[Constantly Updating]

This will be a Gallery containing all my attempts at the Horus Heresy Character Series, Forge World Kits & Black Library Literature, as each release brings us more astounding characters new units and vehicles and furthering the series, I'll be putting my mark on the series by purchasing, building, painting and finally putting them in a display cabinet in my office.

There will be no variation on colour schemes, no conversions and no back stories when it comes to the character series.

This will be a Log with links on the names to the finished post of the models and products. And will be an in depth look and review of each model as they arrive and I unpack the beautiful resin within.

I Hope this allows people to see the detail, the individual components and allows me to improve upon my skills and give me more creative boundaries to Excel within.

Very cool project! I'm actually really glad that you aren't doing conversions or alternate paint schemes. This way I can see another take on the "historical" theme which always gives me tons of motivation and inspiration.

I'm looking forward to seeing your progress!

@ ThatOneMarshal-

The order is firstly the Big H himself Horus as he deserves the justice of being first amongst many, I've just ordered Khârn the Bloody and after those two it will go to a vote which character will be next. (Sidenote; Samus will be my purchase in august on my trip to the UK)

@ BCK-

The review for horus will be early next week so don't stress as long as the banter is kept under wraps it won't get to page 2 or 3 (in saying that guys I want to keep some form of control here so try keep on topic in regards to the thread)

@ Millicant-

I'm trying to set myself guidelines and rules to stick to as I have a tendency to lose focus and motivation, so this is just another project I'll be working on over the course of my hobby life.

So everyone hold on and I'll have the first post ready for next week, it will be Horus and his review with everything I can possibly cover followed by the WIP posts of bringing this bad boy to life

@ BCK-

The review for horus will be early next week so don't stress as long as the banter is kept under wraps it won't get to page 2 or 3 (in saying that guys I want to keep some form of control here so try keep on topic in regards to the thread)

I don't really see the need to start a new thread until you already have something to show for your work. It gets out of hand a lot more in the WIP section, and I don't want to see that here.

Thanks guys, I was recently talking to a bloke from my LGWS and he suggested I review the FW kits and all my limited edition gear aswell so people can see an in depth view of every part of the hobby from novels through to armour marks and battle boards.

So I'll have the first review ready over the weekend and start the official review of the Land Raider Achillies Alpha followed by Horus and I'll use the limited edition items to fill in the hobby hiatus times.

Should be a fun thing to give to the community

Land Raider Achillies Alpha

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Images/Product/AlternativeFW/xlarge/lrachillesa7.jpg

So here's the first write up from ..::Kurama Reviews the Horus Heresy Series and Products::..,
now id like to introduce the beast of a tank that is the Land Raider Achillies Alpha.

Now I've got to admit the model was perfectly cast with little flash and only one noticeable mould line located under the base of the heavy quad mortar (I think that's the weapon).

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150511_093734_zpscn7parho.jpg

so as you can see its all sent in a nice jumbo size bag which my cat has decided is great to charge onto and slide around the house like a maniac on.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150511_093822_zpso7nyw08c.jpg

now components wise forge world like to give you half a raider from the plastic GW sprue, now we've all seen this and know that its almost impossible to have casting issues so lets skip along to the next part. (All the resin goodness that so much of us addicts out there are willing to give our firstborn sons and kidneys for.)

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150511_093947_zpsrljra8k3.jpg

Once again I can find no fault from a quick view of the parts no obvious warping and/or issues currently, but as we all know with Forge world once I start the assembly I may be screaming and on the verge of ripping my hair out.

so now I thought id look at the important individual components that make this model much more unique than its 40k counterpart.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150511_094002_zpslqzyeren.jpg

the bloody frag mortar cannon whatever its called, a beautiful hunk of resin and the only piece that had mould lines (admittedly under the barrel which once assembled no one would see) so easily rectified I just grabbed the exacto blade and scraped it off.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150511_094015_zps0yklaq50.jpg

now to the volkite death ray sci fi sponsons, these are beautiful there's just no denying when forge world came up with this concept they were inspired by the divine, now the details are exquisite and I can not at all deny the effort forge world put into designing these, personally I will not be equipping these when I build this kit but I do plan on in the future getting another 2 kits and giving one the volkite sponsons.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150511_094027_zpsxzkbgaoi.jpg

