I do soooo want that model. Anyone going to any Forge World events this year to get one for me?

So.

I had always envisaged Iron Warriors as eschewing sorecery and sorcerers, preferring to rely on their wargear to see them through. I feel that this concept is a little outdates, however is totally ingrained within my perception of the Legion, despite various appearances - there was a sorcerer in Storm of Iron, right? However he was portrayed as scheming. My sorcerous needs have so far been sated by my Thousand Sons, but I was wondering what background you have for socerers in your Grand Company? Do they lead? Are they an advisor? Do they create daemon engines? etc etc.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on Sorcerers in the IW.

Sorcerers, like daemons are tools to be used by the Iron Warriors. They wouldn't eschew use of them, but would keep them at arms length.

I have one Sorcerer who leads my Warp Talons. He is not my main power, more of a disruptive force deep striking behind enemy lines to sow fear and terror. Depending on the psychic powers he is gifted, he will either obliterate infantry or target a large vehicle. I have thought about building another terminator sorcerer but haven't made the move yet.

BTW, I literally just finish Storm of Iron again this morning. Still the best Iron Warrior novel in my opinion. Now onto Black Sky, Dead Sun.

We see in Storm of Iron & Dead Sky Black Sun that Sorcerer are use with in the Iron Warriors force.

For me, Sorcerer (still work names out for two them) in my own force are Advisor.  My recently who help support my Lord & Terminator bodyguard in games, I view him as a equerry to my Grand Company as well.

I don't see them as weak.  I see them as we see standard chaos marines, there still Legion warriors with strength of combat & like all Iron Warriors know there siege crafted very well.

Gaming wise, I have enjoyed adding the Terminator Sorcerer to my unit of Terminators with my Lord.  Looking forward to a game this week where I'll also be using the Mayhem formation so just to use those psychic power to help out both units when I need them.

I'm was on the same boat about foregoing sorcerers and the like with Iron Warriors. My thoughts have changed on them but I can easily imagine many within a Grand Company detesting them.

However, that should not stop a Warsmith from seeing them as a tool or weapon that can be used to achieve an end. Then disposed of when no longer of use.

Yea, I'm going to try and work them in alongside Warpsmiths as kind of...technomancers, aiding in the summoning and binding of Daemons into the machine.

I just dont see my IW relying on something as tempramental as the warp.

Maybe a pyromancer for welding duties, or a telepath for picking up machinery?

Why not? They have to to get anywhere anyway. I imagined my chief sorcerer to be a battle brother that gradually developed psychic abilities (for some chaotic reasons) and used them to his advantage. Actually, that's how I imagine non-thousand sons socerers.

If I ever build a sorcerer I want to mimic 1000heathens/hyaenidae and just have the fluff reflect that the warp manifested in an Iron Warrior, granting him powers to become an engine of destruction. That and a mix of being a alchemancer would be neat and I think more fitting for the IV Leigon.

*I've been digging around his Heresy Era Iron Warriors threads but have yet to find the post. He used a converted Valthex for the mini, speaking of "alchemancer".

We've now got a name for the new IW novel & possible a audio?  Also check out Scyllax Guardian Automata for servo arms :D

Well hello chaps.

It's near of decade since my recruitment into the IV. Every since 'Storm of Iron' i have been a member of the IV. Now i've had some practise i'm going to be making the army i've always drempt of doing.

In the meantime i thought i'd say hello and see what other members of the IV exist.
