To be honest, my firstborn are slowly being converted into spare parts. It's sad, but on the other hand I much prefer the bigger size of the Primaris range. I'm planning on salvaging as much as possible though. Weapons, backpacks and heads are obvious and easy to use. But I'm also doing torsos' and arms' enlargements from time to time.

Took a bit of a trip down memory lane when I ran across the box containing my discarded Blood Drinkers 2nd Company project. I hadn't gotten very far, but, I did more work on them than I remembered. Sadly, I'm not too sure what to do with them now.

Depends on the amount and what state they are in. Perhaps a Kill Team if small or maybe a small force? Just round it off if you want to finish them

Like Jole said and Ink have said Kill Team is an option. If you play Dark Heresy or a 40k based D&D/Pathfinder style campaign you can use some of them as NPCs and your main character.

You can always play older editions, or turn them into Lamenters to participate in the Badab Wars. Or leave them as Blood Drinkers and play them in Heresy, or pre indomitus era campaigns.

The good thing about campaigns and narrative based things is you can always find a niche for older models.

Kill Team sounds like a good idea, I've got around 60 Firstborn that I'd need to redo the bases as most of them are on the old, smaller bases...and focus on a different successor chapter as thanks to the novel "Death of Integrity" I didn't want to work on my Blood Drinkers anymore.

Flesh Eaters are out, as I've got a plan formulating for them...However, a Charnel Guard and/or Angels Encarmine Kill Team sounds fun.

I may be selling my first born carmine blades soon. It's a love it or list it mentality...and the 30k Firstborn look so damn good. Sigh...I've got a decision to make soon.

Ultimately I'm staying away from 40k for now though. I'm probably not getting back in until 10th kicks off...and we are probably going to use 7th edition or HH 2.0 for our badab wars that is upcoming and I've decided to dip my toe into Mantis Warriors rather than Lamenters again.

Speaking of Kill Team:

I might actually join this one. I've recently formulated a plan to create some "spare" members of my 5th Company for extra WYSIWYG options (an partly for fun, like the flamer dude). I might just as well have some extra fun and tackle this in a Kill Team format.

Black Templar theme continues - just ordered Bayard. We'll make a fine Blood Angel out of him yet

I really think that the new Black Templar stuff just really knocked the Grim Dark theme right out of the park. Slap on some blood drop bits and you have some awesome knightly space vampires.

Still recovering from minor surgery on one of my fingers and haven't been able to do anything hobbywise for over a week now. Thankfully got the wrapping removed yesterday and that freed up my hand a little bit, so, I finally managed to get my shipment of JoyToy Blood Angels opened up and was able to (very carefully) check them out.

I really like these figures. Quality and articulation is pretty awesome. Though, swapping the heads on the Death Company was a pain. Granted, that could just be because I couldn't get a proper grip on them.

Not sure when they'll arrive, but, I'm really looking forwards to receiving Tolmeron, the Dreads, and Paragons of Baal.

Spoiler

So, I'm trying to get my games to run a bit smoother with less rules look-ups and I was wondering if any of you happened to know of a source of in game effect tokens (either paper-printable or 3d/physically purchasable)? I realise I could just sit down and type out all the possible effects and make some markers, but it seems to me that would be duplicating the work someone else has done (probably better too!). I had a look through the resources section, and a fair bit of googling has found nothing ba specific (with our psy powers etc) although I can find generic marines, templars etc.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Is this just for locals or are you looking towards event play? Is it BA specifically or are we talking about for both players?

The data card sets usually help for powers, stratagems etc. In the past, before GW started making those there was a guy at our locals that would draw fancy artwork on a 2"×4" note card and laminate it for effects in WHFB on magic abilities.

Etsy has a lot of good stuff. And some of the old table top companies such as Gale Force 9 offer a wide variety of in game markers to represent actions.

I would 100% grab some book tabs and/or create a "cheat" sheet or reference page/sheet for your more used abilities/things. Or just type up some stuff on  note cards and laminate them.

I also advocate for timing yourself, playing with a timer or setting a deadline helps speed up play and makes things feel smoother. As long as you have someone that knows most of their stuff this can be done.

Local mainly, I do have the stratagem cards etc and made up some nice mission secondary cards but I was playing a necron guy who pinged out all his +1a, -1t, etc game effect tokens and was wondering if someone had done similar for ba.

I'd look on etsy for that stuff. There's tons of random in ge tools people make and sell I'd be surprised if they didn't offer some form of those game tokens. I know GF9 offers a lot of that stuff. They have kits for popping smoke, crew stunned/shaken etc from older editions or to represent wreaked vehicles. I'd look them up.

Nothing beats Charlo's rampaging Chaplain on Bike that wreaked Havoc in the FoB a few years ago. I guess I'm always stuck with thinking of that when I see Chaplain on Bike!

Good old Chaplain Darr Knigh.

He didn't ask if he should or could bring his bike to the Feast.

I should really let him Cross the Rubicon....
