Warhead01
I own 3 Valkyries and 3 Vendettas Iv'e used maybe 3 at the most and hardly ever used them at all. (Just a few times last edition) I want to blame all the Commissar lord and 2 vet squad lists. I have never liked the idea of playing guard without playing guard. I know some players like it. But I think that thought process has hurt our hobby quite a lot. A ?subculture? of players that seem to just look for the easy button builds. But I guess that's the way of the world now. The only squad I would transport if these rumors are true would be Special Weapons teams. But I haven't heard anything about them staying or going. With as much AA that's available raising points costs seems silly. These aren't enough "negative" rumors to stop my current level of excitement about the new codex. With luck the Chimeras cost will go down to encourage sales! And their would be no down side to that for me! Nicodemus Doloroso
I think the "easy button" chimeltavet spam and vendetta vet spam players deserve the blame you want to level at them. And its because of them that I am in favour of a 40 pt price increase for a Vendetta. They are just way too cheap at their current price. No good deed goes unpunished as the saying goes, so when GW gives us a good rule book with lots of flexibility it gets abused. I hope that they don't cut back too much. So far what I'm hearing leads me to believe that the new codex will still be solid. I am interested to see if Hydras get a price change or any rules change. It looks pretty open topped now, but we'll have to see. Kierdale
Sad to say I also read the rumour that Marbo will not be in the C:AM codex. I seriously hope he is brought back as a data slate! Nicodemus Doloroso
Sad to say I also read the rumour that Marbo will not be in the C:AM codex. I seriously hope he is brought back as a data slate! I could see them bringing him back in a Catachan data slate. I'll be sad to see all the special characters who we were specifically allowed/encouraged to give our own names/looks and incorporate into our regiments go away. I have my own versions of Marbo, Straken, and Bastonne. WarriorFish
6 model transport for Guard? May as well keep it the same cost and scrap the transport capacity, would make much more sense. I hope it's not true, but GW have mastered the art of knee-jerk reactions... belated ones :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279538-cig-rumours/page/22/#findComment-3643183 Share on other sites
Jolemai
Apparently, Marbo is gone from the new book. Clicky Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279538-cig-rumours/page/22/#findComment-3643223 Share on other sites
Heru
I'm surprised to see Marbo go. I wouldnt be surprised to see Bastonne go though, unless they give him a model. Idlem
I don't think I've ever used Bastonne for more than a game or two. Won't be missed by me. Marbo was always something fun and I'll be sad for his loss if the rumors are true. Then again, he's usually reduced to a pile of squishy guts after one round so maybe this absence will make a dataslate with a bit more survivability? Nicodemus Doloroso
I don't really know what they could do to make him more survivable though. He's a lone human, no matter how bad ass. Even Chuck Norris would be T 3 but I guess he'd have a 2++ rerollable of awesomeness ... but Marbo isn't Chuck Norris. Castellan Cato
Codex preorders are up! scatmandoo
Have a look at the preview pages on the black library for the new codex. Some interesting insight to some units plus if you download the preview there is more info on there. Roughriders are in still and armoured sentinels are cheaper. Cpt_Reaper
Looking at the product list: - Harker is in HQ? - Marbo is still in elites - stormtroopers not in elites make of that what you will Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279538-cig-rumours/page/22/#findComment-3643586 Share on other sites

librisrouge
I predict that will be the case sadly. At least it justifies the money I spent on the book. I'm glad to see Rough Riders are still around and Hunting Lances didn't chance much. I do hope they get a price break though. Too expensive for overwatch and T3. Kierdale
I don't think the product pages mean that much right now. Harker's, Al'rahem and others have been on the HQ page for months. The engineers are a recent move to the Elites page though. I expect the product page will be renewed next weekend. The Taurox, for one, is not on the product pages and yet is available to AM. I've got my fingers crossed Scions will be on our Elite page. Heru
Wait isn't the Cadian Armoured Fist actually a bundle in which you save money... Chimera = £22.50 Cadian Shock Troops = £18 = £40.50 Cadian Armoured Fist = £35 Saving = £5.50... That isn't like GW. Kierdale
That is a pretty good deal. Latest scuttlebutt off Faeit (via a Spanish translation) has the codex units as: via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 Astropath Colonel 'Iron Hand' Straken Colour Sergeant Kill Commissar Commissar Prime Commissar Yarrick Company Commander Enginseer Knight Commander Pask Lord Castellan Creed Master of Ordinance Ministorum Priest Nork Deddog Officer of the Fleet Primaris Psyker Servitor Tank Commander Veteran Tropas Conscript Guardia Imperial Heavy Weapons Team Platoon Commander Sergeant Harker Veteran Transportes Asignados Chimera Taurox Taurox Prime Elite Bullgryn Ogryn Ratling Tempestor Tempestor Prime Tempestus Scion Wyrdvane Psyker Ataque Rapido Rough Rider Armoured Sentinel Bane Wolf Devil Dog HellHound Scout Sentinel Valkyrie Vendetta Basilisk Deathstrike Hydra Leman Russ Battle Tank, Exterminator, Vanquisher, Eradicator, Demolisher, Punisher, Executioner Manticore Wyvern Gone are Marbo, Al'rahem, the Medusa, Griffon and Colossus? :(I know the Med and Griff are in IA Vol.1 2nd ed., but the colossus is not, yes? I can only pray that it is incorrect. I really wanted my Colossi...perhaps I'll have to go with massed Wyverns and pray the enemy fails enough armour saves. Plague Angel
Wait isn't the Cadian Armoured Fist actually a bundle in which you save money... Chimera = £22.50 Cadian Shock Troops = £18 = £40.50 Cadian Armoured Fist = £35 Saving = £5.50... That isn't like GW. It's similar to the Reclusiam Command Squad, which is similarly a little value. Razorback is $41.25 Command Squad is $35.00 Chaplain is exclusive to the kit, but is similar to the clampacks which are all about $22.50 Which comes out to $98.25, while the combined box is only $90. I hope every army gets these little transport boxes, they save a bit in the long run for both ends. WarriorFish
Hmm. Well that isn't too unexpected - units without models getting the chop. Good to see Rough Riders staying, albeit only because they have (ancient) models... I hope that funny entry in Elites is the PBS staying! I'm disappointed Al'rahem is gone, but given his special order became universal that was a pretty big indicator of his fate :( I'm assuming the "Prime" just the Spanish version of "Lord Commissar"? It all comes down to how the codex works now - Emprah be kind and give us the strength to slap the big boys around!! Nicodemus Doloroso
I noticed a lack of a Penal Legion. I know most people weren't fans but they were a fun unit and there were lots of great conversions out there. Plus I made two squads of them who are do clearly penal legion I can't use them otherwise :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279538-cig-rumours/page/22/#findComment-3643946 Share on other sites

"Sadly" the Colossus is in IA 1 V2 under Bombard Colossus. We will have to rely on forge world sorting that one out. Although I understand how you feel I really want FW to just make it the bombard again. I plan to pick up 3 Wyvern. They are heavy 2? I never did read the range of their mortar. I wouldn't pray for them to fail their saves, I would just rely on volume to insure it happens. Ammonius
Ouch. Fewer choices in the main codex for an artillery regiment makes me a little unhappy, but as has been said, FW covers the rest. I am definitely in the "Colossus, please" camp. +++ Oh well, the positive spin is that if I spend fewer points on different artillery tanks then I can have bigger fortifications, or field my Warhound, Hellhammer or a Knight more often :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279538-cig-rumours/page/22/#findComment-3644003 Share on other sites
