I don't think the dread would have the co-ordination to properly use a weapon like a flail, let alone a more complicated one like that. I get that this is a game and all and reality isn't really a match but still just my little non-important view.

Hmmm.... i've actually wondered about how he'd use the weapon all day since i saw your point this morning, and i personally don't have anything other than a cop out.

so here goes:

well, there IS a space marine in there, and it IS a contemptor chassis, which is ancient beyond measure, so who knows! Maybe there are cameras mounted around the hull or the machine spirit is incredibly coordinated and can allow the pilot to swing something as crazy as a 15 foot tall flail around with impunity.

Eh, rule of cool stands! i do appreciate the input though! Varied opinions always help bring out the best in the hobby and i can definitely say i hadn't thought about it that way!!! I'll have to figure it out when i come up with a backstory for sure.

soooo, it's my 18th birthday today! Whooo!

i'd totally show off what i got but i just got home from practice and it could be a while before i get my little surprise, so we'll see.

i plan on going up to a hobby store and potentially buying more, as i have gotten my hands on some money as of late.... Those Morghast wings are looking closer than ever!

Next big hurtle looks like the head and finishing the conversions.

Ahaha, i had that problem too! his name is excptionally interesting to spell, and really funny to try to pronounce too.

And oh my that dreadnought looks nice! i think the wolf skull would be too large for my piece,

but that deer skull is just perfect for ornamentation, i'd love to get my hands on that!

Thank ya brother! I can definitely say i'm going to enjoy making it, i'm gonna conceptualize some possible conversions over the next couple days/weeks and look around for some inspiration.

Unfortunately, there were no morghast kits around when i made my way over to the nearest hobby store that i had credit with, so the contemptor must wait for just a little longer before it can be whole....

But! on a positive note, i grabbed the last 2 vindicators that they had in stock, that'll be fun.

Been a busy spring break for sure, but i did get a little time to work on some of the various different projects i have started now,

so let's get started.

First up, got the vindicators blocked out... but i need some ideas for conversions and such... i've looked around a bit but i'm not too sure where i wanna take them just yet. any input would be greatly appreciated!

I kinda like it so far personally, if i keep it it'll be used on approx 15-20 assault marines and a stormraven in the distant future...

detailing will be in black and red as far as chapter markings and such, i'll finish this one before the rest of the squad and see where it stands with both y'all and myself.

I had my worries to be honest, this is my first attempt at yellow armor!

@Hushrong- oh man i absolutely love the corpse pushing vindicator conversion, it'sa wonderful concept! I just think it's done so much by a lot of people and there won't be an easy way to distinguish one from the others. I'm doing some research for inspiration, we'll see what happens!

Busy day so far, what with visiting the college i'm gonna enroll in here in a couple months, but i did set aside a bit of time for hobby stuff!

fisrt, i've been looking at that fantasy archai kit for what seems like forever now, and i decided that trying to make my own wings in an Autocad program and 3D printing them myself would be kinda fun to try. So i'm gonna see where that goes and mess around a bit. Who knows.

Wow, it has been wayyy too long guys!

Life sorta caught up to me in both good and bad ways, what with ap exams, senior year junk, and performances with band etc. etc.

but, i did find some time last night to get work done! although not exactly what i'd thought i'd do next

Also, in planning with conversion, i thought i might leave this one largely alone, sot that it would stand out when compared to the entirety of my army through it's lack of decoration, one needs not collect remains to maintain sanity once sanity has already escaped their grasp!

anyways. Here's what i got.

the screeching of wasted gears and tortured pistons filled the armory as the vault seals tore free from their rust caked housings, and the metre thick doors swung outwards. A collection of astartes from several companies and the tech adepts with their servitors remained silent, only the hum of their armor and the clicking of servos could be heard over the idling ships' engines.

Traditionally, the awakening process was a solemn and peaceful ceremony. filled with reverence and just cause.

But the demigods stood on edge, weapons held tight, eyes searching for the slightest provocation. This would be a first for the chapter, and was expected to be no peaceful awakening.

The chamber within was bare, lacking in any sort of decoration and filigree as was typical in imperial vessels. There were no censers burning colored smoke, nor script cherubs reciting ancient benedictions. Against the far wall where typically an Aquila would preside, there was only bare metal. Instead, rising up from the platform that dominated the room was the hulking form of a dreadnought. Chained down with lengths of adamantium bar and massive links of chain running to the edges of the platform adn bolted to the floor, the war machine lay motionless on its' knees, lifeless sarcophagus tilted down towards the astartes that entered the chamber with their weapons primed.

Cerna Ohen stepped forward, accompanied by a techpriest and several servitors armed with lascutters and drills, they set about the task of carefully removing the restraints consigning the dreadnought to its' prison. The Librarian cautiously came into reach of the old walker, encased in ceramite far more ancient than any of the men in the room, he placed his armored gauntlet against the blank helm, and pushed his mind deep into the machine and its' pilot.

It slept deeply, and was at first unwilling to accept Ohens' gentle prods. But as he dug deeper he found the very soul of the leviathans' occupant, so deeply entangled within the machine spirit it was as if the two were one entity. Gently, the Psyker aroused the spirits' attention, trying to ease the ancient slowly into the realm of the living. He called out passively to the old soul burning within the nameless machine.

And all at once, it broke from its' comatose state in a flurry of motion and psychic backlash.

With the force of a lightning strike, the Epistolary was sent reeling from the Leviathans' mind, his physical body recoiled from the sarcophagus and was flung to the far edge of the platform. A deep roar sounded as the engines of the beast blared into life and the machine shot static into the helms and sensors of all in the chamber. The Leviathan shook violently as it awoke, breaking what few chains were left uncut by the servitors and sending the debris flying high the air, and all at once the juggernaut was on it's massive feet, the once blank eye lenses now burning with a baleful malefic glow.

The space marines hastily brought their weapons to bare, ready to fire at the behemoth. But Ohen was at once back to his feet and held up his hand, "WAIT." he bellowed into their minds.

With deliberate, slow steps, the librarian approached the dreadnought, its' massive bulk swinging from side to side as it spun around the room, seemingly taking in every detail.

It was confused. The Librarian thought.

"Starovehk" he called as he tore off his helm to reveal his sharp, craggy features.

It turned fully to face him, regarding the marines standing with their weapons still at the ready behind the small thing that called him.

The huge claw that was its' right hand churned.

" brother, we have awakened you so that you might aid us in our chapters most desperate of times. Can you hear me, Starovehk?"

The engine slowed and the dreadnoughts constant shifting eased just a little.

"what is your name, Starovehk?"

There was silence once more, a long pause as it thought, before the dilapidated vox casters in the Leviathans' sarcophagus clicked into life.

** hissing and static**

"Starovehk..... Nekine...... Kazatel..... 7th...... company...... first, squad.......

I...... serve.... again.. my brothers."

Cerna Ohen let out a thin smile.

in addition to mending that, i'll be magnetizing the weapons arms so that when i can afford to i can get my hands on another storm cannon and claw.

i also need to find his base, dunno where it went....

The arms are magnetized, so their positioning can be altered, this also means the power feeds and backings that go behind the shoulder joint need to be modified to be removable, will do that at a later point down the road.
