Hello Hello! I like the addition of the legion numeral but wish they would do some with the victory laurels like the ones that come with the brass etch.

Regardless, I have some partially paint rhinos that may get their doors pried off.

I find them expensive but really good. They give as good as they get with the Music of the Apocalypse. Right now I'm running one group of ten and two of five in a 1000pts patrol detachment campaign.

They dislike vehicles and larger monsters shooting at them, but only if I don't have vision to a smaller squad I can bully with 3-6 sonic blaster shots if some of my guys die. It really messes with some opponents shooting phases if they get unsure which unit to shoot with first, at the expense of possibly loosing some shots later down the road. An experienced opponent wont take too long thinking about that though.

Personally I like to run them straight at the enemy with my daemon prince support. Both because I like fighting for the midfield, but also so I can make sure to be in range of most things in case I get shot to pieces in the next turn.

Played against a space marine player the other day and got a taste of my own medicine as three of his hellblasters fired back after I shot them, due to the ancient with banner. Brought my helbrute to three wounds like it was nothing. :D

Wounding light to medium vehicles on a 4+ is amazing at bringing them down to that next step of deterioration. The VotLW stratagem has helped me there, when I first only used it to mass kill space marines and equivalents.
This goes for all of our S4 weapons of course, but the high amount of shots from the sonic blasters makes it great at forcing the opponent to roll raves. :)

Have to echo everyone else about the Noise Marines. Those crazy bastards have kept Chaos alive for me all through 6th and 7th. With all the changes in 8th they still have teeth.

In my 1250 I have a few squads of them and I like to bring armor personally. Tanks are always nice to have around and I had been loving contemptor dreads. Basically tougher boxes that can tread or crawl alongside my boys to provide heavier fire support. Plus, my opponents tend to focus on trying to take down the tanks or walkers leaving my marines with more turns of wreaking havoc.

Understood. Funny enough my contemptors are In another list running up with my rubric marines too. Predators have been a strong back bone alongside my EC but aside from them one thing I really like bringing is a lord for those rerolls on the NM and he is a good scrapper in a fight too.

One unit I have been wanting to dust off are my bikers. Have my noise marines move up and fire into my opponents front lines will bikers go up the flank. I just don’t know if I should keep them with bolters to harass infantry of try putting some melta weapons on them to go tank hunting.

Ha, I had the same thoughts. I definitely want to run a few melee characters. Not only is it fitting but it’s different than my 3 sorcerer terminators.

Bikes is an interesting one. Something I was thinking about doing in heresy but never got round to it.

I’m hoping that EC will get a specialist melee unit at some point. I quite fancy using the exulted champion.

Edit: out of interest did anyone use the old apocalypse formation? It’s something I always

wanted to see used.

...forcing the opponent to roll raves. :smile.:

Most appropriate typo of the topic award goes to... :laugh.:

I have been musing a bit on Noise Marines lately also, what sort of squad builds would people recommend? I'd like them to do well of course, but I'm wary of spending too many points/attracting too much attention to the squad and losing my toys.

I've also been playing with CSM and Daemon lists, but that's a conversation for another time
