What 2014 will bring

Skytyrant Swarm- Hive Tyrant gaints 6" synapse, and the gargoyles can look out sir on a 2+. The tyrant and gargoyles are a single unit.

This is going to be a headache.

R

Oh hell. That's gonna be fun. But then, I've never had much success with denying synapse. The LO,S is going to be the really annoying part, I fear.

...but that's why Sanguinius invented Drop-Podding Frag Cannon Dreads. "Gets rid of the chaff in seconds, or your money back!" The good thing here is that they are all normal infantry with wings, not a Swooping unit, so normal BS to-hit.

If this is the formation i'm thinking of, I played it last week in a casual game...  The issue isn't with killing the gargoyles, they die fast to a well aimed Demolisher Canon, or nice bolter fire, or a Fraggy...

The issue is once a whole unit is wiped out, next turn the nid player rolls to see if they come back onto the table...  I have a feeling it's a 5+, but it may be a 4+...  It's definately not a 6+...

So now nids have stolen the main good thing about playing Necrons...

Yeah, the "recurring swarm" thing will be a bit of an issue, and I think they have a couple of other formations out of this batch that does something similar. For the Skytyrant Swarm, the Gargoyles go into Ongoing Reserve on a 4+, but the unit has to be completely wiped for Nids to be able to get the roll. Unless you're exceedingly proficient at wiping the unit every turn, at most you might see them come back once (or twice if you happen to be really prolific).

Reminds me of a Nid game I played against a mate back in 5th. Lemartes and some DC managed to grab an objective in the Nid deployment zone bottom of 3, and then spent the next 3 Turns fighting recurring Gants (winning combat, breaking them, running them down, only for another unit to arrive the next turn) to eventually win the game. The DC were finally killed but Lemartes stood firm throughout the assault to be left as last man standing at the end. Now that's how the DC should go out... finally dying on a mound of dead enemy bodies; and Lemartes did his job cool.png

Nominate this for 7e Codex cover art

The Spawn of Cryptus is a very large Broodlord towering over the height of warriors. Both the Spawn of Cryptus and Captian Karlean are new models.

It's stuff I don't really need.....

I really have too much else on the go....

I have not a lot of money this time of year....

But depending on how much awesome Karlean is.....

I do need a small rule book too...

....who am I kidding....take my money GW, take all that is left!!!!

As it's from Natfka I'll not count any chickens until I see the pictures. Terminators just seem odd to include.

I don't need more DC bits and I have 6 unfinished dreadnoughts of various kinds at the moment (one is actually about 50% into the painting process to be fair).

Karlaen is going to have to be super badass for me to part with my money, either for the set or from a gouger on ebay.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed with what will come with it. If the source is correct anyways. I like the Death Company but the terminators? One of my main opponents runs Dark Angels, so almost entirely Terminators. Makes me not want to run them at all. And we have Space Hulk terminators with a special character in terminator armor already. Why not give us some Vanguard Vets and a Sang Priest or something interesting..Im sick of terminators lol

I'll probably still buy it, sell the mini rule book and nids.  Death company have become my favorite units lately so having more isn't all that bad. Any BA love is great though even if it is more Terminators.

I think it seems ok enough and was under the imrression that terminators were always a possability when we heard the rumors captain Karlean was going to be the special character for the campaign. That plus daeth company are probably going to be our only unique troop choice with the new codex, im not saying we wont or will keep assault marines but other marine chapters can use them just not as troops, and we will pbobably loose the ability to make sanguinary guard troops which makes this bundle a reasonably safe set. added to this the add 1 special big thing to the mix in the dreadnought and it seems like the typical release gw would put out.

I understand that terminators are not exactly a staple of the blood angels army like they are with deathwing/grey knights or space wolves but it was either them or sanguinary guard/assault squad? and if they have decided that Karlean was going to be in terminator armour (because we have an abundance of jump armoured special characters) then i think its the logical step.

that being said........ terminators we are blood angels go give ya slow panzy terminators to grey knights and give us something fast and close combat nuts smile.png

seems to make me think we will get something new model wise with our new codex now that we are not getting anything in the campaighn box smile.png so bring on the marine riding the giant scorpian of death blood smile.png

Lol I always feel out of step with what the community wants from Blood Angels.  All I own are tacticals and terminators (and death company).

I'm totally down with this box.  Quite a few large bugs we're getting too!

via an anonymous source on Faeit 212

next weeks back of the magazine says the following

Rules of Engagement

Sprues and Glue

On Deadly Wings They Come

also the new blood angels captain is in terminator armor wielding a thunderhammer and stormbolter. Not that impressive but new.

Ok, now I'm officially excited. Deadly wings, must be us.

Ignoring the fact that it's Faeit, a thunder hammer storm bolter combo. Interesting. So 4+ iron halo! thunder hammer and a ranged weapon, it's an odd combination but might work. I will agree with past comments we didn't have a named terminator armour character and depending on the rules this could be great. The excitement is killing me.

I've had my Blood Angels collecting dust since the end of 5th edition, when I began to focus on my wolves exclusively. So as the waves of rumors begin to break, I find myself once again wanting to pull out my small remaining force and dust it off. Plus with the addition of allies, I can now ally either army.

I for one am quite excited about this Deathstorm set. I need another dread, don't we all??!! Much like the Stormclaw box that was released before the new Wolves, I would make the assumption that the Deathstorm kit will usher in the new Blood Angels codex, and fingers crossed, new model kits.

I'm a sucker for Limited Edition models of the marine flavor, and have been hoarding them for the release of the new codex. And in true GW fashion, you need to buy this box for the new Captain (whom, for the record, sounds like a bad ass!! TH/SB and all...), so I'm quite excited to see what he looks like!!

I know this isn't a wishlisting thread, but I'd love to see a new Blood Angels specific Terminator kit. I am almost positive it will never manifest, but it sure would be great to see some TDA love thrown at the Angels. Hell, Wolves and Dark Angels and if you view it in a certain way, the current termi kits are all codex specific. I would love to see an ornate kit to tie in the Space Hulk models. It only fits into the armies fluff perfectly. Craftsmans and artists taking pride in the instruments of death they design.
