Kierdale
Thanks. There's a couple of boxes I forgot to put on the list: 5 Raptors 1 TDA Lord who I intend to convert into my counts-as-Typhus. A big one-shot doom siren as his virus-thingy. And that last one got me thinking: I've been wondering how to do the 'plague zombies'...wanting them to look tranced rather than diseased... And at the same time wondering how I can give auto (or at least las) pistols to my Slaangor cultists.... Ah-ha!!! Use the Slaangor as the 'plague zombies'. No need for guns. Sufficiently different in look from my human cultists. Oh, more for the list: A handful of Goliath hangers to be converted into cultists. Forté
You'll likely have to raid sites that sell 28mm weapons and conversion bits sites like Kromlek and Anvil. Kierdale
Well, while I haven't gamed in two years now -parenthood :D - my gaming was done, and when I get back into it probably will be done at my local GW, so I'd like to avoid using 3rd party bitz. I could scratchbuilt pistols or convert them from other weapons but, using the Slaangor as 'plague zombies' means they don't need firearms at all. Problem solved. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/11/#findComment-4090617 Share on other sites
Kierdale
The second spawn is complete! I took some photos against the usual blue-to-white background and some against black as an experiment. And the base trim has since been cleaned up with black. Res Ipsa Loquitur
It kinda reminds me of The Thing. With a Daemonette burstin out of it, natch. http://www.forafewmoviesmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/thing3.jpg Was that intentional? EDIT - It's brilliant, by the way. Kierdale
Thanks. I might have been subconsciously channeling The Thing :D The intention was to make it look like a failed summoning, or one which has only partially succeeded, with the two sacrifices (at least one of whom was certainly unwilling) having become merged with the not-quite-fully-formed Daemonette. The Crypt Ghouls box is really good for twisted bodies (and, incidentally if you ever need them, naked legs and feet). I have parts and ideas for a couple more spawn (hopefully as disturbing as the first two) from my current box and hope to get another box sometime. From that I'd like to combine all ten bodies into one worm-like amalgamation to use as a giant spawn. Res Ipsa Loquitur
I am an unashamed plagiarist so I will be ripping Tzen off and using the Gal Vorbak as Spawn. WarriorFish
I like all the hair colours, helps tie them in with your Marine's colour scheme nicely. I also feel you're enjoying making the spawn a little too much, it's getting pretty freaky  Kierdale 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/11/#findComment-4099744 Share on other sites

Kierdale
Thanks! I got a bit more work done on that spawn and another, but just a bit. They're not models I can work on unless I'm in a particular mood (which probably sounds weirder than it is). I did however finish the second squad of Daemonettes and thus my ETL vow! Alluress and Blondie (with Biel Tan guardian's head) Close up of Baldie's face as their eyes came out nicely `Colourful` here on our right has the same body (and thus rubble she's jumping off) as Blondie, but I cut the High Elf Eldar helmet away and left the piece of stone very thin. I like how it looks. With them being so dark but the bases light, photographing them was hell :D I may borrow the missus' digital camera and have another go sometime. Anyway: vow complete. Another vow....I'm thinking whether to or not. Kierdale
Thank you very much! After uploading those photos I took some more (including the Eldar head) with the missus' digital camera. Kierdale
Thanks! I got another spawn ready for painting, so made it my second ETL vow. Kierdale
Thank you. No work on that or the other spawn today. For a change I did a bit on my Slaangor... I decided to give some pistols after all. When used as [plague zombies] they'll just pistol-whip people. Leader...now here I have a question of pose. A. Holding severed head low, axe high, victoriously. hair will be added sticking out the top of his (left) fist. B. Axe held low, head held high, possibly with left index finger extended pointing at enemy. C. Axe low, head high, shouting at it (I'd post it more vertical too, facing him better). And the fourth one I've got done so far. "What's that you say? The Black Templars and World Eaters chain their weapons to their wrists?... Hidden Content ...how quaint." Some will have scavenged Imperial gear (chainswords, knives, IG helmets/heads as trophies [the odd marine helmet too], IG canteens and ammo pouches). I'm wondering about giving some scavenged loyalist marine pauldrons too....thoughts? EDIT: another question. Shave off the wood grain from weapons and paint them up as metal (add some drilled holes, bolts here and there)?
