:cuss the Storm Eagle guys. I don't think a models has ever given me this much of a headache. From assembly to paint, this thing has been a disaster. Right now, it's the monkey on my back that's prevented me from getting a lot of painting done on anything else. In the end, I said :cuss it and decided to try and just finish it, no matter the result. It looks barely tabletop worthy. but I'm almost done, and I feel so much better. wallbash.gif I swear if the Fire Raptor is this bad I may kill myself.

You could always go really heavy on the weathering and have it be a surviving gunship from Calth.  I think yours looks pretty good but your complaints about the kit and others are one of the reasons that I haven't picked one up yet myself.  I really want a Stormeagle and a Fireraptor but I'll be damned if I'm pulling my hair out assembling a kit.

Weren't you working on some Carcharodons a while ago?  What ever happened to that project?

Yeah, It's kinda what I'm thinking right now.

Regarding the Carcharadons, I found I had a hard time getting into the mindset of them, and ended up reusing a lot of the stuff in my Ultramarines

I follow your meaning, if you have any spare Chain Axes that you'd like to trade out for more "noble" weapons let me know.  I have some Rampagers that would look great with Chain Axes and some Beastman parts as well.  I'm sure that my Forge can turn out the weaponry you need.

Negative dude, I ended up using the ones you sent. And the debacle with Resin forge ensured I never recieved more, or my transfers

That clown owes us all some bits I'm sure. I'm well beyond it now except the Contemptor arm he owes me. I'll find the chain axes I need as well as the beastmen bits somewhere else, thanks though. Jasp, I have more Rampager parts than I'll ever use, thanks though.

From "Mark of Calth"
“I expected to die that day. But I didn’t. I was spared. But a lot of good men died that die. People say I’m a hero. I always deny it. I served with real heroes, the guys who gave it all for each other.”

CPT. Rickard Wentars

How did you Keep fighting?

“We know the Ultramarines were still in the fight. They gave us hope.”

L
ieutenant Wenters didn’t know why
the Word Bearers had turned on their allies. He had no idea of the Daemonic
pacts made with literal Chaos, or how truly tainted the Word Bearers had
become. He would not find this out till much, much later.  All he knew was that the XVII legionaries had
turned on his company, and were doing they’re damndest to wipe he and his men
out. He flattened himself against the smoking APC beside him as the thud of
Bolters joined the rattle of autogun fire. Wenters leaned out, his once
cerulean blue armor now a gritty, pockmarked disaster.  His own las gun snapped with each shot,
dropping the mismatched forms of Cultists who surged forward.

He turned to Jenkins, his radioman hunched over the bulky

F-11 “Herald” pattern vox caster.
“Jenki, please tell me you’ve got command on the line? We’re about to be
overrun. The civilians still need evac as- oh :cuss!”

A wild RPG slammed into his squad’s position,

turning about half his squad into chunks of gore, and flinging the man to the
ground. Wenters looked up and his heart sunk. Advancing towards them were 5
Word Bearers, crimson armor coated in glinting core, nad inscribed with Runes
that made Wenters sick to his Stomach.
He crawled to his radioman, blood oozing from his nose and ears, head
ringing.

“Jenkins, Jenk. Get. Get command on

the line. We need support. We’re dying out here. Jenkins?” He looked aagain and
stumbled back as he realized Jenkins face had been blown out the back of his
skull, leaving a gaping crater in it’s place. Unscathed by the grenades, his
Autocannon team was vomiting shells down field, and managed to drop one Marine
to his knees. Wenters beckoned for the two to fall back, only to have the
loader wave him off, relentlessly slaying two of the brooding behemoths.

He smiled. “Nice! Keep it up, and
maybe-“He paused, as a whistling sound began to pick up. And then the two
troopers were gone, crushed by the weight of the rapidly cooling terminator
crouched in their gore. It stood to its full height, black oil dripping down
its flanks and sizzling on the glowing talons quivering on its hands.

Rickard screamed and fired his las

gun, praying to whatever god would listen that it succeed.  The Cataphractii surged forward, the stacked
paltes grinding as the beast lumbered towards the Wenters. He kept his finger
depressed, barrels flashing, and barely even chipping the paint of the
Astartes, when it’s head exploded in a fountain of gore. Rickard turned and saw
perched atop the roof, a Cerulean giant, crested helm glinting in the weakened
sun of Calth. Four more Ultramarines had pushed forward, bolters decimating the
three remaining Word Bearers, the shots crumpling helmets or knee joints, crippling
the traitors.  One turned to him, the
Gold face plate expressionless as fire danced along its golden surface.

On your feet. We have a war to win.”

The Seeker squad of the 129th is composed of the Companies best Marksmen and trackers, and are allowed quite a bit of leeway in their persecution of mission parameters. During the Calth Betrayal, Strike Team Polynikes deployed outside the siege zone, aiding in civilian evacuation and covering Imperial Army survivors.

+++Seeker Cato[ Survived//Veteran//]+++

Seeker Cato was the only other survivor of the Strike team Talassar city due to escort duty during the battle. The Lord Primarch himself offered Cato Evocati status, but was declined. He would fall later during the rescue of VII Legion forces.(See "Iron Cage")

"No man should be honored for doing what is expected of him."

-Cato Varoltus, upon declining Evocati status

I like it, man. The song really adds some desperation to it and makes for a sad sad piece. My only real criticism is using the word 'hamburger'... Just seems kind of off to me in 40k writing.

The finished Seeker squad look pretty top notch too. Keep on practicing that free handing, mate.

Thanks man. I got rid of Hamburger as you suggested

Hamburger just makes me hungry. I think I'm going to make some...

Oh, lovely piece by the way.

And that blue and gold, you did something with those. msn-wink.gif

Appreciate it. Not sure what you mean about the Blue and Gold though?
