Edit: That said, here is the Dread I have Pledged. Would have used an Alpha Legion Specific one but, it ain't out yet and It might come out too close to the end of the challenge and defeat the purpose of having 1 month for a single figure :p ...Also, I had this one lying around with a still undecided fate. It appeared more purple than blue for me. In then end I ended up creating my own washes/glazes out of Dark Angels green and Necron Abyss. Slips Posted November 2, 2014 Share Posted November 2, 2014 Oh, Purple is just as good for me! Was going to try a have parts be Metallic Blue with others Metallic Amethyst. Having the whole thing be a singular, dark, metallic purple speaks to me more. May add some Carroburg Crimson to it to give it a redder tone. It is a World Eaters Mk II veteran helmet, i scraped out the middle and trimmed a Mk IV respirator to fit the gap. The optic is made from a Anvil industry sniper scope that came with his rifle and the small optics on the left from Chaos Warpsmith. Hope this helps and pleased you like it. Kizzdougs Posted November 2, 2014 Share Posted November 2, 2014 Mind sharing How you got that Purple? The purple was three coats of Druchii Violet over a base coat of Ironbreaker. I added a single layer of Guilliman Blue as well but it didn't really add that much to the effect. Mind sharing how you did the blue!? Each leg was painted slightly differently; the right leg was three coats of Guilliman Blue over the Ironbreaker base coat. I then used Runefang Steel to add some edge highlights and finished the scheme off with some Tamiya Clear Green (a GW green glaze would work fine for this stage) over the raised areas. The Left leg was three coats of Tamiya Clear Blue (this was more difficult to use than the Guilliman Blue but I think the actual colour is nicer, more aquamarine). I then finished this leg off the same way as the other with the edge highlight and green glaze. Mind telling me how you got that silver! Note that this Astartes has the recently issued mkiv maximus armour (unknown chest plate modification) and standard armament of phobos pattern bolter.
