++Blood for the Blood God: Daemonkin community++

Also, it isn't as cool as the customized army roster link picture things that other people have made, but feel free to use the following as a member of the Khorne Daemonkin community until someone comes up with a better version:

I just yoinked the image and added a margin of the same color as the B&C background color.

Venomlust - Are you ok for me to add this to the first post?

Absolutely, if you think it's good enough.

I also made this as an alternate, in case you prefer it:

Hello again, bloodstained comrades.  I have a couple newb questions since I haven't touched a game of 40k in over 10 years.  They are all modeling/conversion related, though as I'm looking through eBay for some good bitz to convert and modify some things:

1) What size base is the Chaos Terminator Lord?  I found his base (a cool looking broken Chaos star molded base) and it looks awesome but I was going to use a regular (converted) CSM lord on it, would he be out of place on a much larger base?  Is that even legal?

2) Biker legs will work on a bike, but not on a Juggernaut correct?  My idea is to basically have multiple versions of my Chaos Lord that I can use as alternate characters or representing the same guy on foot, on a bike (thinking of making him look kinda like the White Scars commander but corrupted, with a Bloodglaive from the AoS Khorne models, since my Warband were White Scars successors), on a Juggernaut and finally as a Daemon Prince.  Should I look at a different type of legs for a Juggernaut, maybe Thunderwolf legs like Venomlust used on his awesome lord?

Basically I am scouring ebay for cool Chaos bitz on the cheap so I can build a bitz box but base sizes have changed since I last played and the assortment of bitz available is overwhelming; I'm trying to find similar helmets and the like so I can show my Lord's "evolution" at each stage.

You may want to also include a spawn option, if you end up running CSM he may spawn from time to time due to "blessings"

That is both hilarious and true!

1. You can use whatever base you want, within reason. Generally people expect you to use the bases that come in the box, but should be reasonable with alternatives if your model looks cool and you aren't blatantly modeling for advantage. I think the terminator lord uses a 40mm base, as standard for terminators. For a lord in power armor, that isn't a huge jump from the new 32mm standard.

2. Awesome idea. I want to do that for one of my own HQs but never found the motivation. I'd love to see you pull it off! As for the legs, biker legs won't work on a juggernaut. For simplicity and effectiveness, I found the TWC legs to be the best solution. Otherwise you'll have a model whose legs happen to be wide enough to fit on top of the jugger, but still in a standing pose so it won't look right. Of course, like myself and others you can actually make your lord stand on the jugger :D. The third option is to find the legs you like best and cut/reposition them into a proper riding pose. For a single centerpiece model I don't think it's an unreasonable amount of effort, but depends on your hobby skills and such.

Please keep in mind the mini of mine isn't a lord, just a biker champion at the end of the day. All my bikers will be riding juggernauts, so the TWC legs were crucial to finding an easy solution for that many models (24 or so, when finished). Only working with one mini like a juggerlord means (IMO) you should take the time and effort to craft the exact mini you desire and are capable of.

The second unit of Skullcrushers is fully built:

I've got a game lined up this evening that promises to be pretty brutal - 2250 points and both of us are running pure Daemonkin. The list I'm using took out two Knights at the weekend, so I'm fairly confident.

Just found this thread, so much cool stuff in it.  I got back into 40k after a 20ish year hiatus last Christmas and started with a khornate CSM force before KDK came out.  Below is an album of my army progress for 2015.

I started writing some fluff for a few of the units in the collection and came up with decent stuff for the jugger lord and the dreadnought.

Chaos Lord - Gresh Calvarium - Original Legion:  Sons of Horus
Through personal martial prowess, Calvarium garnered the attention of Khorne who bestowed his mark and other gifts to him.  As Calvarium waged war under an undivided banner he soon began to draw daemons of Khorne to his particularly bloody style of combat.  Khornate members of the word bearers flocked to his campaigns for a chance to fight along side the daemon tide that acompanied his battles.  Soon enough Gresh Calvarium had pulled together a large enough force to commandeer a rival Lord's battle barge, the Anima Matentis and begin a fresh campaign of slaughter in the name of the blood and brass.

Hellbrute - Janus Kriegar - Original Legion: World Eaters
After his body was crushed in close combat with a loyalist dreadnought, Calvarium saw fit to punish Kriegar's failure by entombing him in the very machine that broke him.  Gresh rode down the venerable machine on his juggernaught and split it open with Goredrinker, spilling the spindly body of the space marine inside to the dirt. In the depths of the Matentis, the machine was repaired and Kriegar stuffed inside where his shame would simmer into hatred and fury.

Venomlust; I love your 'bikes'!! Very characterful with some great posing/kitbashing :cool.:

Many thanks!

Just built the 2nd 10 of my 20-man unit of traitor wolf "berzerkers" for use with the Kharybdis I ordered for the Fist of Khorne formation, so I'll try to get some pics of those up soon too :D.

I want one of those so bad.

I think they are super duper expensive though. I have some money socked away but I think the CDN dollar is so bad and the price was so high to begin with it might be a pipe dream for me.

I've wanted that ever since I got my hands on the Blood Oath Campaign supplement (Paid an arm and a leg for that too).

That Fist of Khorne formation is the one way I can see getting my Zerkers in the recipe.

So me and some guys from my group have started picking up a Zone Mortalis board, and it got me thinking: could the Brazen Onslaught make for a cool ZM attacking force that is also half decent? Theres a lot less Strength 8 stuff running around that can just instakill the Juggers for starters.

I might try borrowing some models to make it work, once we get enough sections to play 1000 points. 500 is not enough.

Dragonlover

Haven't had time to do any painting, but recently I've built another 10 of my traitor wolf berzerkers to fill out the 20-man unit required for the Fist of Khorne formation.

A little taste of things to come...

Very nice combination of bits. Where is the icon from?

As a side question does anyone know if the fantasy Khorne stuff has good axe bits for daemonic 40k weapons?

The icon looks to be from the Skullreapers, which has a few nicely daemonic axes. The Blood Warriors have a couple bits that might be suitable, too. Neither the Bloodreavers nor the Skullcrushers have any particularly daemonic looking axes, but you might be able to find something adequate in the range of heroes that might work.

Yep, exactly. Check my earlier pics to see the Skullreapers axes used as axes of Khorne on my biker champs.

Don't know if this has been linked before but a guy on warmer (edit: Warseer, damned autocorrect) is talking about a new AoS book which has some detail on the Hosts of Khorne to add to the three we already know

1- Anger Incandescent

2- Seething Fury

3- Wrath of Khorne

4- Apoplectic Ire

5- Infernal Outrage

6- Insensate Rage

7- Executionner of Khorne

8- Unfettered Fury
