Let The Galaxy Burn! Balefire Legion: 40k again!

I think there's one important question/consideration I would like to throw out there: Will your Abaddon actually be Abaddon, or will he be an original character that just happens to be using Abaddon's rules? I think either option has its advantages and disadvantages, but deciding on one of these approaches beforehand will probably improve the model:

 

• building an updated version of Abby could be a very cool challenge, because you'll need to get enough visual cues right that people go: "Oh, that's Abaddon, no question about that!"
• On the other hand, inventing your own character (using Abbadon's rules) would turn the Balefire Legion more into its own thing, and not just a BL warband with a fancy lighting effect ;) Plus you could really go all out and create a fantastic, original chaos lord, while also incorporating some of Abby's trademark elements (like the huge claw and daemon weapon).

my plan is to canibalice the abbadon model and add new parts to make a worthy model for the legion

i like the details ill see what ill be able to use, not sure about the head but prolly topknot and such and the head i got from you was intended to be the head of my abbadon ;)

I promiced that i would show some more wip chaos knight pic's, i know some been eager for an update on it.

but there is much more to do needs more highlights and glow and runes and whatnots

i finally finished building my 4th obliterator he is armed with lascannon twin melta twin flamer and heawy flmer, just need to base it and paint it up for the tournament next month

there it is, spent most of my warhammer time today building that and working on the torso of abbadon and his base,

the base will be a two part base magnetized a 40mm base termi base that slots into a bigger base thats on a 60mm base a dreadnought base, hopefully it will look cool

i killed a cupple of bases for it cutting of the edge so the model can slide into place, i used bases so the plastic would be black, so if paint is scaped off from use it wont show, so base it cork then added a bit of plastic card for details also sunk in some bits of plastic where i added magnets, my plan is then to add further layer so when inserted the basing of abbadon will be level eith the bigger base.

next step is placing a base in and a magnet ontop of the mounted magnets thrn put on greystuff so it will make a removable magnetized part then rside the othrr dofe then fo battlefield basing on it that hopefully will part seamlessly with deftsted blood angels
