That was what the one behind was meant to be. The vents are just tacked on... The gears are there :) I do like it, but it doesn't feel centurion-y. It feels more like an industrial bot. Hmmmmmmm.... I'll need to find small arms to work with that.

and since I have a number of 'refurbished' designs, it fits in well into my army. I need to work out a structure for the guns better. As it is, they remind me of the titan guns, which feel good to me.

Uh, how does he see anything other than what's directly in front of him? I know, I know, realism and 40k are only passing friends but that just seems a bit off. Are you going to give him other sensor feeds to compensate?

So... working on it, I decided to make it look more titan-ish, so some armour plating over the guns would be good.

I set about making curved plates, like the Mars Pattern guns, not by curving pla-plate, but by cutting a tube into sections to create the curve, and glue it to the flats. Heating and bending plates never really worked for me as I could never get a consistent bend.

To make the join work, I needed to flatten/align the hinge to be flat, this much I know, but I also need to design the joint to be more feasible, functionally wise.

Bulked up the plating more... added another curve on the inside as it felt incomplete. Added a ball joint. Will need to work on the shoulder joint next.

So I tried to come up with a variant chest piece. Always loved the Mk4 design... let's see if it works for this...

I carved the plate down and bent it. To help the to maintain the curve, I held it down with clips.

I cut off the excess, then stuck the brass etch eagle on. I filled in the gaps.

Anyways... more updates!

I worked on a servo-arm and mount, using the loader arm from the missile launcher. I want to to do 2, for both sides, but I will need to source for more of the bits. In filled up the hole with a half sphere bit, and pretty much made it a full ball joint.

I also added a hinge of sorts (it will be hidden under the pad so I didn't think it needed to be too elaborate.) to the pads, to help make them fit better as it added another attachment point for the shifted pads. I added the servo-arm attachment points to the back, where the cables usually connect to, since I won't be using them.

I'm also prepping some tabards, made from the vertical scroll bits (i can sculpt them, but thought it would be interesting to try something different for now.) I modded them to add some variety to the shapes.

Oh gosh... it has been a while since I updated this topic. It has been a hectic few weeks but I did manage to get more work done on the Centurions. So yeah, they are pretty much done as-is... Sorry but I left out some stages as i got too caught up in the detailing...

- Made some claws stick out... like cupholders?!

- Beefed up the connecting joints for the servo arms. The original ones flexed...

- Added servo arms to both sides

- lots of purity seals... love the long ones!
