The last of the HQ's is now built (that's if I don't get a TDA Captain later on)...

Terminator Librarian swapped out with chaos weapons.  He's the blood angels version so a couple of the BA icons are in there but not terribly fussed about that:

thanks for looking :)

I like the axe.  The combi-bolter seems too long to me though.  I'd consider removing the blade.

wasn't sure about combi vs storm bolter... I need to find out which is better in game

Over 12" range, storm bolter. Under 12" range, combi bolter.

Thanks for the input guys,

Over 12" range, storm bolter. Under 12" range, combi bolter.

yeah makes sense.. since he'll team up with shooty terminators i'll stick with the storm bolter

You're right its a bit too large, i'll have a go with a smaller tac marine combat blade attached and see how that looks. The skull trophy is annoying me so will chop that off and add a scope maybe (and drill the barrels!)

had some great progress this weekend.. did a bulk lot of basing on all the marines painted so far... here's the lot of them prior to grassing:

They're all done now, here's some of the tactical marines (pva still a bit wet)......

And the command squad all done, I've got some new chaos sword bits to swap in but that'll happen later...

TDA Librarian all done, put a scope on his stormbolter and replaced it's blade with a smaller marine combat blade...

Good change, it looks less "front-heavy" now.

Apologies for more unpainted grey plastic.....

BUT managed to score a couple of characters to convert, Deathwatch Librarian and Dark Vengeance captain.  Also have a DV librarian on the way and will give him a new sword also..

A Librarian wielding a Bloodletter's Hellblade... The irony of this pleases me greatly, though I'm sure Khorne himself is having an aneurism out of sheer outrage. msn-wink.gif

Haha that's exactly the intention for my Relictor librarian conclave devil.gif

Good stuff as usual. How was the Deathwatch Librarian to convert? Is there a lot of chopping involved or is the sprue quite separate?

Was super easy to convert thumbsup.gif

His head/torso/right legs are in separate pieces and not poseable, but the arms have same joints as standard marines except for a small locating block which can be shaved off easily. The left arm (with DW shoulderpad) is all one piece but the right arm (force sword) comes with the blood raven shoulderpad separate.. Backpack is a loose item also.

Thanks, i do need to stick to the whole 'one thing at a time' thing, so these guys might happen a little later (i just love the building/converting part and cant help myself starting new stuff!!). I started painting the two chaplains so they'll be the next ones to finish..

  • 1 month later...

Life has been way too busy... but I've finally managed to get my TDA Chaplain Painted!!  (will base him this weekend).

Here he is with his custom Combi-Melta and accursed Crozius:

About halfway through painting the power-armoured chaplain,

in the meantime I've fixed up a Battle for Maccragge sergeant I bought a while ago... so no more 'why are you pointing sideways sarge?!' .  Also put new weapons/shoulders on without the moulded tactical symbols.