The multi melta the standard equipment of the achillies and the reason this bad boy can be a beast, ill be ensuring that I get up close and personal with these and leave at least 2 smouldering wrecks a game. now I'm relieved that these were designed alongside the heresy melta and multi melta kits, I'm not a fan of 40k meltas by comparison after all I don't like chunky lego blocks, I like to see the components that actually help cause the air to super heat and blast the ceramite into a hole of molten slag.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150511_094037_zps1ypo5xmv.jpg

the canopy of the land raider once again its a great cast no issues other than the aquilla.... why must every tank have a bloody aquilla id much rather a pre heresy era or whatnot from the great crusade then that god damn bloody eagle.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150511_094047_zps1ugcnpkj.jpg

so now I'm onto the non existent ramp extra armour plating, now its a nice heavy bit of resin but other then adding to the aesthetic doesn't really give much to say about it sadly.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150511_094100_zpsgp3odwtw.jpg

now we have the MKIIB armour plating and the achillies front plate, once again a great aesthetic and honestly makes more sense to me to have angled armoured sections for your troops to disembark from creating surfaces for solid rounds to ricochet from protecting your troops (much smarter than a pivoting weapon that could fry your boys upon disembarking). now the front plates with the grooved panels I'm still trying to figure out the actual practicality of them and there function but I'm at a loss in all honesty.

so in conclusion great kit cant wait to build and paint it but ill be holding off on this kit for a little bit. so next up will be Horus the Warmaster.

Nice Write up!

As I look to this Volikite Version, all I can feel is Envy since I had bought a 40k Achilles before I had gotten in 30k. Boy am I regretting that now.

...Oh well, just means I'll have to buy another one! MAYBE ILL GET 2 MORE AND FIELD A SQUADRON >:-D

Couple of notes:

The grooved front panels. Mine had the Gates on the Bottom 2 Prongs rather than the large, flat top potion. Makes it so that some of the cleaning is ever so slightly visible on mine since I couldnt really hide it.

Second, when Slapping on the Top panel of the whole land raider, mine, for whatever reason, refused to sit flush and the back part of the track guard of this piece would not settle properly so be wary of that when it comes to assembly since it might be a potential problem.

thanks slips will keep that in mind when assembling, I will post a second review of it once its built just to show stage by stage the assembly process.

Compared to a Spartan? It'll be cakewalk. Still, It'll be interesting to read about your findings!

Allrighty lets get started on my Second Review, Introducing the big Cheese Himself; Horus The Warmaster.
Now this bloke is pretty much the reason I was drawn to the hobby in the first place. When I was at the tender age of 11 I had a fateful day where my uncle who was 14 at the time had to spend the school holidays with me, now I honestly couldn't stand him and we never got along but one evening he was in my room reading a magazine, this magazine happened to be a white dwarf. I was curious as to why he was being anti social and in all honesty I wanted to beat him in a game of backyard cricket. ( we used to enjoy playing at night with floodlights in the back yard pretending we were at the MCG) now I nagged him to come out and he told me to pretty much go censored.gif myself. now long story short my mum said to be nice to him so I tried to take an interest in his magazine. this had in it the first bit of fluff I would ever read about the Horus heresy and how one mans Ego destroyed humanity almost overnight. now I was enthralled as I've always had a love for humanity being a dying species but hate the whole pretext that we would be undone by another race, this would be the first time I had seen mankind be its undoing. so skip forward now 7 years id just met my fiancé and moved to Adelaide, SA.

Trying to find a new hobby and get out of my impetuous youth I decided to go to my local GW and get into the hobby. I spent $600 Aus and $60 of this was on the first three Horus heresy books as I couldn't believe that after all these years of being a closet hobbyist that I missed out on these books. so reading these I became addicted and my partner had to accept that I cared for the Horus heresy more than anything in my life up to this point. Now like most of us we never thought the primarchs or the heresy would be touched and luckily for us the best sculptors in the world were given the task of bringing our imagination to life.

