Dantay VI
Ouch for the Spartan.. If that is a picture post droppage, then you did a real good job patching it up/ When mine took a trip south it was the tracks which suffered badly, tried fixing them but some were too busted, so in fluff terms it is battle damage, now with the gaps in the tracks it is a marker to its foes as to which tank has passed by and who they should beware of. Cant rememeber if it was here or elsewhere you were asking about close combat arms, but have you considered using destroyers, maybe jump pack ones? They come with bolt pistols in both hands, so you can use whichever arm you need for CC specialist, plus the reinforced armour makes for cool looking assault troops or breachers. Plus the rad grenade launcher would look pretty sweet as a suspensor webbed missile launcher :) The helms ar epretty close t Phalanx warder style helms too so you could mix them into your IF pretty easily. I have used the destroyers in my breachers and in my assault squads, and I think they look pretty good Lord Blackwood 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314998-bladewolf-and-the-horus-heresy/page/42/#findComment-4692231 Share on other sites

Lord Blackwood
Loving the Speaker of the Dead Dantay called Threadbinder was pulled from the Ice as a youth and raised to the legion in one of the first harvests from fenris. How exactly he came to become a member of the Priesthood is unknown , though his deed name Threadbinder comes from the time spent during the Xenocides where he was said to have served with great distinction , stopping the fraying of threads of many of his brothers and keeping them alive. It is a deed name he finds somewhat distasteful considering how many of his kinsmen died. Armed with the Great Frost blade Wyrdfang mostly done , need to do the eyes and some details here and there. Oh and I didint forget his Fang of Morkai Reductor ,hes got one. Some other progress today I also got some more work done on the Praetor Edited March 26, 2017 by Bladewolf Jarl Kjaran Coldheart, Legionnaire of the VIIth and Runefyre 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314998-bladewolf-and-the-horus-heresy/page/42/#findComment-4695516 Share on other sites

Charlo
Bruh, you smash these out so quick :P I'm taking a leaf out of your book with my Ad Mech... Base coats and maximum nuln washes for the win. Lord Blackwood
Bruh, you smash these out so quick I'm taking a leaf out of your book with my Ad Mech... Base coats and maximum nuln washes for the win. Something ive found that helps is to base with a layer color , over a strong undercoat , the reason I go with so many washes is because i like to stain my layer color into something its not , in the case of my Templars/ Imperial fists its getting a grey down to a black , in the case of my wolves its trying to get a blue grey closer to a storm grey Of course a better painter will do a better job than me , and take the time to go back and highlight certain things and such. Kinda hard to get to that when you work as many hours as I have been XP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314998-bladewolf-and-the-horus-heresy/page/42/#findComment-4696581 Share on other sites
Charlo
Yeah man, I like the technique - I don't have too much paint time either so it works wonders for me too, though I've been using base colours for a really dark outcome. Good tip on bringing colours down though, I might try it that way on my next batch. Lord Blackwood
So got a good bit done today. Completely finished the second veteran Squad ! I also ordered a moritat the volkite one , so i can swap his head with the wolf helm I use for all my consuls ,Im not sure the best way to run him since they are kinda naff , but I might have to cut off his one hand and swap it with a plasma pistol , not sure. I plan on painting him in the same legion colors as everyone else , will probably go with a black helm for him due to the sort of consul he is. The next Scion of House blackwood ( my last Cerastus pattern knightt is assembled and primed. ) Still a lot tto work on , but I feel like today was productive and I might actually have tomorrow off as well.
