Cheers all.

@SanguiniusReborn, that was what I was going for. I was going to do an upraised arm but the pad clashed. Also I'm going with you skull idea with the pad, see below.

Any thoughts? I'm wondering whether to paint the bit inside the ring red/orange.

Hmm, I fear filling in the inside of the ring might take away from the eyes of the skull. Then again I could be dead wrong and it might look brilliant, perhaps the best thing to do is try it out on a spare pad and compare the two approaches.

Either way I'm glad I could be of some help Thunor. smile.png

I've played around a bit with some options and I think I'll go with the above but with bone skull rather than brass. It stands out more and the eyes look better. The lava in the ring looks awful (the way I did it :)) so I'm staying away from that. I tried removing the 6 spikes off the ring and don't like that either.

Edit: reminds more of Baldur's Gate

Are you sure? I think the brass/bronze colour fits rather well, plus in a way it hints at their dark fate later on...

And now the Centurion is finished. I may add a storm shield at some point.

Awesome! He looks suitably brutal and commanding, though I think the axe looks a little boring with the blades the same colour as the haft. Perhaps your power weapons could be painted to look like obsidian to further the volcanic theme?

Cheers. I napped (or is it knapped) the edges with a scalpel to give it the flint/obsidian look.  The paint was simply black with a drydrush of Longbeard Grey on the edge. It just about picks up the uneven edge.

Thanks for the tip Sanguinius and Cormac. Looks much better now.  I think I'll do all the power weapons like this for a theme.

Technically, unless the scalpel and axe were both made of stone, you didn't knap it, merely created the appearance of it. :p

But unnecessary semantic quibble aside, glad I could help. I am absolutely loving everything you have done with this.

And so it begins. Painting the base colours before fully assembling, then do highlights and 'bling'. Also the start of sergeant ii (I got two cloak armours for mark IV officer for some reason so cut the helmet away and replaced it with a Volkite pistol.