so let me introduce: Horus

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135046_zpspn2mecet.jpg

So psyched to open this bad boy up.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135122_zpsu9zctsc1.jpg

now I was quite surprised at the size of the box it arrived in but that was because I forgot how big the components for this model were.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135152_zpsdxjatgeq.jpg

so as you can see the components were safely packed away into two separate cases one even containing foam for the delicate talon of Horus.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135317_zpskisaykut.jpg

so I removed all the components out and other than some flashing nothing was miscast from a quick glance.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135334_zpsug7losjm.jpg

with a quick dry fit I could not believe the quality of the decorative base, now I'm going to need a good marbling tutorial for this eagle head as its just so highly detailed and almost the most beautiful piece of scenery GW/FW have ever produced.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135346_zpsfxuitqxy.jpg

now having a closer look at the head of the eagle you can see Simon Egan truly put his time love and effort into every detail of this model.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135358_zps4j28xevm.jpg

Here we have the steps which in themselves are a modellers dream, I'm sort of hung up on a contrast colour to have for them against the marble eagle. I'm sort of thinking sandstone, thoughts?

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135415_zpsgckhc6lg.jpg

And god damn is that body detailed, now I knew from BCK that the body was highly detailed but I just cant believe the amount of detail and ornamentation that's gone into this model. just wow!

edit: just noticed that the right hand knee pad is damaged, have contacted forge world about a replacement. God I hate waiting

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135432_zpsmtahbgca.jpg

Now the cape is not my favourite cast, as you can see the Left hand side of the cape has some minor issues, now I'm not sure if it was supposed to be cast like that but I feel I may need some liquid Greenstuff to smooth it out.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135450_zpsj9n4271x.jpg

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135455_zpsdxmv7lt2.jpg

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135500_zpsxwmrn0p5.jpg

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135508_zps70f7j0zb.jpg

Now my favourite piece of warhammer history has to be the talon of Horus, as you can see I got pics from all angles and there is some minor flash to clean up but nothing to difficult to correct. this truly is an amazing sculpt and cast. Just wish I had a abaddon so I could do a size comparison.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135520_zpsxivxhpfx.jpg

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135528_zps6gjlgm0w.jpg

Now World Breaker..... holy cow batman is it flash city. obviously nothing bad to correct but god damn forge world I wish you could remove the flash especially when were dropping big bucks on primarchs, that is my only criticism though. Another beautiful piece of Weaponry which conveys the brutal strength wielded by Horus.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_135544_zpscmxwqgzx.jpg

and finally the Head of the Emperors favoured son, I love that it looks similar to Lorgar but has a more beefy appearance, this makes me want Lorgar's model now and to show the difference in size demeanour and the counterpoints that they reflect to the traitors cause.

So luckily enough ill be building and painting the big boss for ETLso ill have a post build review soon.

Next up will be my review on Tallaran: Executioner and Tallaran: Iron Clad.

Thanks guys, the torso will definitely be a good piece for my bitz box may even make a piece of terrain from it, I've been busy updating the first post.

Trying to gather all the products into the list which is a long arduous process, will add knights, admech, solar Auxillia and other pieces as the week progresses. The next update should be Monday so hopefully this thread is helpful.

Now a question how can I make the reviews more enjoyable thorough etc. For Everyone?

Is the current format okay or are there any changes you'd like after all this is for the community aswell as myself.

The current format seems fine to me.

Thanks buddy, im currently expanding and going to place the next order soon.

Just so much to cover and trying to make the first post organized and ensure its easy to navigate through the eventual clutter.

Just want the new Horus torso to get here so I can get him primed and started

Tallarn- Executioner

http://www.games-workshop.com/resources/catalog/product/600x620/60040181125_TallarnExecutioner01.jpg

So here we have the first of the book reviews, now I'm not one for spoiling the story line so this will be a brief overview of the book itself and if I feel like there's anything notable of mentioning I surely will mention away. So to begin with ill start with my favourite book of the series.

Tallarn Executioner, now this is the start of the biggest mechanized warzone in the history of the imperium (even up to 40k) so in saying that were talking in 10,000 yeas we have not had a single engagement that comes close to this...... now I will let that sink in (because were talking millions of armoured columns wrecking each other left right and centre). So first off who are the main :cusss in this story well its non other than everyone's favourite iron giants that sport chevrons like Kim Kardashian sports tight fitting, arse grabbing garments. but before I expand I just want to go into the opening of this story, now first we are introduced to a world that is presented with a verdant world of culture and beauty (what tallarn isn't a wasteland?) and we are introduced to a fairly well off father Akil Sulan (one of the main characters in the beginning) that happens to be wondering home when surprise surprise sirens start blaring as an invasion force enters the system bearing down on the planet. Now in this opening scene we see that this poor bloke manages to make it to a shelter as virus bombs turn the planet into a toxic hellhole and in the process loses everything that he held dear from his daughters business and love. Now this guy seems fairly legit and you cant help but feel his loss in your stomach.

