Brother Dallo
In response to the baseless rumours that this thread had died, here are some WIP bases. http://i.imgur.com/BEjJ7SGl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0CXK7W9l.jpg I started sculpting a MkIII gauntlet on my praetor/apothecary. http://i.imgur.com/ugFO4o9l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/MwnZ0w4l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6kCatMul.jpg I haven't had much sculpting experience before, but I think it looks ok. I'll add the trim and neaten up a few details later. Opinions? Stercus
Looks like you've got the gist of it. Nice work! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302878-ferrum-intra-in-the-footsteps-of-giants/page/3/#findComment-4016933 Share on other sites
Brother Dallo
Thanks Stercus. I hope to have him done for the start of May, as I plan to vow him as part of my ETL. I was going to vow him as a Narik Dreygur count as, but I realised that I can't, as he has no unit to go with, so he's not a legal unit. I'll probably call him a Praetor with powerfist, which is roughly the same in points. DimDim
I like the gauntlet! It feels a bit more like a mk2 gauntlet than a 3, but I feel mk2 fits better with the body youre using anyways! Brother Dallo
Thanks DimDim. I get what you mean, as it stands, it looks kinda like MkII, but that's only the first layer of greenstuff. I hope when I add the trim that it will look more like MkIII. I didn't want to break the golden rule of sculpting. When you're happy with something, stop! You'll invariably end up smudging it or getting a lovely fingerprint in it. I'm lucky that I only have to sculpt one gauntlet as the other hand will be a powerfist. I hope you like the finished MkIII once it's done. Your plog's looking good. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned for the ETL. Brother Dallo
Hey all. Real life's been eating my hobby time recently, but with the ETL, I decided it was a good time to try to finish my Praetor. The sculpting work is finished on his Gauntlet. http://i.imgur.com/8hRMHmdl.jpg I have a question for you guys. Powerfist one or two? They obviously need to be cleaned up, and I'll remove the wolf if I use the second one. http://i.imgur.com/GJ3m9Qul.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dKOqnnll.jpg Thanks guys. C&C welcome. Brother Dallo
I have completed my first, and final vow for ETL IV. DimDim
I like the choice to go with a fist as it really seems to add to the overall look of bulk to this beefy lad. I quite like him! Brother Dallo
Thanks DimDim. To be honest, I'm just happy that he's done. I tried to do some freehand on his shoulders, but I wasn't happy with it, so I left it off. I might come back to him after I've gotten a bit more practice. Stercus
That gauntlet turned out well. I like it! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/302878-ferrum-intra-in-the-footsteps-of-giants/page/3/#findComment-4147702 Share on other sites
Brother Dallo
Thanks Stercus. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Glad I only had to do the one, though. It would have been a nightmare trying to get two of them to match. Stercus
Tell me about it. I've just finished turning a load of sanguinary guard deathmasks into more normal helmets. It was a massive pain getting them consistent.
