LoS-blocking is crucial for us, I find.

Razorbacks are amazing because

1. Dakka dakka dakka

2. They are cheaper than Predators

3. You’re probably already taking them

Rhinos get the job done cheaply and gorgeously expendable especially when eating overwatch. Honestly, they are typically so non-threatening when empty that a lot of opponents may skip shooting them (to their demise when what they are protecting dropkick their faces in).

The single best piece of mobile LoS blocking is a Land Raider. They are bulky enough to protect even other vehicles and are tall enough to block enemy LoS on Dreadnoughts as well (as long as there is not some crazy church tower of something that gives amazing vertical angles).

Since you now measure shooting from the hull, always be sure to drive things up sideways (silly, but crunchy)!

^^

Not Silly -

Even just screening and storm boltering with advancing rhino (armour) regardless of LOS benefits is good stuff.

Being the charger and not the charged is critical.

I do enjoy the occasional charge from behind a poorly charging rhino or other tank to deny overwatch when things are close too ;)

Kinda Silly -

That sideaways positioning is the difficult to perform Slalom Skid Serpentine Toyko Drift Assault Maneuver in action.

Further Silly =)

Takes years of training and nerves of steel to pull off reliably without rolling or losing tracks on the tank...

Not to mention coordinating with the other drivers in the formation doing the same...

Keeps the enemy gunners guessing at which way the tanks are going n stuff when done properly. *nod

You just helped my morning get off on the right foot!

“And then the Emperor of Mankind spake:

‘These are my finest warriors, the Adeptus Astartes, the Angels of Death, the Space Marines. They shall be clad in the finest armor, be given the finest weapons, and shall be trained in the holy techniques of the Slalom Skid Serpentine Toyko Drift Assault Maneuver when assaulting enemy positions.’”

If you were wanting to do a faded decal, say one of the company markings and wanted it to look scratched off or smeared from battle would you simply seal the transfer on and then take a sponge with the base color of the armor and lightly dab it in one direction or the other? I think I've seen either LutherMax or one of the other Frater do a great job with that.

In today’s multiplayer game, mephiston killed a doomsday ark, a chaos marines squad, 2 obliterators, and a necron lord on chariot thingy. In that order. I am now a believer in the mephiston pod bomb.

He basically secured a quarter of the board on his own, and by the end of the game, the opponents stopped shooting my partners tanks to go after mephiston. Dank.

That basecoat's a really nice red, what is it?

I'm doing Khorne Red over Vallejo black primer.

We got us some intercessor power swords now. You've no idea how happy this makes me lol!

Where are you seeing this at? I don't see a new FAQ posted.

Huh, interesting. I tried Khorne red when it first came out and it was nowhere near that purple-tinged (which I would have been really on board with). It looks good.

I’m using Khorne red over chaos black primer for my basecoat as well. I rather like it, then ‘base’ highlights with Wazzdakka red and final highlights with evil sunz skarlet. It comes out really nice. Edited by Paladin777

I'm really happy with it myself. I actually like it so much that it's helping to me stay on track with my painting- my brighter reds always looked sort of shabby and I would get frustrated previously.

I was actually inspired by the Citadel Paint App if anyone is curious. I'm using a very slightly modifed version of their recipe for Flesh Tearers, the main difference being that I use Wild Rider Red for highlighting. I'm a big fan of that app in general because it's been giving me some great ideas for how to paint different things.

Edit: To expand on what I was saying, it really made a difference for me in how happy I am with my painting once I gave up on doing things how I'm "supposed" to do them. A little bit of extra effort to try to really make your models your own goes a  really long way.

Exactly that, with metallic chipping to taste. Check a page back in my plog where I did that but with freehand rather than transfers.

Edit: Powerswords, yes! That cheap upgrade gives an intercessor squad so much more bite.
