Paint... Gotta get that ball rolling.. Lols

Finally got my Storm Blade up and running. It was this or a Typhon, and in the end this seemed like the better fit for a storied siege company. Nothing feels quite 'Great Crusade' like seeing on of these oldies in Legion colors :)

Replaced the heavy bolters with maxim bolters because it looked better. Pretty sure the flamers on the turrets are illegal, but I don't play games, so I couldn't care less

It was actually your huge collection of armor, Kurama that made me want to tackle something big on tracks. A fellblade or a glaive would have been more fun, likely, but everyone seems to go for those tanks when thinking big. Next will probably be a venerable malcador, converted for choom.

Hydra, you probably won't like it. It leaves big holes in the ground where meatbags once stood to cut up for your Reavers :P

The maxim bolters are from Mechanicum myrmidons :)

BECAUSE WHO NEEDS VOLKITE WHEN YOU CAN COLLAPSE AN ENTIRE FORTRESS WITH ONE SHOT?

It's a stormsword by the way, the stormblade is the one with the huge plasma cannon. And there are two rulesets for it; Warmachines of the Astra Militarum includes one set of sponsons with one heavy flamer and twin-linked heavy bolters on each side, which can be swapped for side armor 14; whereas Mont'ka comes more expensive without sponsons, two sets of which can be added, but with a lascannon instead of a heavy flamer.

Warmachines also calls its weapon the hellhammer cannon... which is now on the same-named super-heavy with a smaller blast, while the stormsword's primary weapon retains the Warmachines profile with a different name (stormsword siege cannon).

I could just picture a field war room of Guard officers ordering for super heavy support over the vox getting tripped up over the so similarly named tanks...

'Battalion 438! We require armored support. Forward your squadron of Stormbl-.. Storm swords. No! Storm hammers.. That can't be right.. Storm lords? I swear to the Emperor it was Storm something! Maybe it was Bane something! Bane lord? No.. Bane hammer?'

*camp is overrun*

Another big thing to smash through things:

A big ol' Knight Galant that will belong to loyal House Orhlacc. The fluff of these guys is awesome. A bunch of humans trying to adapt a poisonous planet to their biology and finally give up, adapting their biology to the planet instead. And they're suckers for wild, eccentric customization according to Book IV.Their purple scheme should pop nicely against the Sea Green and should be interesting to see how an attached contingent of them handles the drama of the Heresy being with Horus' Sons.

I figure many tables were flipped when a skyhammer orbital strike force was sent instead of the victory-giving annihilation force. tongue.png

NATURE: ONE, MANKIND: ZERO. WOULD YOU LIKE TO THROW SKYSCRAPER-SIZED ROBOTS AT LIFESTREAM-EATING CITIES TOO?

Bud even more amazeballs your on a roll!

Armour and fliers make a legion army especially when they have options for talons.

Nothing says heresy like 4 Land raider battle squadrons.

That's 12 Land raiders for Frick sakes

Okay. I've some experience with posed Knight legs, and I have to hand it to you. That pose is amazingly menacing and well executed to boot. So much personality by just tweaking the hips, knees, feet and one toe. I say "just tweaking" like it's some small feat. It's not. I know exactly how much work that was.

SO WORTH IT! The helmet conversion is inspired while staying in keeping with the existing designs, and using the FW had only enhances it.

This guy looks like he's going to slowly walk up to you, tear your heart out and eat it in front of your mother.

Really, I can't say it enough, I think this is the most effective leg pose I've seen yet. I wish I could see the hip bolts. Are you going to bother moving those?

Wow! The Knight Master himself! You've no idea how much that praise means to me, Jeff. Your queen set the bar for all of us to try and shoot for. The legs were quite the task, but I wanted that stalking forth feel, and I'm glad it caught with you. The hip bolts haven't been moved, but it's on the list. Might have to totally resculpt them. Nothing has been glued down yet aside from the legs, and the arms as separate pieces. I'll be referencing the crap out of your thread for paint tips. In fact, while originally remembering how you had to chop each piston near the ankles, I thought I'd fire from the hip and see where I got. Each cut and I had more and more respect for the amount of work you put into your repose. If GW added ball joints for the hips, and a few sets of different lengths in pistons and we would all be laughing!

I wanted the company standard to reflect the odd 200 years of victory, and it's transformation. It has the lightning bolts from the Unification. Aquilla heads for the Emperor, and the Great Crusade. The Iron Halo of the first Praetor of the chapter from which the company evolved out of. The serpentine Eye of Horus for when the Legion changed their livery. And hanging parchment naming their greatest victories and heroes.

Dude, that standard bearer is inspired!

I'm still trying to place all his bits ^_^

Thanks Lady!

Dude don't stop give us more hopefully your titan makes an appearance soon

Wow, that's some odd coincidence. I just gave the first (of 8!!) bags of resin a good scrub:

Very, very far away, but it's happening. Funny how painting scares me more than building a Reaver Titan :)

Next update will have pigments tho.

Your House Orhlacc Knight is brilliant. I love its head and the overall posing so much, and having learned about the House Orhlacc fluff now I'm itching to build an Orhlacc detachment too. (That won't happen though. I'll rather follow your thread with great curiosity.)

Glad you guys dig the Standard Bearer. A small (but important) update:

Early stages but it's exciting to see the layers of green go on as painting is my nemesis. Hope to have the big hunk of tank matching this guy:
