Finished Night Lords Sorcerer on Jetbike (Tzeentch Sorcerer on Disc of Tzeentch counts-as)...

Qas Thoval, Librarian of the 47th Company Night Lords. Thoval is terran born and was never sanctioned by Curze for his psychic abilities. He is now part of the Night's Reapers, but unlike many of his warp-afflicted brothers in the 47th armada, Thoval is tolerated by Captain Tol Zhaqael. Thoval is primarily ordered to scrying duties, but also acts as a liaison to the delegation ofThousand Sons that has recently joined forces with The Night's Reapers of Zhaqael.

Thanks for looking, hope you like, and as always: feedback welcome. thumbsup.gif

great to see the memory lane trip ,also noticed the dumbell under the table ,the mark of nearly everymans room biggrin.png is it now as dusty as the models were cool.png

Haha indeed it is. Got rid of the dumbells and replaced it with kettlebells thumbsup.gif Way better for training.

Finished Keeper of Secrets. I'm glad I finally got around to paint this model, so a big thanks to Forte for the motivation to do it (I made a Motivational Vow and swore that if he vowed a Stormsword in his Second ETLIII vow, I'd vow a KoS in my fifth). Good job mate! :tu:

This model was weird to paint. I don't know what it was exactly - perhaps it was the fact that it was a relatively large metal model and I'm not used to the weight anymore, or such an old design. It's finished now though and I'm happy it's in my collection.

And with the KoS finished, my fifth vow is done!

And with the fifth vow done, that's it for me this ETL!

I've only a recently started actually contributing to the BnC forum (before last january,I posted two pics in 2012) and I have to say it's been such a pleasure being part of this community. I've made many friends, enjoyed looking at many superbly inspirational pictures, had tons of laughs, gotten lots of very positive and constructive feedback on my own contributions, and can only hope my contributions have been received similarly by the Frater.

And the ETL has skyrocketed the volume of all these positive experiences. I've had an incredible work-rate. It's a true testimony to the whole BnC forum that we can 'compete' in such a warm, friendly, quirky, supportive and inspirational way. A big shout out to Captain Semper, who tirelessly worked to make the ETL possible. I'm in awe of his ability to stay in touch with all the Frater in the different strategiums, update us every week, keep us all motivated, competitive and have the experience still be fair and fun for all.

THANK YOU AND WELL DONE MATE!!
:tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Awesome - that's a collection everyone would be proud to have.

Cheers mate. Your comment inspired me to put the whole collection on the table. I'm kinda shocked by how much I actually have painted by now. It's all the fault of the recent GW opening nearby and my starting contributing here, as I think I almost doubled my stuff since last November, and the ETL alone accounts for about 25% of the models I own....

Yay! I love the addition of the S&M cow. I'm sure Forte felt a disturbance in the Slaaneshi force the moment you completed him happy.png

Also, that Fire Raptor still looks *hella* awesome, even at that distance next to the Titan.

Keep up the good work buddy!

What's next on your agenda?

The amount of stuff you've managed to finished as part of the ETL is truly stunning! But what makes this especially humbling is the excellent quality of your work: an achievement and an army to be really proud of -- and an inspiration to all followers of chaos msn-wink.gif

Now go touch up those two Dark Vengeance characters -- they are the one little thing letting this army down at the moment. And with the models still looking really good by themselves, that is an indicator of the spectacular standard of this army! My hat is off to you, sir! smile.png

Thanks all!

Replies:

Abaddon looks nice but that Jetbike Sorcerer... top notch mate!

Blood of the Father, Augustus! That's one Cursed Throne of a collection you got, I knew you were a fast painter but the amount of units you have is jaw-dropping

Thanks mate, I'm happy you like it. I don't know if I'll ever field him (he's meant as a monster killer with his relatively high WS, low AP force weapon when charging, and superspeed), but when I pictured him in my mind I had to build him.

And yeah man, this shot was the first of my entire army ever - and I accidentally forgot the twenty Thousand Sons I have!

Loving the jetbike dude! The OSL looks excellent.

Great thread

Cheers mate! I upload only finished stuff here. I try to make regular updates on my projects in my WIP thread too. thumbsup.gif

loving the glowing effect on both the powercoils and staff ,really looks like pure energywub.png

Damn, I've missed a lot. Really impressive work lately, love the jetbike and the glowing effects.

Cheers daemonclaw and Barabbas! I do have the extreme luxury of an airbrush, which makes the life of any painter SO much easier, though.

The jetbike sorcerer is sheer legend my friend! So many pretties

Everything about that jet bike is made of win.

And coockies. msn-wink.gif Thanks Fracture and helterskelter

S&M cow! Lolz! I'll try to get some better pics of the fire raptor uploaded. Next on the agenda is moving house and climbing a 6k mountain in the Indian Himalaya's, but after that I'll be sure to finish the Contemptor with two Butcher Cannons I've been working on. I also have a SoH Contemptor and now this NL one in the line!! Plus I finally finished collecting the bits for my LoS/Defiler crossover, so that's happening at least before November.

Impressive army.

So that's what would have happened to the cattle with the mad cow disease if we didn't kill them all off.

Indeed. They'd pop out two additional arms and start pointing at each other. biggrin.png

Thanks Kraut. I must say getting all this positive feedback is both humbling and incredibly inspirational, so that helps a lot.
Also, I do admit I rushed the DV characters, which caused their quality to drop somewhat... I'll take a look at them, but honestly I don't like stock characters anyway. Everything MUST be converted!

Double post...

Just realized I never uploaded my two heldrakes, so here goes...

The bases are actually both meant for the other - but the more detailed one was too short for the (more interestingly posed) banking one with the freehand symbol.

Thanks Thrasius! Ask and thou shalt receive... we're here to help and share the love, mate. The canopy was painted with Tamiya X-27 Clear Red. It's a super thick acrylic paint, which means you can just paint it with a normal brush and clean the brush with water. Do NOT glue the canopy onto the model before painting. Drop the paint on the canopy thickly and spread it out, making sure no air bubbles are formed in the paint (so shake the bottle 24 hours before using and THEN open it - if you shake it immediately before painting, bubbles will appear which will dry into the paint). Then let the canopy dry. The paint will spread out fairly evenly over most of the surface of the clear plastic. Drying takes about 24hrs. If bubbles do appear (despite your preparation), clean the canopy with a tissue soaked in medical alcohol 98% and try again. Really it's time consuming but well worth the time. I've been wetblending a little X-27 Clear Orange to act as highlights near the edges, but that's optional. Hope this helps! :tu: Lemme know if you need other stuff, I'm more than happy to help out :D
