Yup. The Venator forces the superheavies into only being able to snap fire which neuters it and the Vindicator laser destroyer kills it stone dead :)

I only write stuff like that because I have WAY too much time on my hands in the evenings, but I wouldn't call it poetry :D

Unfortunately no Laser Destroyer  Hype

My roomate whom I trusted with my order  has made a clerical error.

after returning home from my 12 hour shift  ( to a power outage )   I asked her if she ordered the vindicator for me to which she replied

" Of course , I got you the stumpy ones cause they are cute"

Of course I cant get mad at her  over this but it seems I will have to wait a bit before I can get Laser Vindicators

Mind you  this woman runs an Imperial Guard / Sola Auxillia Tank Company  - n -

Im not willing to do that for 1 reason

If I do so its bound to lead to an argument

He doesn't want to be the disowned Templar like the first captain. May we not speak his name :tongue.:

Its funny cause as many times as I  run back what happened with Sigismund in my head I cant see myself not making the same choice he did. Maybe its because im catholic and have had moments of clarity that ive chalked up to faith before but the whole Keeler thing doesn't bug me the way it bugs others. Plus it makes him a more interesting character in my mind because it  adds a layer of depth and inner turmoil. All that being said , the way Dorn reacted was also correct. I really am looking forward to the seige  particularly when Sigismund becomes Emperors champion , hopefully that will get its own  Novel/Novella/Audiodrama in and of itself just him walking around  curb stomping  traitor champions  but also how he ends up being selected what goes through his mind. I feel like that bit of fluff when its presented to us will  not only bring the character full circle but also give us our gateway to the Black Templar's in full.

Lol, I find it funny that she thinks the pugnacious pugilist of a tank is cute!! :biggrin.:

Also she must indeed be a fearsome woman to make such a formidable Templar as the Wolfblade think twice about countermanding her orders...

She is the most Kind , selfless , intelligent ,  and unimaginably forgiving woman I have ever met. She has treated me like a wayward little brother for the past two years and helped me grow  considerably as a person.    I am terrified of her

Doesn't matter, got guns

Yeah Pretty Much this

Oh yea this is a project log not a blog so here are some pictures of Godfrey stickytacked into a temporary tank hatch  giving his best Come at me Traitor  Pose.

Eventually he will be int he hatch of my Typhon when it gets here

Its even more funny cause his hair is in  a mohawk like the crest on his helmet

The heavy staccato of artillery was dulled by the  canyon that served at the VIIth legion base of operations. The advance of the Imperial Fists had ground to a halt on Boria a compliance that should have taken weeks was starting to take months. The human resistance which had begun as simple dissenters had spiraled into a full planetary revolt  backed by xenos tech. While casualties for the   VIIth had not been high the timetable needed to be accelerated , and for this the first captain of the Imperial Fists  , Sigismund was sent to Boria with direct orders from his father  Rogal Dorn  that the compliance of the world was to take no more than  one more solar month.

The arrival of the first captain brought with it new challenges for the 432nd 85th  906th and 775th armored. Sigismund was a man with a short temper and notoriously as difficult to work with as he was dangerous in duels. What had been a slow grinding war quickly became a violent and costly flattening of the  resistance elements shielding the greater xenos threat. To this end Godfrey was pleased. He hated this world with a passion , moreso he hated the fact that his Armored Company which he had only recently risen to command of was being used as rearguard and  only sparingly on raids. The new plan of attack had put them in the thick of things.  On the ash wastes they had routed hovering Xenotanks from the flanks tearing through the weak side armor before they could even be engaged and exposing great swaths of infantry to disciplined fire and shattering charges from the Templar's and linebreakers.  They had rolled through the streets of Boria's greatest city providing close support for seeker teams and destroying emplaced weapons as they purged the populace who had turned thier faces from the Emperor to suckle at the foul teat of alien overlords.

But today was different , Today they discussed the Gulch  , the root of the problem on Boria was not the human resistance which had been so severely battered that it was mostly in hiding , it was the xenos ,these creatures humanoid in appearance with mouths that opened both horizontally and vertically tall  with emaciated figures and maws of inhumanly sharp teeth were reminiscent of Wendigos  from ancient terran myth. They could withstand bolt rounds and by all accounts actually did actively feed on the human population of Boria in exchange for advanced technology and weaponry. They had no citadel so much as they made a great canyon structure much like the one the VIIth used for their staging ground heavily defended by both their own kind and the human slaves that were marked to be devoured. The idea that human beings could be used in such a manner turned Godfrey's stomach but it was nearly done , the meeting was to decide the best way to approach the canyon structure after it was bombarded from  orbit.

" Subsequent bombardments would be easiest , there is no need to assault this structure full of ravenous monsters until we have pounded it to dust from orbit , it would be a simple clean up after that would it not?"

The words came from a Centurion called Riven a Seigebreaker and Master of Signal  whom had a reputation of drowning the enemies of mankind in as much ordinance as possible. He had been the man behind the  conquest of Boria Secundus utilizing a mix of pinpoint orbital bombardment and a near constant rain of artillery that had done such catastrophic damage that the human population had surrendered. Riven had ordered the end to the bombardment five hours later.  Among them few were warm to him some even joked behind his back that he would have made a better Iron Warrior than Imperial Fist but regardless of this he was a good friend to Godfrey and Godfrey placed forward the small stone with his companies numerals and symbol onto the table in support of this plan.

Sigismund said nothing for a short while then shook  his head.