But now this gets proper grim dark, like holy crap everything is destroyed and there's no one to help and how the hell are these people going to survive? but wait there's one minor hope the Journian 701st. Now these poor bastards were actually forgotten about, a whole armoured imperial army regiment and more just stationed in transit waiting for details on there next deployment. Unfortunately they aren't exactly well supplied or kitted out for an actual fight, now after months of surviving in a fall out shelter they decide to go on out and see what the hell is going on up topside, so sealing up as best they can they head topside.

Now unfortunately our beloved 4th legion are already present surface side and if they aren't annihilating the Journian 701st the toxic atmosphere and failing equipment do it for them.
now I don't want to get much further into the details of this story but if you haven't read this I recommend this be the next book you purchase in whatever format you can. its one of the best reads of the heresy next to betrayer and fulgrim (in my opinion). John French really captured this scene and expands t to incorporate fluff back from Rogue trader to adding his own twists, plots and holy zombie ghost jesus moments.

Now onto the book itself;

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150522_093606_zps0jgcgiit.jpg

so here we have this bad boy, now unfortunately my cat decided that whilst I read this he must attack the book mark with utmost gusto, which has left it in tatters.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.30.30_zpsed0hxmp4.jpg

so we slip off the dust cover to see a beautiful hardback with the engineering diagrams on what appear to be a leman russ battle tank. (nice touch editing team)

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.30.08_zpswvdxlxh8.jpg

lucky me having a copy (#1390/3078) and what was the first picture of the Solar Auxillia Logo

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.29.55_zpskfdqtvil.jpg

The Dramatis Personae, as you can see this story focuses less on marines and more on the footsloggers that cleaned up after them and conquered the universe in their shadow.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.29.26_zpsedqnr5td.jpg

now my favourite part of these books is the quotes now bare with me hear my favourite quote from this book is; 'War is the death of rationality. Only in retrospect do events seem driven by choice and judgement. those who fight rarely know why they fight, and those that command them rarely see clearly enough to make any true choices beside saying "we fight because this is where we are"'

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.29.12_zpsne2vj8gd.jpg

now unfortunately doing this one handed doesn't help but here we have the internal content featuring the layout of the journian 701st.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.28.51_zpsw4szwwzx.jpg

the timeline of the war on tallarn

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.28.38_zpsxuxswnrg.jpg

and some data of the vanquisher 'silence'

so all in all I love this book there's not much more to say on that matter but its one of the few releases that actually starts to delve into other aspects of the heresy, there need to be more stories like this without moustache twirling or super weapons or anything of that nature, the book appeals based on the merit of the willingness for humanity to survive not only in this universe but day to day and unless your a half baked moron this will appeal to that on some level.

next up for review is Tallarn Ironclad.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/3dmQe8U92D5YO8uxfu_YWflr5Cb6vkCrwaEfSV7JEwxiTlinnmt1Qhi73v5uNkA02giG-36ylUSdmtGiWINfxDJ0qN4Ngsua1hMCz0s5ra14uLqyGxAHRIKEUjE_zps7efxogtk.jpeg

Tallarn- Ironclad

http://www.blacklibrary.com/Images/BL/blog/2015/feb/10/Tallarn-Ironclad-Dustjacket.jpg

So the much anticipated (at least on my behalf) sequel to tallran executioner, now I know there was a lot of criticism out there when everyone found out the book was bound like a slanesshii tablet, but people this book is much worth a read and I say this as we have everything going on here from data assassins to Alpha legion shenanigans through to Iron warrior contemptors waging war (hell look at the cover). now this book is a throwback to a long time ago when some legions were dedicated to specific chaos gods (night lords in with khorne iron warriors with slannesh). now before you hate on it for the sake of hating which lately we have grown accustomed to with each release lets remember its only the start of this particular engagement and campaign. so give it a chance don't hate it.

