Do your girls have an AdMech and/or Inquisitorial enclave's support? Unless such wealthy and well-connected patrons provide your girls with suspensors (miniature anti-gravity devices), the lascannon and heavy bolter should be too damn heavy for an un-augmented human to even lift, much less use with any proficirncy on the battlefield- and if your House DOES have such support, you might as well give the House's head and her elites power armor.

Well the mining laser can be used my normal Mining Workers too, so no reason a late-Campaign Escher wouldn't be able to lift one up?^^

Thanks guys! I finished early with work today and as the GF is off to Norway*, I decided to finish all of the remaining MDF TTCombat buildings I had left. And now they're done! I couldn't resist and build a game table for it, just for the pictures. So here they are! (Sorry for the fuzziness here and there. It was late and my phone camera sucks at non-macro shots)

Took me long enough... luckily as with all paint schemes, I've started to get into it and made it far, far more efficient. What took me days before now was done in a single evening. I ordered one more Sector 3 Industrial Complex and three Sector 1 Large Platforms which I already received - so I should be able to completely fill a 4x4 table with terrain, and buiid up to three stories high in about a month. Sadly, it won't account for any points in the ETL.... Oh well.

@ Leviathus: Hey buddy! Heven't seen you comment here before - thanks! I really appreciate it, comments make this thread go. The heads are the FW Escher heads, yes Well spotted!

@ Atia: Shhhh, I won't tell if you won't. Also, re: the lascannon; mi idea, su idea

@ hushrong: Cheers, mate! Yes! They have, and they will. I calculated that if I send all my characters to the trading post after next game, that I will be guaranteed a Caryatid on a roll of 7+ on 2d6.... MIght be interesting.

@ Bjorn Firewalker: No, they don't. They're just awesome, and have a fierce reputation (23 now) - so they have an easy time getting stuff from the Trading Post - which is where I also got a suspensor for the lascannon. Once I can afford a new champion, she'll either get a multi melta or a heavy bolter - but you can be sure she'll get a suspensor with that, too. But I digress - you're being a Facebookian negative nelly and you forget the three most important words in all of the hobby: ROOL OF COOL  Also, what Atia says afterwards.

@ Aita: that

*Yes, Norway... on Friday I will follow her to that beautiful country for a week of Nordic debauchery. And on the 8th of June, I will fly to Iceland with my dad, to explore and learn about that country. Two Scandinavian countries in less than a month? I should pillage a cloister when I get back to the Low Countries!

@ SkimaskMohawk: Thank you!

@ Bjorn Firewalker: Haha no reaction to my answer, eh? ;) The poster I got from the interwebs. I fyou want it too, send me a PM, I'll wetransfer an entire PowerPoint full of them.

@ teku: haha thanks dude. I've been called that before...

@ Quixus: That table consists of these sets:
1x Sector 3 Complex
1x Sector 1 Complex
2x Walkways
2x Power Generator
1x Chem Vat Connector
1x Chem Vat
1x Sphere Silo
2x Sector 3 Chem Vat Platform
1x Sector 3 Stairs
2x Municipium Sector Fan Platform
1x Sector 1 Large Platform

I never knew Nottingham is made of plastic!

Lascannon and heavy bolter looking really good! I think the las-model should get a fear check when it comes onto the board.... a hiver comes out of the pipes rolling with a lascannon ... my cultists are out of there!

Amazing terrain. I still haven't worked out how to paint my mdf terrain at all.

According to the Deathwatch Overkill booklet the mining laser is a modified servo-arm one, not something normal miners can wield like a weapon. Normal use probably involves a team of miners with a heavy duty tripod but the servo-arm option is implied to be rare enough to be non-standard but likely enough that 'three armed mutant' isn't the first thing an Inquisitorial team would think when seeing a Genestealer Cult mining laser.

Humans being so badass they can wield weapons they shouldn't be able to is a very common 40k trope that the Necromunda heavy rules basically assume anyway.

The ETL IS HERE!

