Those bikers look absolutely fantastic. I love the power weapon/lightning claw effects. Was about to compliment you on the freehand on Champ #2's head, then I took a look over at FW's site and realized it's actually part of the model. Amazing work either way, I'm just gonna have to get myself some of those Zerk heads now...

Dos - I know what you mean, but my freehand sadly lacks! I tried some black 'radar' bleeps but it wasn't working, maybe some sort of lighter yellow? As I quite like the glow especially from tabletop level, and I don't want to detract from it.

 

Raz - glad such a heretic as yourself approves :) unfortunately FW has to take credit for the head, as my freehand is sadly lacking! I do love that head, one of my faves in the whole of 40k (after their Worldeater Termi one with the khorne rune)

Agree, both this one & Vol2 are very helpful books & I strong suggest people buy these books.  I'm hoping the Horus Heresy version will be release soon.

Thanks IP, your own bikes (and Brother Heinrich's) were a big inspiration into getting my own done.

 

No progress on the Flesh Hounds bar base coat/wash/first highlight as yet, hopefully get some more done tonight. I have however built my Sorcerer for the Call, though he is in need of greenstuff work to Chaos up his bike, and some sort of Force Weapon. Basic kitbash with stuff I had lying about -

In other news I have just taken delivery of some 32mm base adapters from TT Adapters. I really can't speak more highly of the quality of these, the fit is perfect and the bevelled edges mirror the GW ones. With a little GS to fill the gap, here is the Vrosh Tattersoul still on his scenic base and a Possessed to compare with -

Flint - especially when said book is covering his screen......let's just say he is using the Force!! In fairness it was the only book I had as I am a bit of a witch hater :p

 

Dos - I quite like it so it is going to stay, I am going to paint it a bright psychic-y blue/white so hopefully it will win you over. It is from the possessed sprue which is either very awesome or very lame depending on what you are looking at!

 

DeathSpectre - ofc they can multi-task, he is actually making a pizza order on his vox, whilst keeping an eye on the witch hating Khorne bikers he is riding with as well :D

 

Kierdale - thanks man, I really do try with the posing on my stuff. With the age of the bike kits you have too really!! In fairness the DV Ravenwing bikes are a good inspiration to anybody as they are well posed including the leaning of the bikes. My main inspiration was the pic of the Khorne bikers in the Daemonkin Codex, sooooooo awesome; you can just imagine them running down their foes in a frenzy of howling chainblades and tyre treads.

DarkApostle7 - I have! Despite not doing an actual 'Daemonkin' army per say, I have enjoyed the fluff and short stories in the Codex; Khorne and his devotees have always been my favorite.

Insane Psychopath - atm mate I haven't really got enough to call it an army as all I have painted are Urkrathos and his Juggernaut, my Daemon Prince The Fell Reaver and the two bike squads. Oh, and one CSM!! :D Don't worry though, I will be sticking with the Black Legion and their Daemonic allies for a while yet as I want the army to be a painted army. After the Flesh Hounds and Sorcerer from the Call, I will finish my CSM/Chosen squad and paint my Berzerkers, as well as their (Subtle Discord pimped) Rhinos. Once these are done, which will provide me with a decent painted backbone, I will move through my current list which consists of a Soul Grinder, the Possessed and a 'Big D' Bloodthirster and a Balrog/Bloodthirster conversion (in no particular order!)

 

Incidently, my big treat that I am most looking forward to is painting the Warmaster himself, and a unit of FW Khorne Terminators with their Land Raider Spartan ride. But I am not letting myself do them until I have a lot more done.....maybe ;)

Regarding the sorcerer on the bike I am in two minds about the flame hand. It could look amazing with the paint job on it, but as it stands the force weapon would look nicer. Tricky stuff.

How the Black Legion getting on for the 40k double tournament that Warhammer World?  As said before, you need to get some photos during the event & of the display.  If you've not been to the updated Warhammer World - pretty much I still can not get over how cool the Chaos vs Ultramarine display is.  There a lot there & I'm always spotting something new & getting idea for my own Iron Warriors.

Had such an excellent time and very humbled to receive that award, and we also made the cut for best army which we are equally pleased about!! Cheers to all who voted for our stuff and well done to the deserved Ultramarine/Ad Mech winners, such a cool army B)

 

We had an excellent time with some epic games with some really great opponents!! I will post some pictures of the event when I get a chance to, but for now all you need to know is the bad guys win, Cerstes Minor burns, Chaos reigns.......mwhahahahaaaa
