Been a quiet couple of weeks here, busy with work and such. Finally getting back to some hobby, and phase 6 of my mate's escalation campaign.

Next up, I'm adding a command squad and a new Praetor/Librarian for my Thousand Sons. My TS Mortis-Contemptor is getting a twin brother with TLLC (I was gonna get the Deredo, but I love the look of the TS Contemptor so much I just had to get a second suitably armed). The command squad will also be getting a Deimos Rhino and an apothecary. I've left the shoulder pads off the Command Squad, they'll be getting some fancy white Achean pads with teal Scarabs. I'm just hoping it won't take FW too long to release those TS transfers else my banner is going to look a little bare for a while...

Apologist, the bare head that comes with the dark furries has the rebreather, it's he Mor Deythan that comes with the head with some rather nice facial hear.

@Jud Cottrell - thanks very much, chap. That's incredibly kind of you to say so.

 

Here's my Thousand Sons Librarian/Praetor and Command Squad I've been working in for a friends escalation campaign. Pleased with them, though wish FW would release the transfer sheet for them so I can finish my Standard Bearer.

 

Not the best choice but fancied painting some more infantry. Basing these chaps around the Athanaean Cult, so lots of Telepaths etc.

 

Next up, I'm doing a second Mortis-Contemptor. The Deredo is a better AA choice, I just love the TS Contemptor.

@Luna707 - yeah that didn't go so well lol. I tend to work better flying solo than as a team-up and my dice were extraordinarily bad. Still clinging to the top of my Escalation League for the mo.

 

I'll be pushing the majority out to being just a Thousand Sons Legion as I carry on, with the various other Legiona I've worked on being upgraded to Allies status

Only a quick update today. I've finished a second squad of Veterans for my Thousand Sons, plus a Rhino for them. The force is finally taking shape to the point I'll be able to have a good 2000pts of them, which was my plan. Those legions I've done as Shattered, I'll use still as such but also upgrade their numbers so they can be used as an ally.

 

So far, my force consists of:

 

Praetor (doubles up as a Librarian) and Command Squad

Consul-Delegatus

Consul-Siege Breaker in Cataphractii Armour (again, doubling up as a Librarian)

Mortis-Contemptor Dreadnought

2x Quad Mortar Rapiers

2x 10-manVeteran Tactical Squads

2x Rhinos

6-man Sky Hunter Jetbikes Squad

Sicaran Venator

 

Not sure what to add next. I'll need a third Rhino at some point, and I've got an Apothecary and a second Mortis-Contemptor to paint. I was eyeing up a Deredo or Xiphon for the next (and last) stage of my escalation campaign, though I'm open to suggestions. Currently at the top of it and hoping to keep it that way :) here's a few snaps, plus a couple of shots at the bottom of the TS force so far.

Been a while since I've posted, have been in something of a hobby funk. Having enjoyed painting Contemptors, I decided to progress the Robot theme. Went to the Open Day on Sunday and decided to snag myself some Iron Circle, and a second Darkfire Castellax.

Here's the first, of many (alongside my dog's biscuit treats). I know they're not super useful and all, but I love the minis so what the hell. Also have parts to make a Kyr Vhalen conversion at some point too.

That's my HQ pretty much built up now. Counts-as Kyr Vhalen/Warsmith (nothing fancy, just using some spare bits I've lying around) and a couple of Iron Circle Automata. Haven't glued their shields into place yet, nor the cable from the torso to the shield arm for ease of painting, which I will get round to as soon a the heat wears off and it's not too humid to prime my minis.

I've got another Darkfire Castellax to build to go with the Praevian and DF Castellax I've already started painting. At some point soon I'm gonna treat myself to the Paranoid Android, Mecha-Stalin himself.

Domitar (and so the Iron Circle) are positively massive yup.

Huzzah! At last, thank you Forge World! I can now finally finish off the minis that are mostly done for my Thousand Sons. Next up, adding them to my Rhinos, Contemptor, Sicaran Venator etc
