Hi Atia

Are there any colour pictures of Ultramarines terminators in Tempest? Or unit markings etc

I've a squad here waiting to be primed...

those Imperial Army rumours.

mmmm, yes.

I do believe my Death Korps are sufficiently fed up with 40k to represent their ancestors - heck, might even give me an excuse to get more of their glorious models.

I've also got a very longtime Guard player in my group who's more or less foresworn Guard at present after the last dissapointing book and the general power creep in 40k, he'll probably be pleased to hear they might get a new lease on life. He was considering selling them last week (about 11,000 points) to do some 30k/expand his Chaos, and this might give him pause.

Two Legions known for clockwork tactics and being highly modular and planning strategies down to the smallest detail. Nah, isn't a chance in the universe they might have similarities. msn-wink.gif

Haha, I'm just saying that I wish the Emperor's Children had the Ultramarine's special rules instead of their own.

I might just have to paint up some XIII Legion allies for my Emperor's Children...

I'm interested in Ultras fluff on recruitment, many the 500 worlds. I was looking in Betrayal and it says the XIIth legion have recruitment rights over some worlds in the Ultrama system, so does that mean the 500 worlds is just a potion of world in that system, or do they have to share some of the worlds with other Legions?

It's a very flexible list from first read through. I'd say it's going to do a lot more to get people into 30k gaming than the Solar Auxillia did

Ultramarines fluff is bang on everything you'd expect plus some of the shadier side is hinted at that never sees the light of day in the OTT Mary Sue that is 40k UMs like the Ultramar secret police and the organisation of Ultramar as a military dictatorship not the whole glorious republic some have portrayed it as. The whole piece on the Invictarii, Evocatii and Legatii that run Ultramar parallel to the Legion Hierarchy was excellent and just shows how much work is put into these books. Slightly disappointed that Gage or Lamiad didn't have rules but there's still another book for that. And the Broken Legion list is something I'm very excited about, given how they plan to use if for Blackshields as well

How much Sons of Horus green is no where near the right shade of green.

Wha.. what?

Sorry being cynical.

I think the issue is more that what you typed didn't make sense :P

I was suggesting the new paint Sons of Horus green may turn out to be the wrong shade of green for the Sons of Horus. But I was being cynical. I'm sure if will be the perfect shade.

Any mention of Magniat, a world of Ultramar?

Don't recall reading it, there's quite a lot of worlds named though so it's possible I missed it

Fair enough. How about prior cognomen, other nicknames, for the Ultramarines?

I'll post here since there's a lot of people PM me for this stuff

The breachers everyone thinks they're getting aren't breachers they're Invictarii, basically the 30k version of Honour Guard which can be HQ or elite choices. Stats are command squad type with a bonus to leadership for units within 12"

The assault squad is pretty cool, basically a combo of Blood Angels and Deathwing in that they re-roll the scatter for DS and on DS get to fire their pistols twice

The Terminators are interesting. Combi bolters can be swapped for Combi-meltas or, get this, Reapers. Or Cyclones. For the whole squad. And the more models in the squad the better benefits they get. 2+ - Night Vision, 5+ Tank Hunters and 8+ cover saves are at -1. And they're at BS5. These guys are an excellent HS choice

War Born. I like the sound of that name.

Anything more about the pre-guilliman legion? Heraldry, color schemes, mustering grounds on Terra, different tactics than once they met with their primarch?

There's quite a bit covered for them, it's just far too much to type out. There's also a great explanation about Gulliman's best talent and taken in the context with the other Primarch's it's fairly easy to see why so many of them didn't get along with him

Are the Proto-Vanguard Elite or Fast Attack?

I'm thinking Ultras for allies, so I'm curious as to how much of their cool stuff I could fit into one allied detachment.

Also, Imperial Army, I desire all the information.

All of it.

Wish I had the book. I'm curious how they describe the sibling rivalry.
