The chainaxes arrived today! So here's a test of the chainaxe. Still need to straighten it a bit, carve some of the hand away, but this combination of kits is so badass. The only problem is how static the legs are. If FW would have just sculpted some legs to go with the kit, it would be absolutely out of this world and we wouldn't need a new plastic kit. But alas...

I'm chopping the CSM/Berzerker legs up and doing my best to make their poses look "realistic"  as if charging or swinging, maybe bellowing a challenge here and there and stereotypically screaming something about taking skulls. In the interest of time I'm not trying to cut the legs in 5 places to make it happen, if that makes sense. Anyhow, here he is:

Loving the reposing you are doing her Venom, much more dynamic :tu: (the FWBerzerker kit is on of my faves)

Have you pinned the chainaxes? I find it's a prerequisite as the snap off otherwise.

Also, great trim on the last guy and I like the extra thigh armour on the one before too B)

Thanks man, and no I haven't pinned the axes yet, but I shall. Lots of work ahead of me!

More berzerkers in progress:

(Gotta straighten out the axe haft, very frustratingly won't stay straight even after hot water):

Berzerkers or worldeaters? bha don't matter i like them, well i have to as I have used the same kit combos myself.

The axe shaft tends to be frustrating, when you have heated them and straightened them, did you try cold water while keeping them straight?

Thank you, and yes. For the axe head itself I actually clipped and reglued it so the angle didn't look weird. I have some various thickness plastic rods, maybe one is the same diameter as the haft and I can use that.

*edit*

They are berzerkers who are World Eaters. I want Angron's sons to be ready for his return.

Berserkers are looking great, where did the two handed axe come from?

Thanks mang. The big mama is from the FW WE Rampagers kit. Comes with 2 of them, along with the other Caedere weapons (meteor hammer, barbed-hook-on-a-chain thing, and twin falax (?) blades.

Wow.  I love this thread!  I made some Jugger riders a while back, but just used the fantasy legs they came with, and yes, I was disappointed. I may have to re-do them now.  I am very much looking forward to seeing the dragon rider lord again!

I worked on a bunch of berzerkers today. They're still heavily WIP, but I've been adding damage to them (ripped up plates here and there, chinks on some pieces, etc.), as well as grenades and reposes. The poses aren't all A+ material, but compared to the squatty smurf default I'm happy with all of them. You'll notice a bunch of power fists; I plan to diversify the rest of the skull champions with axes. You've seen some of these before, so I hope you don't mind seeing a few again.

CHAINAXES! VRRRRRRRR-RRRRRR-RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Am I done? The shadow cast by the camera's flash in the first picture makes his waist look much thinner than it actually is. He's chunky.

The only thing left is to either attach the chain cloak on his back or leave it exposed. I also have a flat icon of Khorne that basically fits perfecfly in that space. I may want to attach a few more skulls, while I'm at it. :biggrin.: Pretty happy with how this thing turned out.

-- Champion of many Khornate battle tournaments in the millennia following the heresy, he's been unleashed thanks to the Cicatrix Maledictum. Adorned with the skulls of his greatest challengers, he incorporates both the potent technology present in a leviathan and daemonic blessings. --

Still figuring out his paint scheme.

I plan to put a slain Custodian under his foot.

I really like your zerkers man. Cool poses! And very nice job in sculpting that trim, any more of that coming up?

And that leviathan(?) is amazing! Holy explicive, it's huge too, the jugger looks tiny! Only thing i'd change is the elbow joint on his left arm, it could do with some bulking up. Maybe tilt the shoulder guard back a bit too?

Thank you kindly.

I sculpt a little trim for the berzerkers (I have 20 partially painted, will update some time soon), but I'm trying to really get my army on the table, and although I love adding details, it can really slow things down.

Yeah, good call on the elbow joint, it is a little flimsy. I'll try to find a round armor plate of sorts to fit in there. The shoulder plate is iffy, because based on the final pose I don't want it to interfere with the insertion into the joint, or make it look like he "couldn't" swing his arm around somewhat freely. You know, gotta make my 10,000+ year old killer robot realistic. :tongue.:

Most impressive. Were the Leviathan's cannons converted from those of 'Warhammer Fantasy Battle'?

Thank you! And yes, from the Skull Cannon kit.
