Oh and i changed their eyes to blue, because i'd discovered that the other knights had blue eyes, my bad.

The long taloned claws shone as they cleaved through power armor, tearing at the long dead carcass inside as they sequestered for flesh rotten off the bone ages earlier. The drones absent mindedly bit and scratched at the terminators' corpse and one another, without purpose, their only drive the ravenous hunger that consumed their minds.

The blood soaked Reaver came crashing into the room of genestealers through a rusting sealed bulk head, the remains of an alien from the corridor behind him stuck through on his own shimmering claws. The room filled with the screams of bewildered tyranids as the whirlwind of blue blades drove through Xenos carapace at a furious pace, in kind, the genestealers threw themselves at their next potential meal, mindless hunger beating out any senses of self preservation, and they paid dearly for it. In scant minutes, two dozen of the creatures lay strewn across the old gun deck, blood pooling about their steaming ruin. Ignoring his own handiwork,and the screeching voices of hunger panging in his mind afresh, the terminator turned to his right, taking in the details of his fallen cousin and the cramped room. A sergeant, lacquered green armor, embellishments of fire and drake scale, a masterwork flamer mounted at the wrist and a half of a power sword broken in his other hand, Rano didn't need to see the icon on the dead marines' pauldron to identify this one, Firedrake. Salamander. Friend. The child of Tundara stepped forward and stared, the cracked and scratched gold trim, the gnawed and splintered wrist, the remnants of a bionic leg ending at the thigh plate, wires and metal struts prodding out at odd angles. His eyes were drawn endlessly to the gaping hole in which a helmet, and head, had once been..... black, empty, bottomless even in the light of his armor.... He felt chilled, cold, and dead. As dead as the rest of his siblings in the squad. As dead as the eyes of the Librarian he had been reassigned to protect, his marker but a short distance away in the cramped confines of the godless son. He let his mind wander to the olden days, before their excommunication, when the other chapters had looked upon the Knights with less contempt, least amongst them the Salamanders of the 5th company, all those long centuries ago.....

as usual, my pros and cons (always good to review ones' own work after the fact, helps to identify future spots to improve on)

-overall okay main armor color, not sure if it's in the green family yet, but it'll get there (hopefully)

-main armor highlights are good

-the trim on the paulrons needs to be SO much smoother

-lightning claws are okay, me thinks. blue should do fine for the rest of the power weapons as well

-base is passable

-gold could use some more definition

-helmet, ehh, kept screwing up the right eye, so i made it look like he'd got a bad gash on it, the definition on the shadows is good though, and his other eye is nice too...

-gems probably lack shine,as i've noticed,as they are just plain yellow, may wanna experiment with how i'm, doing them so that they look more nice, like the BA ones...

overall, not unhappy with any portions to the point of redoing them, but the carapace mounted light is bugging me now that i see how i neglected to paint it....

It was a breeze, the highlighting is easy, and the gold were not lacking for detail, only advice i'd give is be careful on the little scratches and torn armor plates, i missed one on his right leg, and have yet to remedy it. :)

I'm thinkin' custom ranged weapon to replace that "wimpy" battle-cannon, and a modified CC weapon with a longer arm, so he can ACTUALLY REACH SOMETHING.

Alrighty, so as the title suggests, this'll be a... pre-update... update? What is that even supposed to mean?!?

Well, with school being hell hectic, my free time went from a solid hour/hour-thirty a night, to zilch, which means, well, no content!

This got me thinkin' (how very dangerous of me, i know) i need something to put up, but i ain't got jack done....

well, spring break is here, and i got a little time out there today, so after i got home, i promptly ate, went out to the room, researched/theorized about how to design the knight and go about chopping him up and putting him back together, and subsequently messing up the head on one of the trio of Termies as i was painting him, setbacks suck!

In order to get SOMETHING postable, i turned to what i've already got done, so without further ado, progress on a microscopic scale!!!

The title of warden falls to those who bear the heavy armaments of a terminator squad into battle, traditionally, it was an honor to be trusted with such weapons for their destructive power and capable potential. But since the degradation of the chapters' gene-seed, weapons of mass destruction are viewed with scorn, as they bring only an unbearable weight upon the psyches of their users. Evhest is the eldest of Casen Iordan, and had volunteered to bear the brunt of the wardens' title, not wishing for his brothers to suffer the repercussions of killing too deeply.

Quiet and under-spoken, the old veteran holds his duty to his family above all else, with the chapters' future at stake, he is willing to sacrifice his life, limbs, and his own sanity for his brothers and chapters' continued survival. Aboard the godless son Evhest often leads the spearhead in larger corridors, cleansing the xenos in due process with calculated use of the assault cannon mounted to his left arm. But evhest is most known for his willingness to smash into the genestealers with his power-fist, or the churning barrel of the heavy weapon itself, pulping and grinding xenos without worry of the deadly claws of the monstrosities, which had earned him the title of the steel hurricane.

