Bit longer than expected due to work commitments, but I've finished the vow! Huzzah! Light sadly washes out a few bits that look too light, so I may just adjust these in future, but glad to have them done!

In other news Ahriman and the first squad of Sons are completed.  No time to take pis this morning but will tonight.  Need to get the second squad done and I have the second vow completed.  Then on to Vow III.

I'm thinking I may add to the Ectofiend in future, perhaps where the pipes should be, I'll add some tentacles cables to link them up, and potentially some more OSL in the "mouthpieces" of the weaponry. 

 

Oh, and of course I've got all the other parts magnetised for the Mauler too - but I won't do those yet if I can't get points for them haha.

Yeah, I agree. Even though I couldn't do much about the 'pop 'n' lock' position he was in, at least he does look like he's taking aim at something.

All these converted fiends are really making me want one.

 

My own vow hasn't gotten lost in the warp, btw, he's still ticking over slowly. I finished the gap-filling on him this morning and I'll stick stuff on his base later on so I can undercoat him tomorrow. It's been a while since my last black legion test mini, and I'm not sure if I want to go with the eshin grey method on the black or try a touch of dark reaper - I'll paint up a spare shoulderpad and see if it looks right.

I know it isn't the most fantastic thing, but please bear in mind that this is literally the third model I have ever painted, so any and all C&C and advice/tips are welcome. And that I am fully aware of how atrocious it looks. The last pic is where I tried to add a lighter white-gray wash on the gray surface in an attempt to "brighten" it, it is still wet so I'm hoping it isn't as white when it finishes drying.

@Chaeron: Congrats on your second finish mate! Those daemon engines look great. I actualy like the decimator poste - very spindly and he looks like he's taking aim at flyers!

@Kol_saresk: You are improving. My first advice is this: start with simpler, less cool models. Try to get your hands on some roks or old plastic space marines to practice. Second: always thin down your paint. Three thin layers are always better than one thick one. And related Third advice: try to only put paint on the tip of your brush, and roll your tip with paint along a piece of paper, so you remove excess paint and get a nice tip. THis prevents your paint from clotting on your models. Hope this helps mate - and just keep trying. If you need any more advice, don't be afraid to PM me, I'd be happy to help and can refer you to some excellent video's with advice that helped me tremendously!
