I think I am going to get an auto cannon pred for now.  If I'm feeling crafty I might try to magnetize the main gun so I could use the extra asscannon from my Baal kit to swap it out if need be (and just leave the ammo cases off).  But I almost always play Guard, Tau or Eldar so the auto cannon seems pretty good for its price, since outflanking should virtually guarantee a shot on rear/side armor.  Then again, lascannons are twin-linked and even if I don't have any rear/side shots it can still get the job done...

Thanks guys! I think I got this!

Make sure you try and Deny sanctuary on Dreadknights - if your opponent is rolling well it's extremely frustrating to pile on wounds that get through the 2+ only for the buffed Inv save to ruin everything :tongue.:

My main issue with Dreadknights is the formation that allows them to come in from reserve from Turn 1, so make sure you deploy accordingly - don't leave them deepstrike room behind your forces to hit rear armour. They can kick out a lot of shooting damage but as mentioned they are only Toughness 6 and you can mob them with DC and tear them down with hidden powerfists and such. Good luck! :smile.:

Picked up the codex: marine command squad with captain for $30, worth it for nothing more than that captain model. Really fancy the stance, and a death mask might look ace on the head swap.

Goal is to have an interchangeable Plasma/Meltacide command squad.

Have you considered the BA upgrade sprue to go with that? Would recommend as it works quite well. Edited by Jolemai

So just a bit of an update regarding my recently painted termies.

The reason why I painted them is that on another forum we had a contest. The idea is paint a squad of dudes (any game) per month. 10 min infantry was my entry. However in the rules it specified that I had to quote the original vow. I neglected to do this (along with 4 other people out of 6 people) which disqualified my vow for the contest.

I am pretty angry about this since the contest guy had a whole day to let us know we were doing the wrong thing but stayed silent. However I am more angry because that was 400 points of men I could have used for my ETL this year. :furious::furious::furious::furious::furious:

Really salty right now.

For what it's worth, it's not easy running events (was a raid and guild leader on EQ2 for ten years prior to this so I have some experience). I try to make sure everything is as professional and water-tight as possible to avoid any problems but it's so easy to overlook something - especially the obvious stuff.

I know it's annoying but try not to get on his back about it and give him some support in the next event (if he goes ahead with it).

This, of course, assumes he knows he messed up and it's just being an arrogant [expletive deleted]

Well, he sort of did. He posted details to start the Feb painting contest and stated that those who failed in January still count towards the big contest where the person with the most completed painted mini's wins a big prize. So even though we miss out on Jan's prize, it will still count for the yearly competition.

So I have lined up two items that I wasn't going to use in the ETL: a drop pod and a storm hawk. This will be my Feb and March vow. The contest is 10 infantry or 3 big models (killa kans, ogres etc, centurions etc.) or 1 vehicle. DP is only 30-40 pts and a storm hawk isn't a valid BA entry. For only 40 pts, the Drop pod is really a very point inefficient model for the ETL .

Damn i didn't expect to see that lol
Looks Dreadnought size....maybe the rumour about a Primarch in a Dreadnought was true after all. :biggrin.:
(I don't think he looks too terrible tbh)

Also do the two models to his right and left already exist? If not they could be the new "3-Hero" boxset with the Greyknight being the one teased from the rumour engine. :D

Yep Cypher looks great, and the other March marine models too. Kinda annoyed about Cypher cos I was gonna kitbash one and now there's no point as I won't make one better than that.

I wouldn't say Guilliman is terrible but I certainly don't like the model and, to be honest, I wish they would leave the Primarchs to FW and resin. Why do we need both anyway?