Marching steadily down the corridor, the hulking terminator unleashed another salvo into the enemy, rust colored carapace cracked and splintered as the soft flesh beneath it was torn to shreds, sending the another gene-stealer spinning backwards, its' arms flailing and lower jaw flying into the dark corridor behind it. The monstrosities hurried on, trampling their kin in an effort to get at the space marine, caked in blood and covered in rends and cracks in his drab armor. Calmly, Evhest let go of the trigger and kept the barrels of the weapon turning, its' machine spirit growled in apprehension as it awaited the inevitable next move. As the next pair of taloned arms reached for Evhests' helm, he swung the assault cannon in an arc, re-pulling the trigger as he did so, between the force of the impact, the whirling barrels of the weapon, and the power fist that crackled behind it in an upper cut swing, the Tyranid was vaporized in a shower of gore. Behind it, its' brood-kin fared little better, the storm of shells newly spat from the angered machine punching straight through filth and chitin as a tempest storm pulls up trees and detritus and flings them aside.

22 screeching voices filled the mind of the ancient soldier from the stars. Their cries ever so slowly dying away, too slowly, Evhest staggered on his feet, the sheer bulk of his armor in the confines of the space hulk maintaining his posture, if there'd been a broodlord amongst them, he feared he may not have been able to remain aware of his surroundings, let alone conscious.

standing still for another moment as the cries began to die away again, Evhest noted the updated objective log between his brothers' squad, without a word, he and his brothers, scattered among the rusted, dreary nooks and crannies of the godless son, moved toward their destination, a rendezvous with the psyker.

-still not set with the whites, working on it!

-that was probably the best power fist i've ever painted, hands down!

-the eyes wer rather lack lustre

-sharpie on the shoulder pad was sloppy

-overall highlights were good IMO

-i remembered the headlight!

If you've noticed, i'd switched over to a new style of setup for pic taking, thanks to the black inner boxes for the riptide and the imperial knight kits, which is working pretty good, if i do say so myself, (other than light balance, of course) So, with that being said, i continued the little bit i'd done for mr. Shredder-nator, but with some old and new pals!

(hope y'all like the shrine i kinda threw in there, it was a last minute idea that i'm really happy i made)

i'm thinking of going with either a riverbed kinda look, or a thin choke point on the mountainous terrain of Roshen (the planet that the remnants of the chapter sans the space hulk folks are fighting on) if i go with riverbed, then i can try out some more of the river effects stuff i've bought long, long ago (3-4 years?) for a steampunk warship project....

any-who, if y'all have noticed, there aren't the traditional 2 big, open spots for the feet to sit on, and, well, that's because of how "drastically" i plan on changing the model. Those of you who've had the luck of putting one of these guys together would recognize the small issue of the knee joint being solid, as the legs themselves are 2 halves... well that just won't do for me, see? so i gotta be cutting that joint apart, and repose the living hell outta him so he's confidently striding along the rough, rocky terrain!

actually now, a full run-down of what i plan for him would be pretty good to get suggestions from, if y'all are up for it....

-base

-feet/lower legs

cut off toes, reposition and re-join into different configuration

build new "rear" toe

cut knee joint for repositioning

change piston lengths on feet based on new position

to summarize, He's gonna basically be a Baron-esque custom Freeblade minus the huge banner and allegiance to the Imperium.

there are going to be a whole lot of smaller alterations mixed into the 3-5 big changes, that should give the overall feel of the model a much more......... i don't know, robotic, less noble look to it? something i want to delve into story/background wise is why the pilot's deviated so far from the norms of the mechanicus (heresy, basically) and why he isn't with a house any more, got to figure that out still.

hmm, also, would like to figure out a way to mount this to a pauldron, because i really want to continue the theme of the Tundaran Knights as he's a permanent ally to them, so their actions and tendencies have probably found their way into his/its' own.

So yeah, i'm going to prioritize his construction from the base up, literally. after i finish any little extras on 'im, it's to the feet, which'll be quite the engineering challenge with the plans i have, he'll end up with a 3 pronged, chicken foot sorta look....

then the knee cutting...

ideas are more than welcome, especially about replacement weapons. cool as the kit ones are, i want something more unique, that isn't just a copy of the forge world weapons styles... kinda tough to figure out, really.

first, the feet.

gonna sculpt in the openings at the corners of the feet, and work out how i'm gonna remount the toes, probably with pieces of brass rod and plastic...

then i gotta make the rear toe too. however i do that is up for debate.

the thigh joint will have numerous brass rods to act as the pistons, replacing the kit provided one that sits up underneath the thigh. (which, although cool looking, wouldn't ideally provide the pushing power necessary for a knight titan to move it's upper leg out from the body, IMO.)

after cutting out the mesh part, i put in the gear bit, mounted to a piece of plastic rod to space it from the codpiece a little, it'll be receiving the thigh joint rods.
