The red book already has an option for vol... choom! but it isn't twin-link, might be why it sounded familiar, though it seems this new update replaces that entry =P

Very nice choooom on it but I do hope they will give a option for mortis pattern double chooooom!

I think it's because we saw it in a bulletin a while ago so I had it in my head it was already released.

For a moment you got my hopes up there Kriegriss and Atia but I suppose it is but a normal contemptor for now.

Wish it was Mortis though... the wonder of chooooom should not be limited to ground targets!

I think you might mean 'Deredeo' rather than 'Mortis', brother. ;)

Drop the cost of the dread 10 points and give him a twin linked Demi-culverin (the leman Russ one) and we've got a deal

Yeah, slung from both arms like the Tau broadsides... that would be a mighty sight to behold !!!

How does this fare vs a heavy las/beamer base?

Still practising with it. Each costs five energy to deploy so I start with four Glaives and have one one and one two as back up. This leaves me enough energy for a Dominate or a Haywire or two (I start with 62 energy). Each Glaives takes an hour to replace and they drive into lascannon range :/

Needs more practise to wield.

So I's been thinking in me brain, me has, and wot's popped into it but a Volkite rapier battery idea!!!

Think about the WHFB dwarf artillery guns, except, three volkite calivers mounted on a rapier platform

So I says to meself, good job Depthcharge's brain.

After making the jump into 30k and the decision to go with the Solar Auxilia, I had but one choice to make.  How was I going to build the army up within a specific theme to give it some character on the table...then I saw the Leman Russ Incinerator and the Veletaris Storm Section.  The gun design had me at hello but once I found out the damn things functioned like a Martian Death Ray...well I think we all know I was on a runaway CHOOM! train.

My only question is where are the Malcador Volkite Variants?!

Anyways, I really don't think I stood a chance given the options...Lasrifle or Volkite?  Really?  You're asking me if I want to decide between a flashlight that can be upgraded but might freeze up on the battlefield or...tanks and elite soldiers equipped with MARTIAN FREAKING DEATH RAYS OF DOOM?!  Such questions should not only be avoided but instead be outright heresy to even ponder.  This very morning after a week or so of staring at my HH4: Conquest book, I received my first installment of Volkites and felt that this would be the place to share such a glorious moment.

Their resin bases have not arrived yet but I don't think that's going to keep me from painting them in the meantime.

My First CHOOM!

I had two ideas recently, inspired by all the choomy goodness shared on this most excellent thread;

A Vindicator Rapier Laser Destroyer - with a Solar Auxilia Leman Russ Incinerator Demi-Culverin in place of the laser array. The 'Choomicator.'

A Sicaran Venator - With the above Demi-Culverin in place of the main weapon. Also Culverin sponsons and the cherry on top - a pintle mounted Culverin for the tanks commander. The 'Sicaran Choominator.'

Choom on gentlemen... Choom on.