" This is the only  place on  this planet that seems to be properly protected from orbital bombardment. The only way this will get done is shattering them with a direct strike "

A small silence fell over the officers present. These direct methods of warfare had indeed sped up the campaign but at the same time had bled each force present quite heavily. Godfrey had lost a larger number of warmachines than he had anticipated already and the cost in life had been heavy once Sigismund had taken over theater command.

" With respect First Captain ....Do you  honestly believe that a single push will be enough to break through the defenses of a dense cave structure? Worse yet even if we do break the defenses we would be absolutely lost in those caves we simply dont know whats in there... not to mention the fact that the way the canyon is built we would have to funnel our armor straight into a killbox just to get close eno-

Sigismund's voice was not angry when he cut Godfrey off  though his tone seemed to hold a level of finality that meant that there would be no further argument.

" Of course .... otherwise I would not suggest it , though we are not going into the caves.  Your armored company will escort my Templars and the Majority of the Linebreakers into the killbox , we will attack  the shield generators that our scouting elements have marked out as being at the foot of the cave structure , well defended yes , but reachable. You will  split your battlegroup into two halves one will escort my contingent the other Thorick's Breachers ,once the generators have been  destroyed we will commence both bombardment and  phosphex artillery attacks  to flush them out of the caves and into the killbox itself , they  will  have to choose between creeping death in the dark of their cracked open cave structure or charging out into our blades. "

It was a pragmatic solution , it gave Riven what he wanted , gave Thorick and his Linebreakers a share in the Glory and put Godfrey at the forefront. Sigismund had appealed to the vanity of each commander with his plan but still  the cost of this would be high the scouting reports had also said that the enemy had a fair bit of armored assets in the killbox and the path was too narrow for the Lapidem Crucis his custom Glaive to fit comfortably without being cumbersome.  Though there was another option.  As the meeting was broken and the commanders sent to prepare Riven walked beside Godfrey a smirk on his face.

" That ugly monstrosity you  favor wont be able to fit in that pass , what are you going to use instead? Or do you plan to get its fat arse stuck and half the entire armored advance?"

Godfrey had become used to Riven's dry snark long ago and while his friends face was hidden by his helm there was no doubt he was smirking it was evident on his words.

" When I became Master of the 775th I was gifted more than just that Glaive and I would thank you not to talk about her like that she is very sensitive about her weight."

Godfrey clutched tightly to the memory of his mother standing atop an old junker tank from his homeworld the memory was but a fragment he didn't even know if it was real anymore ,it felt like a lifetime ago , mostly because it had been. Though he was glad to have reason to remember it.

" You are talking about your pet project aren't you?"

Godfrey nodded his servo arm suddenly unfolding from his powerpack a bit as if the thought of working on the vehicle in question had caused it to become ready.

" It is ready  , and properly armed for this task. "

Riven scoffed  a bit but let the argument die before it began.

" To authorize phosphex Lord Dorn must want this done yesterday."

Godfrey shrugged his shoulders the gesture reminding him exactly how tired he was and how tired he would soon be getting the lapidem  praevaricator prepared the Typhon  was half disassembled after his last attempt to  improve the motive drives and lighten the tank while still keeping it stabilized enough to fire its main weapon system on the move. While the Lapidem Crucis  had been his mentors warmachine and the command tank for the 775th for the better part of a hundred years the Lapidem Praevaricator was his own superheavy tank he had been its first and only commander and while it likely would never serve as the command tank in full capacity an operation such as this would be a perfect place to allow it to shine.

" You should be happy , you like shelling things into oblivion. "

Riven began to wander away back toward  his own section of the canyon.

" Just because I like doing something doesn't mean it is the correct course of action brother , just like the first captain."

Godfrey chose to let that go and instead he began to stride through the rows of warmachines of the 775th his company , his armored division , many of these poor things were damaged , and all were filthy but no less resplendent they drank fuel and were patched of their many wounds both great and small , as macrolifters were bringing down parts and hauling the carcasses of  destroyed war machines back up into orbit he paused to run his gauntleted fingers of the stone hand a Sicaran Battle Tank he had served aboard for a short time , pristine despite being caked in filth he moved on to the covered garage section  blasted into the canyon side to serve as a work and command station for the 775th.  He paid no attention to his brothers or even the humans as they scurried out of his path. He stared at the Lapidem Crucis her hull scored with many wounds from the xeno Gravity tanks , she had immolated scores of human reistance and punched holes in plenty of their transports setting alight the passengers in a beautiful example of the Emperors Wrath. But for her this war was over , he turned his gaze to the half broken down Typhon  its  dreadhammer siege cannon hanging suspended by great chains above  its bay ,  its stripped down frame carefully held in place by anti gravity generators  she was beautiful even like this stripped bare and open to him , if the tech priests who had trained him on mars could see this he would likely be called many things and none of them pleasant, though he banished the thoughts from his mind and voxed to Daniels his second.

" We need to get to work , bring the servitors ..."

The discussion between Sigismund and your characters was great, the correct amount of levity, the right tone for Superhuman Knight-Templars and destroyers of worlds.

Thanks , I was trying to be pretty careful with him since hes a real character and all.  Im debating  writing up the Battle in the Gulch itself but ill probably wait till my Tphon actually gets here for that burst of inspiration.

So  hours before the operation to take the Gulch  which will likely be called  Avalanche or something one of the contemptors limps its way to Godfrey's garage and goes " I  wish to serve"  and his legs arepretty badly messed up , at best he can be helped to be able to walk but running or dynamic motion wont be possible.

So Godfrey looks over at one of the destroyed predators getting ready to be macro lifted back to to orbit and he strips its turret quickly fitting it to  brother  Trevor's  Arm thus we get

But we will get into all that when I write part 2
