, spikey, and brutal enough :) Really hoping you come back to us man, we miss your awesome work!

Don't Inflate his ego too much ;)

Heinrich my brother I must tell your wife that sadly that an Australian is holding you for ransom and she can have you back once you help me tackle an army.

And if she doesn't pay my ransom of dr pepper Mountain Dew and Doritos we is going to have problems :S

Just remember ill always have wings ribs and chilli dogs awaiting in the land of Oz

I'd like to see that.

Oh, is this the first confirmation of you joining the Great Crusade, or did I miss it elsewhere?