Now I wont go into detail with this one as each person should read it and gage it with their own inner critic.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150522_093306_zpspwoeozue.jpg

see this is a hefty tome considering its a Novella

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.31.05_zpscm5wnpqg.jpg

a beautifully embossed hardback with beautiful detailing

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.31.21_zpsd1a461cb.jpg

#996/3000 (oh yeah first 1000)

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.31.41_zpshcihx1iy.jpg

The Dramatis Personae as you can see were focussing more on the legionaries in this book compared to the previous one being from the perspective of their human counterparts.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.32.25_zpsrtntefez.jpg

now I cant honestly choose which little piece of fluff I love more in this book.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.32.13_zpsqkzh20bd.jpg

now we get to the special content, this is a nice little monologue.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.31.59_zpsx9xh08xc.jpg

some planetary information as we've seen in the forge world books.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-22%2011.30.46_zpswi4hlhj1.jpg

a nice pic on pre tallarn uniform sadly no robes and turbans just bulky hazmat suits.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150522_093502_zpsheht4kco.jpg

now the centre does unfold to give us a full cover shot.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150522_093536_zpsladanrbv.jpg

and this acknowledgement I felt actually was really nice and its good to let us know just how much effort the team at forge world Games workshop and black library go to in order to bring us stories like this.

so quick summary and as mentioned above give this one a chance boys and girls, I think you will enjoy this even just for the parts with the Vanus (SP) assassin which makes digital warfare look fun.
Next up I think will be Betrayer or Khârn from the character series, enjoy!

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/3dmQe8U92D5YO8uxfu_YWflr5Cb6vkCrwaEfSV7JEwxiTlinnmt1Qhi73v5uNkA02giG-36ylUSdmtGiWINfxDJ0qN4Ngsua1hMCz0s5ra14uLqyGxAHRIKEUjE_zps7efxogtk.jpeg

Land Raider Achillies Alpha

Build

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/f1flDl9fLQfNUgxwxSS3o81iunAr_oyL7yYMukmAXY22nNaIKVuUUptV5nHck9MpFyOY8f4Y_UzmGPUpym29w1RF54USIqB_Y-YvkJ0ay8v6l-O7CTC7E233fDR_zpsj8tjmhod.jpeg

so finally I got the time to start dry fitting and assembling this bad boy, now the kit itself is fine but I did encounter some issues when assembling this bad boy.
But we will get to that in a minute all in all I'm happy with this kit and cant wait to have it painted up in USMC tank Crew.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.21.09_zpsywgriwhm.jpg
http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.21.25_zpsifmw1yfk.jpg

so to begin I decided to try build this in sub assemblies, now I decided to start with the sponson armour as its one of the main features to this build, now the resin joints to fit nicely but may need a bit of gap filling on the top hatch. (note don't glue the sponson turrets I spent a good 10 minutes explaining to the misses that they were supposed to move)

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.21.40_zpsg17x6q6c.jpg

next up on the sub assembly list is the engine and exhaust pipes, pretty simple just fit and glue.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.22.05_zps441zdagd.jpg

now next up is the front plate for the sponsons which I nearly missed, now no matter how I tried to fit them there was going to be a gap so watch out for this, I'm not happy with how it fits into place so now I have to get out the liquid GS to try remedy this.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.22.21_zpszujmq1ar.jpg

next up is the hull build, now please be careful I glued the top of the assembly before realising that you need to slide the top of the land raiders armour into the back of this piece and wont be able to assemble this properly without breaking the piece off (which may cause damage to the resin)

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.22.36_zpsu289ojoa.jpg

now I trialled a dummy test fit with the almighty quad cannon of death

so now comes the fun bit of assembling the individual track pieces, which in all honesty is the easiest part to do (insert A into B )cool.png

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2015.40.54_zpsxdjpm20v.jpg
http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2015.40.39_zpsz8zyb29h.jpg

now like your normal land raider build we just put the floor in the engine/motor piece and line up the rear engine exhaust mounts.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.22.57_zps7otssf2d.jpg
http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.23.11_zps2ruihiip.jpg

now before you glue the second side into place put the reinforced armour into the front, and unlike myself place the turret mount otherwise you will have a :cussload of a headache trying to get it to fit.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.23.26_zpss3cqquxe.jpg

so now as you can probably see it lines up fine, but I must insist that breaking the quad cannon roof is not fun but needs to be put on last

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.24.03_zpsdkum9ljn.jpg

because then we have this ( a nice big freaking Gap)

