Forté
Nicely done so far. :tu: If you ever run out of Citadel's Averland Sunset, a good alternative is Vallejo's Heavy Opaque Yellow. I'm guessing the Vallejo one is more yellow than Averland. Though I reckon there's more chance this pot will dry out before I finish it knowing my painting record. Forté
You're not going to believe this but... I've started painting... Crimson Fists! Sorry. Have to blame a few mates who've decided we're all going to have some games in the summer. Still have oils to add. Do need to find a UK based decals/transfer seller, if there is one. If not I've found a source if it comes to it. Forté
I made a pledge and actually go started painting. Now, I haven't really batch painted more than 10 minis in one go in my whole life. So this is a first and I'm trying to keep the steps to a minimum rather than getting fussy with it all. Session 1: Started with everything primed black. Yup, all 18 minis (which is a lot for me as I rarely do more that 1 at a time these days). Pulled out the old large tank brush and went: 1. GWB Nightlords Blue 2. GWB Kantor Blue 3. VMC Royal Blue Metals all picked out in old GW Boltgun Metal. Red hands and Captain cloak in old GW Mechandrite Red. Session 2: Pouches in old GW Scorched Brown, Crux in VMC Basalt Grey, Weapon cases in P3 Coal Black, Eyes, joints, pipes in old GW Shadow Grey, Vallejo gloss varnish on places where I'll add transfers. So next up is a transfer session. All over gloss before oil washing. And so on. Wish me luck please LameBeard, Soldier of Dorn, Firedrake Cordova and 3 others 6 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282983-fort%C3%A9s-creations-started-crimson-fists-pg-67/page/67/#findComment-5980045 Share on other sites

Forté
Decals on (if slightly wrinkled). Whoever decided that it's a great to put large markings on curved surfaces obviously hates people. Anyway... ready for gloss spraying in prep for oils washes. Goal is to get these ready for gaming this weekend. Yup... I'll be playing 40k 10th, and likely taking all these off the table by turn 3! tinpact, Firedrake Cordova, ZeroWolf and 1 other 3 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282983-fort%C3%A9s-creations-started-crimson-fists-pg-67/page/67/#findComment-5981098 Share on other sites
ZeroWolf
To be fair, that'll probably only happen if you play Eldar, otherwise those terminators will hit like a freightliner. Painting is looking good Many thanks. No Eldar but there are Knights and possibly a Stompa. In other news... Gloss coat... done! Messy oil wash... done! Clean up and maybe matt coat tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Forté
Erm... I think having a weekend of gaming ahead of me really pushed me on. I've actually finished those Will take better photos and other angles another day. Really pleased at having a little more than a Combat Patrol all uniformly painted. Might not be the standard that I usually try to push for (then again I usually only paint one thing with display in mind), but I'm happy with how these all look together. Might get others painted up to go with, if I'm not completely destroyed on the table this weekend. And I need to resist the urge to refine bits on these. Worryingly, I know another has Knights, but we're doing Combat Patrol and some 700 point games on Saturday. Then a doubles, 2000 points each on Sunday. I think my brain might be frazzled after all that. Pearson73
Surprised to see you turning to the Fists! Regardless, the runes on the Libarian are really excellently done. The dusty weathering coming up from the bases is well executed too. My first ever Space Marines (the RBT01 box) I painted as the cover chapter because the art was incredible. My painting then, when I was about 11... not so good. I'm still stunned that I managed to paint them within 10 days. Also used them in 4 games of 10th at the weekend. 3 at 700 points and another teamed up with Death Guard against Orks and Necrons with 5000 points a side! Was great fun, though I feel that the Librarian will be dropped from lists. Didn't really do anything in the first 3 games.