I Augustus b'Raass rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX on the side of the Death Guard and their Questor Traitoris allies, and vow to complete belowmentioned units of total value of 1046 on or before September 1st, 2019. @ Leviathus: Hi! Do yuo play Necromunda as well?

@ Quixus: haha perhaps. Or start a Space Wolves army?

@ the emperor is scottish: Of course you will!

@ Eldrick Shadowblade: haha that's what everyone in my group is saying. With the new rules to compensate for huge differences in gang rating, everyone has been raging about how they're going to kill my gang lol

@ Majkhel: 4D even! Not sure how I've created terrain where time flows, but I'll take the compliment

@ Closet Skeleton: Yeah 40K miniatures are based on the ROOL OF COOL

Helverins cost 160 points base, 10 points each for Autocannons and IIRC 14 points each for meltaguns

A thanks, I forgot to delete that line asking for the points. I'd already found them. Meltaguns are 17. :) :tu:

  • 4 weeks later...

I finally made it through your blog. :tongue.: But I notice that you have not posted in a while. :ohmy.:

I am loving the Necromunda scenery, also the throwback to the original 'Munda terrain. Good choice I must say! :biggrin.: I have quite a few of the old bulkheads lying around but I am not sure whether to use them in scenery or not, they look cool as but they are also rare as!!

"You don't stop gaming as you get older; you get older when you stop gaming." I love that quote! It also applies to computer games, of which I also still play. :biggrin.:

Cheers, Alsomov, for reawakening this thread - I admit I've been away for quite a while. Travels and earthly distractions (Necromunda) have all taken my attention away from the board. I've not been idle, though - my Escher Gang the Pantera Pixies are quite active and have grown to a monstrous reputation. I assure you a Khimerix with Move 7 and Nerves of Steel will rip through everything any gang can throw at it. But wait there's more. Here's some of the things that have been added to the gang....

First off, my Leader, "Mad" Deana Kholeric. She's been rocking a stolen Delaque Flechette Pistol for ages now and I have not gone around to painting the miniature for it. She's also has the Uphive Raiments, which further led me to using the GSC miniature...
QsawV9e.jpg

Pretty nifty, wouldn't you agree?

Next up is Iris Ra. Iris wasn't really happy with the performance of her Bolter-Needler combi weapon so she decided to get a LASCANNON (with suspensor of course) from the trading Post....
cF8OIAx.jpg

Another Champion was added to the gang (bringing the total to four (4!)), and she's rocking a Plasma Gun and Whip (the whip is there just to make her look cool. I did pay the credits tjhough. WYSIWYG4lyf)
ESS0MFE.jpg

My ancient Juve Rosalia Shik - with her stolen Web Gauntlet - has also been given a hand flamer. Quite nasty now that she's Movement 8 (EIGHT!)
sfhPh1z.jpg

Lastly, I started a new campaign with other buddies who have gotten interested in Necromunda, and I'm recycling my original Mad Deanna miniature but changged her laspistol to a plasma pistol. Nasty!
YLhk4qh.jpg

That's it for now. I should really start my ETL vow....

Cheers!

@ Leviathus: Hey buddy! That's totally cool. Kill team is a bit too much like regular 40k for my tastes, but I can definitely see the appeal there, too!

@ Aslomov: Cheers, friend! You're totally right - I have been away. Life, you know? I'm really glad to hear that you like the munda terrain, though, and I present a video of a recent

So happy to see you back at work, buddy, and those are some lovely Escher ladies! Mad Deana stands out, obviously, and I simply love her leopard print coat. I cannot shake the feeling she might have worked even better with dark skin, though...

Anyway, fantastic work, as usual! More please! :)

Good to see you posting and an ETL vow as well.

The Escher additions are looking top notch. I was chatting with my mate who sculpted the new kits about how moving from making models that sit in massive armies to the small gangs where people apply so much care and attention must be really interesting for him I used your gang as an example and he was very impressed.

Looking forward to the ETL pictures.