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.24.43_zpsftzx5xpn.jpg

so now we just dummy fit the multi melta and cannon into place and add the final details like a twin link bolter, the hatch maybe even a crewman.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.25.03_zpsttnddxmn.jpg

finally we start gap filling, now this bad boy will get primed and ready for vow II of my ETL endeavour.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-24%2017.25.19_zpswhlljdu7.jpg

next time you see this will be the finished piece.

next up Betrayer by Aaron Dembski-Bowden.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/3dmQe8U92D5YO8uxfu_YWflr5Cb6vkCrwaEfSV7JEwxiTlinnmt1Qhi73v5uNkA02giG-36ylUSdmtGiWINfxDJ0qN4Ngsua1hMCz0s5ra14uLqyGxAHRIKEUjE_zps7efxogtk.jpeg

Betrayer

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/1bbK6Wt8_Lyx8R6zIU9oD6szPkqEMvhMQlNqeRZM3fW7_0rZHrYoVRmxpw_jNPuX2oRdgmTpXs4OKuEb1Wc1Fa8SF4otiP7Bcfna-0d63yMBrANc-jgOQ2S7UOF_zpsrxudfqc8.jpeg

So first review of the main series, now a quick run down of events. This is based after the audio drama butchers nails and allows us to have a deeper insight into the XIIth legion and the XVIIth legion respectively, this story is basically the tipping point for the World eaters and brings them to the point of no return finally giving themselves to khorne. now this novel is almost a duel bromance between Argel Tal & Khârn showing that even a blood crazed psychopath like the bloodied still has emotional ties to humanity, this also applies to argel tal and shows him wishing there was another way to save humanity and that he hates the path they are on but accepts his place on it. we also have Lorgar primarch of the Xviith on a mission to save his broken brother angron, this coalesces into a crazy plan (the ruinstorm) which pretty much is meant to save Angron from death at the hands of the butchers nails.

now this book has everything from beautiful moments of primarchs bench pressing warhounds to point blank plasma blasters to the face, some of the most memorable moments of this book pretty much sum up everything that is amazing about this series, from Khârn going bezerk and argel tal trying to keep up and protect him, to Roboute guilliman duking it out with both his traitor brother primarchs, the red tide assaulting a shield wall of ultramarines, the revival of the blessed lady and the demise of the last angel.

this book has everything and keeps you wanting more, Aaron Dembski Bowden has truly captured the essence of the traitor legions and brings forth concepts that non of us prior to this release would have considered.

now all in all a great read but the final scene between Khârn and Erebus is the most climatic and brutal take on the pits we have to date.

so if you haven't read this stop what your doing and go bloody read it right now, get out your credit card and order this bad boy or rob someone that has it.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-25%2011.10.31_zpspf1kcgsx.jpg

Beautiful cover great art work and a beautiful depiction of lorgar and Angron

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/20150522_112552_zpsfd9df7n4.jpg

I recommend you get it I don't know how many times I have to say it just no excuses go get it.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-25%2011.10.48_zpsy555obyh.jpg
http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-25%2011.11.05_zpsanwmiyfi.jpg

One of the biggest cast lists but surprisingly works, theres no attention detracted from any of the characters and is more than just bolter porn, this was the last book I had to get upon release.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-25%2011.11.23_zpsn8rmzr4a.jpg

for those of you that have joined the gods of the arena thread In the Chaos forum will recognise this from the opening post, a true recollection from the captain of the VIIIth assault company summarising the position of the XIIth legion.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-25%2011.11.39_zpshy0bqgz0.jpg

The first artwork we had of Khârn which translated well into the FW model.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-25%2011.11.54_zpsha5c6bvy.jpg

One of the best moments of the book was the world eaters charging the ultramarine shield wall as the Legio Audax Hunted around them.

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-05-25%2011.12.14_zps1gtcey2b.jpg

Angron on Nucrecia seeing the bones of his fallen Comrades which pushes him to ascension.

So all in all great book we get more of an insight into the Warhounds pre Angron and even see how the hated Librarius of the XIIth legion worked, sadly anyone that knows the history of the WE will know what awaits the librarius. Now this book was an emotional journey of love compassion and hatred, to see how loss can affect the strongest of us and the lengths we go to protect those closest to us wether they be Deceased saints to rage filled axe swinging super humans to  a broken shell of a brother.
