God, that is :cuss beautiful!  The white lettering is so neat and perfect, I have no idea how you do that!  Are the symbols freehand or transfers?

Ace as always Luther! I love the white, a great Ode to the Carmine Blades

Seriously though, great. Also after my games yesterday I picked up the Audio Book: Virtue of the Sons; Sins of the Father. It has been really good so far. I know its just echoing what others have said, but I feel like (so far) it really has done the BA a great deal of justice! And its worth the price tag.

To elaborate on my two games, (I go over my loses in my head afterwards to replay the moves an what I should've done) We drew long table edges, so I had to hike up the board to get into range. With the massive amounts of Grav it took a lot out of my forces turn 1 in Game 1. I whiffed on some key wounds. I also rolled a 2 and twin linked into a 1 on my las/plas back and then rolled a 1 on the gets hot roll and turned my own back into slag. ( I chalk it up to needing to finish painting the models, possibly getting new dice!) In game 2 I took the Storm raven and it did tons of damage, it just didn't come in until turn 4 but straight up ate through his Robots.

Needless to say, I've gained some much needed enthusiasm again towards building and painting and getting these boys in red ready. (On a side note I really want to build an allied detachment of Flesh Tearers//Angels Sanguine//Insert BA chapter, I've been thinking about bringing back the Vermillion Tears with an updated paint scheme. Possibly going darker in red, a la flesh tearers.

I also play AdMech, so I know how those first turns go.  It's brutal.  You basically have to hide if you aren't going first, especially with our CC oriented army.  That, or try to get something in his face (like CC scouts or something infiltrating up) to try to mess with his target priority.  Canticles making all that grav twin linked (or doctrinas getting BS up to 6/7) makes surviving that first round of shooting with a working army a nightmare.

Thanks Lemartes! I drilled a hole in the bottom of the head and glued a piece of paper clip into it so I could stick it in a cork and paint it separately. Then I drilled a hole in the sarcophagus and dropped the head in, then glued the front plate on. With the front plate on the head can't be removed so there was no need to glue it, and it can still be moved from side to side.

Is there any reason to get the BA sternguard over the normal sternguard?

You get a BA upgrade kit without the hassle of purchasing it separately.

Oh so it isn't worth it if I can get the sternguard for 45% off I guess.

You're effectively getting the BA upgrade sprue for £5 instead of £8, so saving £3.

45% of £30 is £13.50 so even if you paid full price for an upgrade sprue (total £21.50) you're still better off!

Isn't the upgrade sprue pretty lacklustre? I already have my sanguinary priest so I have no use for the chalice ... The heads look OK but so do the normal sternguard ones.

I love the upgrade sprue personally, the shoulder pads are far better than the ones that come in our other kits.

Hmm, most do, but there's also a few where the bling isn't particularly well thought out imo either with design or placement (and I feel that way about all the sets).

To the sprue as a whole I'm ambivalent - how many of us don't already have Death Mask heads? How many of the exact same chalic in hand bit do you needNot a fan of the bare head or the helmet which seems to have had the back of a Death Mask stuck on top of it. Conversely the winged skull icon and ornamental dagger are really cool.

The upgrade sprues are usually for people who already had a bunch of models at the time GW released the BA packs. Or simply for people who want to do conversions.

If you only start with BA and can easily buy the BA packs you rarely need the upgrade sprues at all. ;)

I saw someone take a chalice that was split down the middle into halves, like the recent space hulk bit, and put the halves on vehicles to look like relief artwork.

Since it comes in halves already it is very easy to make a press-mold with to use wherever. I did just that for my Fortress of Redemption: http://atticwars40k.blogspot.com/2011/10/blood-angels-fortress-of-redemption.html

Great @ the Gerantius PDF a 3++ knight is nothing to sneeze at.

Received my Seal of Baal shirt today.

Fresh from UK i thought the red was a little darker on the catalouge pictures and the symbol is very big but i´m happy with it.

Thanking Sagnuinus that the size fits. :D
