@v6: I use a version of fws. Use all Vallejo airbrush paints. And then I use tamiya clear blue and green. I agree with you about the green. A little

Green Goes a long long way. These last bunch of guys are only blues. Special units will be blue and normal vehicles and troops will be green blue. I use biel tan and gulliman glaze to do most the blending. Do a lot of thin layers and let them dry so you can see the affect before you add more

Another quick update.... A lot left to do but gettin there I tried to do

Battle damage but may have gone overbaord... As you can see on the shoulder I tried make a bullet hole andddd it went right through and cracked. I'm liking it pretty wel but any and alllll honest opinions and suggestions are welcome/needed. Thanks!!

Busy two days.... I got 5 seekes finished (minus decals whenever they're released) my consul is done. And I also finished a ten man tac squad minus bolters. And 20 bases including rebasing my 10 volkite.... Here ya go.

Alright fellas.... Pretty decent update..... I have all but finished 6 seekers my dread my consul and the purple power ranger.... All o have left are eyes and powders here we go!

 

First off is my consul... I can decide if I want to do the bottom part of his Jaw silver or not

He is.... Well kind of. I mis counted my tac marines and thought I had one extra to play with butttt turns out he was part of my 20 man squad. I wanted to experiment with purples like the cover of legion.... So who knows where he'll go

Airbrushes are amazing for consistency which is really the most important when it comes to an army's appearance

I vote yes! It will cut your painting time in half and give you a much more consistent and even look. When I painted vehicles with brushes they were awful. I one hundred percent encourage you to get one, I just bought my fist nice airbrush and iwata, I have yet to use it though.

Cheers man. I find that no matter how much I thin my base coat it always comes out to thick when using a brush and sometimes it's not even. An airbrush seems like it may fix all of that.

The only problem I have with airbrushes is that sometimes people tend to overuse them for painting and it creates a very recognizable effect. Proper picking out of details, washes and highlights tends to balance that out though

100% agree. Over-airbrushed armies drive me absolutely insane. But what betrayer41 has here is a perfect medium. Beautifully painted Alpha Legion with a tone that could really only come from an airbrush and details picked out expertly. Fantastic work all around.

I've yet to see the inside/Palm of that Particular Power Fist. Mind telling me what kind of detailing is in there? Is it like Hurons Claw/Fist with an Exposed Hand inside?
