KBA's Heresy Thread

While the first adds to the ascetic of the countess, I believe it clashes with the industrial feel of the rogue trader and the platform itself. I definitely think the second head congeals better with the over all look

What about the bare head from eidolan? Has the arrogant look an RT would have, with a touch of the eccentric that the DE head has.

I agree with binary if you have that head kicking about!

Well that'll work :)

Excellent suggestion, binary! I'll be on the lookout for that head. Pretty much exactly what I'm looking for.

The death ask idea isn't bad either. I've entertained using a harlequin mask, but that's just too... Harlequin.

While the search continues for that pesky eidolon head, I've been up to some fun in the AoD forums in anticipation of ETL:

Priming imminent!

You could just buy Eidolon, use the bare head for your mini and use the helmeted head Eidolon comes with, for the Lord Commander himself, then vow him for ETL too?

‘To uphold the honor of my Legion, my Primarch, and my Emperor: on this oath I so swear’

The ink had faded through the consequences of war, but the words remained ever true; the seal clinging to the war-plate of Roka as he led brothers through breach. The Son of Horus darted past crossfire, smashing into cover like a comet as he rolled, a thick dust tail in his wake. He tasted blood on his smile for a brief moment before his superhuman physiology clotted whatever injury he sustained from the impact. Battle amused him. This battle especially amused him. The XIXth had delivered the glory of The Emperor to Istvaan III yet they had grown to reject his light. The time for illumination was over.

Roka’s top-knot cast a long shadow in late day rays as his Mark III helmet dared to asses his predicament, peeping over strewn rebar. His auto-senses made the whizzing munitions fire sound like xiphon engines as they screamed past his head. Stuck.

His squad had taken position at the mouth of the imploded wall twenty paces behind him, intent on steadily grasping victory instead of lunging for it as Roka had. Such was the burning lust to seize victory the closer it neared, the vice almost legion-wide. The crossfire intensified and the pinned legionary felt the rubble decay around him.

The Son of Horus’ smile returned.

Streaking through the atmosphere came a sable drop pod, its jet-stream billowing behind as it cut downward: a dagger from heaven. The transport’s reverse thrusters ignited, screeching the pod to crater the ground behind Roka’s squad. Even from his position, Roka could hear the famed guttural howls of Cthonia’s finest: the dreaded Justaerin. He could hear their heavy armor plating clang as they proudly strode from their pod. He could hear their chain-axes roar to life, thirsting to bite flesh and drink blood. He could hear… Screaming?

Confusion possessed Roka. He felt his body instinctively begin to rise. Above the blown-apart rockcrete and rebar from which he crouched. Into the crossfire as crude ballistics ricocheted off his sea-green plate. He rose. And yet everything within him fell. Twenty paces near, the hulking Justaerin cleaved, chopped, and butchered his brothers. Roka’s hand broke away from his bolter, painfully knowing it wasn’t up to task. He recited his oath as his hand moved towards the Terran gladius at his waist.

True-Scale SoH. I blame Luna mostly with his stellar Iron Hands. These are a direction I was headed for quite some time, and after getting fed up for the last time lengthening the normal marine legs, I finally made the switch :). On other fronts, Eidolon's neato head has been sourced and it is on its way. Pretty excited about that. And ETL ;)

This guy was really fun. He came together organically, pretty much like all the stuff I've done. Just grab some bitz and go kind of deal. This may be why he ended up with a bolt pistol on his belt despite the choom. Also: the new(ish) Space Marine kits offer my favorite heads ever. Really awesome stuff :)

I was going to use the relic body for display base detail, but enjoyed it more on the Fist contemptor. This one will be fun to paint :)

Hey, thanks for the huge complement, Psycho smile.png

I'm having an absolute blast working in true scale. Pumped to complete the squad!

Credit where credit due, mate! ;)

I think I speak for all of us when I say we're eager to see you finish off the squad.

Oh, that's a glorious choomtemptor brother. I humbly request that you pledge it for the AoD in the coming ETL (we have a roll call thread for all things choom). Failing that, the MDRC loves a good choomtemptor. :D

I really like what you've got going on here mate, the true scaling, the rogue trader, the little tweeks your making to the models. I fell your visions is close if the same in the way I want to approach my projects, I might have to bounce some ideas off you at some point. Keep it up mate.

This guy was fun to do. A pretty simple rank and file, but I do think that head makes him pop. I'm really liking the 'heroic scale' look with these types of true scale with the huge bodies/small heads. The art on the cover of Meduson is what I keep going back to.

Auxilia Ogryns! I always liked that you have the option of giving these brutes heavy bolters, so once those nifty Mars pattern HBs came out, I knew I wanted to take a stab at mashing it on an Ogryn.
