Really like 'em chap - also had a few amusing moments working out the RL names for the Sgts/Characters - if I've got it right we have: Joseph Stalin, Saddam Hussein, Zyklon B, Sarin Gas, Mussolini, Muamar Gaddafi, Pol Pott, Nichaolau Chaucesqu (sp?), Francisco Franco and Kim-Il Sung - not the foggiest about Radolf Gog (unless it's Hitler but based on how close the others are it's a little stretching).

The army is composed with 3 forces, the personal retinue of the archmagos himself who recently rose to power, the combined forces of the other followers of the omnissiah on the planet and the knights who answered the call of their masters. That aside, if there's a little bit too much giant robots going on I could remove 2 of the knights and go with a more normal list.

I have no doubt brother, I too am engaged in a ship action (zone mortalis campaign). Filthy Xenos and traitors beware the glorious VIIth are pushing back the boundarys of the Emperors glorious Imperium.

We received our Epic miniatures a little late, so I will be spending the weekend painting and converting the appropriate units. I will take board placement pictures every turn and should be able to do priliminary shots monday, and will recollect the rolls and drame of the first meetup!

 

We decided deploy using a fog of war style deployment. Each player begins the game with his Headquarters hex tile. We roll a D20 every turn for Initiative to determine turn order. The players then decide in which direction they move their units from the home tile and add tiles in the appropirate direction.

 

At the end of each turn, each player then rolls a D6 for discovery. Each player that rolls the same result automatically finds the other. It is possible for several players to find each other. Allies get to choose how they link up their tiles (the link cannot be established on a HQ tile), enemies must link in a way to maximize the distance inbetween their HQ tile. This discovery process is repeated until all Players are linked in 1 tile set.

Raven Guard
Gather Intelligence - Raven Guard can add +1 or -1 to Initiative or discovery rolls made by his allies or himself. they can support from 2 hexes away if they have enough movement to do so.

Coordinated Strike - Raven Guard may reroll reserve rolls, successful or failed.

 

Night Lords

A little gift for you! - Night Lords can buy Tarantula sentry guns with their foritification points at 25% discount
There's something in the air ... - Night Lords can drop Phosphex bombs in hexes where they are engaged, at the cost of 75 fortification points per bomb.

 

Iron Warriors
Trench Warfare - Iron warriors get a 25% pts discount on Aegis Defence lines and Wall of the Martyr.
Might of the Stor-Bezashk - Once per shooting phase, Iron Warriors may reroll a scatter dice.

 

The Mechanicum
Waste not! - For each Legion Astartes infantry unit slain in a winning battle, the Mechanicum can generate D10  Laslock Tech-Thralls.
