LutherMax
You can ally in a Deathwatch squad with 2x shotguns and 2x frag cannons. Just drop them next to whatever you want dead. Panzer
Deathwatch are really awesome to ally in. As standalone army unfortunately not THAT much (still far from being weak tho). :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297201-ba-today/page/196/#findComment-4637570 Share on other sites
Arkangilos
So would you all say to always replace the storm Bolter on our dreads? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297201-ba-today/page/196/#findComment-4637699 Share on other sites
Chaplain Gunzhard
So would you all say to always replace the storm Bolter on our dreads? On a Fragioso I definitely go with Heavy Flamer but otherwise... nah, Dreads are already too expensive and die way too easy - imo. Tyriks
So would you all say to always replace the storm Bolter on our dreads? Not always... on a cc dread might as well, since if he's out of range of a melta/flamer he's doing nothing anyway. But a regular dread with a ranged inclination I try to keep cheap (and then on a cc dread if I just don't have points). Charlo
Game against the deathwatch with massed dreads was bloody as hell, and an eventual loss for the Sanguine Vision, mainly due to how dreads are awful at objectives (and the cards were not kind). He had: 5 Vets with 2 Heavy Bolters in a Rhino 5 Vets with 2 Frag Cannons in a Rhino 5 Vets with stalkers, missile launcher and biker attached 3 naked terminators 2 naked terminators MM Dread in a pod Captain with jump pack and power sword Bike squad of 3 guys Vet squad with Vanguard attached who had a fist in a corvus black star. So lots of MSU, because I had dreads his special ammo was useless mostly. I had: ML2 Libby Dread with Melta Gun (fearless warlord trait, shield of Sanguinius & unleash rage) ML2 Libby Dread with Melta Gun (blood Lance & unleash rage) Fragioso Cassor Kheres Contemptor Grav Bike Squad Deredeo Vindicator All dreads are in pods. I let him have first turn so I could react with pods. It was just a game of him killing dreads where he could, and where he didn't they ended him. I really missed the I5 from the BSF on Cassor as he would have otherwise lived... He had a lot more opportunity to score points as dreads aren't good at that. His corvus came in and nailed the Deredeo (no sky fire that turn) and after this I no longer had the power to table him and was losing on objectives. At the end of the game he had a pod and the corvus left, 11/9 to him on objectives. The Vindicator was hilariously bad, unless you count its ability to shake an enemy vehicle, oh boy! Was a great game though, but 3 is the definite sweet spot for pods in 1500. Xenith
I like the mixing in of the old metal termies, Spagunk. I didn't notice at first glance, it's great to know they don't stick out like a sore thumb against the newer plastics. I traded out the old metal arms with plastic which is why I also have FW pads mixed in (didn't have enough to go around). Spagunk
Incidentally, the squad sarge was by far the most interesting model in the whole box. So full of character that everything else in the box looks plain in comparison. On Par with Captain Karl or the SM Termie Captain. I think that they should have pushed a bit more onto the normal termies to help. Alas, we get what we get... Charlo
Are the space hulk termies worth the extra price? Oh my lord yes. The basic shooty terminator kits is (in my opinion) one of the absolute worst currently in the game. Especially when you compare it to our other kits, they're just so bland! The Space Hulk ones actually make me quite like Indomitus pattern TDA. Xenith
Are the space hulk termies worth the extra price? There isn't really any extra price. Space Hulk is £75 for 12 Terminators including a Librarian Terminator. Normal price for 10x Blood Angels Terminators + Librarian is £88 If you can't find a local store that has them, then just get the regular temie boxes. All the details from the BA termies are found on the SH termies, so you can make very similar units. Only problem is that the BA termies are assault termies only. SH gets you shooty termies. Or get 1 box of BA termies, and 1 box of regular. Spagunk
Shooty arms are quite compatible with the BA assault termies. The torsos are...difficult to mix and match. Intermediate hobbiest should be able to handle it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297201-ba-today/page/196/#findComment-4639219 Share on other sites
