I was going to ask where the "minuscule Tzeentch symbol" mentioned in November's White Dwarf was.

Thanks very much! Yeah the muted look suits me. I do like the metallic look but it makes it harder to do the over-weathered look I favour. And yeah, 8 saw that Tzeentch symbol too :)

It's been a while...and I'm slowly getting back into painting again after something of a hobby siesta. Having come back from the Weekender, I fell somewhat nuts for the black Custodes scheme in Inferno, having previously discounted the Custodes and their gold armour. I really enjoy painting black, and these would make a nice counter to my Thousand Sons.

I've knocked up a tester, forgive the duff photos. Need to go back and give the spear blade another thinned blue glaze and I'm definitely changing his base, I don't particularly like the grey. I'll most likely do the same as my Thousand Sons.

Next up, I've got 5 more Custodian Guard, 3 Hetaeron Guard, and Ixion Hale to paint up. Trying to decide how to paint the Hetaerons up, probably just add a touch more gold here and there as they're using the current Custodes models, though they're modelled with spear and shield. I also snagged a Contemptor for them and the Pallus grav tank, plus 5 more chaps, but I'm ju8st gonna work on the above and see how I get on.

Many thanks. I'm going to go back and re-do his base, mind. Not especially happy with the grey as it blends a bit too much into the black, so I'll change it to be more liked the Desert bases my Thousand Sons have.

I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment with the BlackStodes; I've just about finished painting Ixion Hale. I've swapped his helmet for a shield, cos I do love the shields (and who doesn't enjoy a rerollable 3++). There's a few bits I need to finish, such as finishing the gems on his Iron Halo, highlighting his face, and doing something with his goatee. Other than that I'm fairly pleased with him. Now, onto the other 5 Custodian Guard and the 3 Hetaeron Guard.

Managed to get a game in a week ago with a friend against his Ultramarines. A couple of mistakes were made which we've since realised but he was trying out an UM list and it was my first time using the TS rules.

Hey gang, after another hobby break, I'm back in business. There's a few things I need to do, such as rebase all my Thousand Sons (I needs a lighter brown that doesn't quite so easily blend into the scheme of the army! I also want to get back into my Custodes.

 

In the meantime though, here's a kitbashed Blood Angels Praetor I've knocked up quickly. I was looking at a Crusade type force for 40k 8th edition and found I had some Sanguinary Guard lying around. Havn't done Blood Angels since the 90's, so thought why not. I decided to try and Heresy them up a bit (I'm gonna get onto those next) and do a small group of minis that I can use in 40k but also are 30k useable, who will work with the Adeptus Custodes I have. Anyhoo, thought I'd get a HQ done for them. Havnt glued his backpack on, nor him to his base.

 

I also got Magister Amon and 5 Sekhmet Terminators for my Sons who I'm priming as I speak alongside the BA Praetor.

After a slight Primer mishap, and some replacement parts, I've just about finished my Blood Angels 3rd Company Praetor. Just need to tidy up some of the paint chips. Awaiting some weathering powders and hoping those glorious new FW BA Transfer sheets are out soon. Happy enough with him. Onto the Sanguinary Guard next, and making them a tad more Heresy relevant.
