looking fine brother thumbsup.gif

and the warped resin thing is exactly why i shy away from big forgeworld models. resetting a marine-sized autocannon barrel with hot water is bearable, but i saw spartans and other bigger models that were horribly warped and bent.

Forgeworld will always replace bits if you are not happy with them

i know and i did that 3 times for a set of extra land raider armour, but the hassle with waiting for the replacements made me think about ordering a "big" model again...

Yay! First unit of my ETL IV oath done. I already had one set of rapier quad heavy bolters, but now I finished the two from my vow.

@Wicced: I never had problems with FW - of course some of it is warped, but with some bending everything will fit. That's part of the experience!

@Aeternas: cheers mate!

@TheOneMarshal: You should definitely try out airbrushing mate. Changed my entire painting scheme.

BAM! Here's the first of two Predator Annihilators in my vow. On a roll now. The whole weekend, plus Pentecost Monday to paint, paint, paint, paint. And maybe do some building on my Nurgle biker lord and perhaps on the Brass Scorpion.

Hope you like.

I'll also try to fix my lighting. Sorry for the overexposed pics.

@Fangbanger: Cheers, buddy! The girders are plasticard H-beams available in any self-respecting hobby store. thumbsup.gif

Thanks Kilofix and TheOneMarshal! I do feel like I owe you all an apology - the picture quality of the original pictures in my last two posts was horrendous. So I redid them and uploaded them into the same comments for your liking.

The Rapier Quad Heavy Bolter Batteries are uploaded here.

The Predator Annihilator is uploaded in the comment here.

Alright, last tank in my first vow finished: the second Predator Annihilator. I tried to really go to town on the trophies, and am starting to actually use Space Marine helmets (something I for no reason in particular shied away from in the not too recent past). Anyway, here his is, in all his glory:

Hope you like! On to the last four bikers, then to the Brass Scorpion, and then my first ETL IV vow is finished! :D

Replies!

@Wicced: I'll hold you to that, buster! ;)

@Eldrick Shadowblade: I feel you, brother. Black Legion are the second most boring Space Marines to paint, after Black Templars. To paint, mind you. The difference between the two is that you will end up with awesome evil Black Legion, and those other guys will end up with derpy Templars. ;)

@evildrcheese: Thanks doc! I'm so happy you liked it and more importantly that it was an inspiration to you. :tu:

Maaaaaaaaaate! Each of these tanks, so, so awesome. They all look excellent and with the attention to small details, they all fit so well witht he army theme. Group shot of them?

Group shot of them? Your wish is my command, Midnight Runner! Here's a couple:

Thanks , Wicced! I'm glad you liked the helmet idea, because it is my most favourite part and a recent 'innovation' in my trophy repertoire. thumbsup.gif

it's a great addition to your repertoire thumbsup.gif

how are they affixed? looks like a small nail to me

They're actually just superglued to the surface. I then drill a 1mm hole through the helmet and the surface, and then cut off the head of a 1mm nail and insert it in the drilled hole with the point facing outwards. :tu:
