Quick update before beddy bye time, a little early wip on another tactical:

med_gallery_82040_10175_46325.jpg

I also just realized I teased my recon marines a while back and never actually took photos or wrote fluff for them. They are done, and photos shall be next on the list of things to do.

Nice work DimDim! I love the combination of MkIV and MkII armour pieces. They go together really well in this combination. I also like the contrast the red and white knee pad creates with the rest of the mini :tu:

Astartes junior officer Astaric Molon, Tactical combat team lead of the IX legion, Blood Angels.

…..

…..

This is the log of our final stand. To any who find this bearing the aquila, chase them to the gates of oblivion. If you follow the Warmaster; congratulations, you managed to fell the astarte known as Molon. Enjoy the days it will take you to identify your brothers among the remains of your dead we leave here.

…..

I along with five brothers of our fifth company and eight of the Imperial Fists have been cut off from the main body of taskforce Hellas after our last raid into traitor lines. Five of my brothers have already fallen, and we have begun barricading our fighting position in preparation for the assault that is sure to come as the traitors pursue our withdrawing brothers. All of us have taken the final oath of moment. Our deaths are sealed, and we shall take as many of their damned souls with us as we can. Pro nobis et sanguinem fundunt.

….

….

….

*Bolter fire, fragmentation, and general combat chatter clouds the background*

Kkkkk….traitors push hard for us Molon, shall we prep the kkkk….

A sigh can be overheard

Let it be so Yousef. We have bled as much as we can, and our munitions run low. When the magazines run dry, prep your blades. We shall not rain terror on them until my blade personally tastes the traitors blood.

Lets take them.

A second sigh

This is our final entry. We have held for six hours and many of our own have fallen. There are only three of us left, and our munitions run dry.

I only hope the others got out.

This recording was to be found upon the personal helm of astarte Astaric Molon of Nassir Amits fifth company of the Blood Angels legion. The broken bodies of Molon and his fellow martyrs were found beneath the rubble of a habitation block housing structure, surrounded by the fallen of the arch traitors legion. The building is believed to be brought down by krak grenade blasts. Due to the precise placement of the explosions, the toppling of the structure was believed intentional.

Death and honor Space Marine.

I had a great time building this guy from a huge amount of bits, and ive decided im going to add a tactical squad to my army made of marines that were recovered by my fist force during their raids, primarily the blood angels of the fifth company that would become the Flesh Tearers.

I built the knife to look like a special forces Karambit, an elite and specialist weapon yet it also has a savagery behind it. (Sort of like the blood angels eh? The aesthetic of the regal 3rd legion, the honor of my VIIth, and the savagery in CQC (in certain cases) of the XIIth) and I feel it fits the function over beauty of the Flesh tearers well.

@Dallo, Im probably going to use the red and white as a army linking marking. Should look good across everything.

To everyone else, thanks for the encouragement, I really appreciate it!

C&C welcome,

Looking good Dim! Are those legs converted to kneel, or are they stock? I'm looking forward to seeing what you produce for the ETL. Do you have any White Scars planned for your survivor squad? I'd like to see your take on a son of the Khan,

Keep up the good work.

No more! Stop it! Too many awesome Heresy Blood Angels are popping up and I already have enough on my plate as it is :( Kidding aside he looks great and I really like the dark red - how did you do it?

Well since my next task is Ultramarines that could spiral into an Imperium Secondus army with some Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Imperial Fists, Iron Hands and Iron Warriors (Dantioch and the remnants of his force). Bugger.

Shoulda saved him for March of the Legions v_v

Aweseomesauce none the less!

Lol thanks, and dont worry about MOTL, I still have an entire squad to build of these guys!

Those legs are actually the running mk6 legs from the vanguard vet pack cut up to kneel.

I definitely plan on adding some white scars, maybe not to this squad, but they will eventually show. For ETL I plan on pledging basically everything. Whether it gets don or not, thats another story!

Thanks, and I definitely think if you dont add a allied detachment you should still do up a couple marines in another legions livery. I keeps you from getting painter burnout on the legion you love!

The red is as follows:

-Black prime

-basecoat khorne red

-badab black wash all over

-re highlight khorne red

-black line the darkest recesses with vallejo black wash(its very thick, almost paint like and makes it great for dark lining shadows.) This step is not required, I just like the effect.

