Looking good. I like how you combine the two symbols so successfully.

Keep up the good work.

Dallo

thanks Dallo, i think the combination works pretty well.

another update on the knight base again, im in the middle of painting the new bits and sand i added to the base, so i like to hear what you guys think, especally you Forte, is it enough? dose it look good?

It is looking good. Damn, that's going to be a cool base, assuming you're going to make all the non-bitsy, sandy parts the same earthen colour (because right now there's grey, white and black sandy parts, which make it just a tiny bit crowded). That Knight should be proud to stand on the devastation it has wrought!

hehe i know augustus, i sorta had the base all done, but the feedback i got was it was too clean and needed more debri, so now on the picture i just glued on more bits and sand and was mid painting the new spots black

Try some Nuln Oil round the edges of those black parts. Is the sand parts more being used as concrete dust (as in still needs painting?).

One little thing I find helps with my basing is to think about why something is where it is and how it got there. Helps me decide if I need more or less of something. Also thinking about the material and what damaged it helps too (yes, I do way too much thinking).

I love that freehand on the shoulder pad!

thanks duderino you should see the other one too :)

the new sand bits needs painting and the new debree bits too, also think ill wash the entire base down to darken it a bit but not sure.

I'd actually try to go for one colour for the sand and the 'regular' base - this would tie everything together. You could then differentiate between the different 'sources' of the sandy debris with weahtering powders or washes.

Do with this what you want, btw. It's your model and if you like it then go with that for sure. :)

IMHO single coloured backgrounds can be a little dull - yet those backgrounds Forte provided can really make your stuff come to life. :) Admittedly I used both black and white in the past, but I'm not going back to them since I found those awesome multicoloured ones.
