Was not really sure on those veteran heads when I saw them on FW, but seeing them on a model has me coming around to them. Where does that bare arm come from ? Great Captain Wyvern, but he looks a bit odd, I think it's the gun arm. I would change the head to be looking more towards the gun, right now it just looks a bit strange. Praetor is almost done, gave up on trying to paint the bare was so swapped for a mk IV crested helmet as I'm particularly did of those and the mk III crested helmet on the Rapier crewman. I've popped him on a cork base as well. Weathering and the base aside, WS pretty much done. Just not sure now how to do the base, as in the colour. Something that stands out and looks cool. Perhaps terracotta or a sort of Martian red. The 'Templars' I really enjoyed doing. I was having a discussion with Hyperion about how to go about painting them, as I wasn't sure whether to paint the stolen units in the original Legion colours or the Alpha Legion scheme. But really, it only makes sense having a unit I original colours if I'm actually playing against that legion. This will represent more stolen tech than anything, like their acquisition of the mk VI prototype. I'm likely to not use the original minis for the stolen units I'll do for other legions. Perhaps more utilise parts of the kit to represent the Alphas adapting them I their needs. I'm happy with them regardless. The sergeant is fairly basic. IF upgrade chest and the rapier crew helmet. Next up, the remaining 19 marines from the tactical squad, a Rapier and a Sicaran that I'm already halfway through. Overall whilst not my taste of colour scheme (a shade to green for me) they all look phenomenal brother, especially your templars :) what is next in store? I think a contemptor would look great. Slips Posted September 22, 2014 Share Posted September 22, 2014 Yeah, thats sadly a thing. Unless your ultra nit-picky, it shouldn't matter all that much. The only time it truly matters is Legion Tartaros and Standard Tartaros as one comes with the Crux Terminatus and the other doesn't.