-final highlight of a 50/50 mix of khorne red and vallejo model color flat red on the highest points

And thats it, Hope it helps!

@Jimbo, the karambit is made out of the blades on a kroot rifle and the hilt of a combat blade. Rather simple but effective looking conversion!

Ok with that stated, heres a little update on a mock up of my templar brethren:

med_gallery_82040_10175_9283.jpg

Thoughts? I thought the templar being the elite of the legion would be equipped with the newest most advanced Armour, so I gave him MK4 instead of MK3.

Also when he gets based he'll be standing on the corpse of a traitor, and he will get a sculpted tabbard.

C&C please,

Thanks for the input and support guys! More below, but first....

I like it but, due to the Mk III Chest and Shoulders, he looks a bit Top Heavy...

Thanks slips I appreciate the input. Believe it or not thats what I was going for :tongue.:

I love when marines look bulky, and thats what I went for with these guys. I dont thinks its to bad though, but either way I just love those torsos and pads!

Very nice, Dim. Lovely pose. I'll be doing something similar with my Templars.

How many do you have planned?

Well im looking at doing about ten in the end, but at the current moment im building up five! Id love to see your templars when they show up on here!

Looking great Dim! I'm a fan of the Mk. IV. Where are the legs from?

Dallo

The legs are actually the running mk IV legs frrom the tactical set. I put them in boiling water for about 45 seconds and bent them into place. God I love FW resin and its reposability! If you did that with Finecast it would melt lol.

Here is the newest guy and an example of how I want my Templars to look like carrying shields:

med_gallery_82040_10175_3950.jpg

I went and replaced the pistol hand that is stupidly supposed to be placed at the end of the shield (I know its functional but it looks gross). So I replaced the bolt pistol with a closed fist as if he was gripping the handle of the shield.

EDIT* Completely forgot about this joker, almost ready for paint:

Yeah, I decided to use Tigrus Bolt Pistols over Phobos/Umbra for my Templar too. A lot less bulky and sleeker looking!

I finished a closet traitor (EHM, GREATEST OF THEM ALL:dry.: ):

med_gallery_82040_10175_5848.jpg

Dont you dare think I forgot about imperium secundus Guillimen, you blue bastard.

Rantings about the nefarious smurfs aside, I actually really enjoyed this job and made up the blue mix myself funnily enough. I would honestly consider doing up an allied force of ultras, primarily in MK2. Im thinking this guy will be a part of my command squad on the premise of a exchange marine, or he could fill the role as an HQ for an allied detachment. Either way I just painted him because he was part of my pledge for etl and I had the parts sitting around.

C&C?

The end of days has come.

Worlds and peoples are burning. At Istvaan III, and V the arch traitor Horus revealed his treachery in full colours, culling his own and and dealing a deathly blow to three loyal legions. Battle has been joined, and soon the fire of betrayal will consume all. Above the screams of the innocent, the chant of the righteous echoes through time.

Knights errant, swords in the dark, warrior monks before all else.

Templars.

The time for forgiveness has long passed. Now is the time of steel, fire, death.

Now is the time for war.

-Vid Capture F-8900, Assault on Shrine of the Thunder warriors…
gallery_82040_10175_30055.jpg

This vid capture depicts Sigismund, first captain of the Imperial Fists alongside his loyal knights Templar before their final assault on the shrine room of the passing meteor fortress dedicated to the long fallen heroes of the wars of unification. This archive contains some of the first recorded engagements of the horus heresy by the VIIth legion, as the shrine had been under guard by the now traitorous Word Bearers, sentenced to execution by Malcador the Sigillite and the Emperor himself. The final assault would be one of bloody struggle, with many of the Templars and men of Senechal Ranns company falling to the monstrosities unleashed upon them.

First five templars and Sigismund done! C&C?

Quick update: more paint!

med_gallery_82040_10175_35802.jpg

Heres my version of polux.

Besides the fact that he is missing some battle damage, a base, and his icon is painted to low on his pad(may or may not change that) Hes almost done!

Im glad Sigismund got the responce he did. Im not a huge fan of either of forgeworld renditions of the fists characters, but my opinion on the new sigi may change once I see him in person.

Comments and criticisms? I dont bite
