The stains on the weathering look very realistic and the lens looks great.

Thanks Pearson, glad you like it. Now onto the other 9!

The weathering looks great! How do yo do that? Especially the silver scratches on the white portion?

Cheers! It's pretty simple, just dabed on some leadbelcher using a sponge, then apply more liberally over the edges drawing the paint upward. I then used AK streaking grime, really nice product, didn't even have to seal the acrylic beforehand. I also used it to add more natural tone to the metalics, which you can see over the studs and emblem of the shield.

Immortals ready for their trip to WHW. C&C welcome.

I think the black armour could do with some of those brown/orange streaks in a few places, too. Other than that, lovely work as per usual. Have a great time at WHW! :tu:

They look ace! Each individual one looks tough and gritty and seeing them together looks great!

Please take a lot of pics at WHW!

Thanks mate, they are such a great kit, wasn't enough arms in a firing position though so I had to do a lot of resin bending! I just hope they sort the rules out in the next legion red book.

I love the white shields with your Immortals, great stuff!

Cheers Luna, not a patch on your work though! How's medical school going?

The Immortals look amazing man, very jealous :D

Thanks Reyner!

Thanks mate, yeah I've applied the streaking grime in various places, doesn't come out well on the photos as it's quite a subtle tone over black. It's tough going doing streaks in small detail, although I have had some success using weathering powders mixed with decal fix, seems to show up better on black. I got too lazy to try it towards the end!

WHW will be in November, got a fair amount to work on for both forces, next up, quad mortars!

Did you ever get a gaming buddy to pit your loyalists against?

REALLY like these, nice weathering and good use of white as a spot colour. Really like the tribune a few pages back too. Inspirational should I ever actually build mine.

Cheers, yeah the white really helps ephasise the weathring effects, it's partly why I want to start some world eaters! Must resist another legion project.....

The tribune has some great potential, just don't use the stock head!

Morning all!

I’m looking to finish off my iron hands force to bring it to 3000. But I can’t decide what to add to my current list. I usually spend too much time procrastinating in the Forge world shop so I would appreciate your input!

Here’s the list so far:

HQ

Castremen Orth - 80pts

LoW

Ferrus Manus (head of the gorgon) - 455pts

Troops

X2 tactical squads in rhinos - 320pts

Elites

X10 Tartarus terminators, x6 power gloves x 2 chain fists, x2 plasma blasters.

Spartan, armoured ceramite, flare shield - 775pts

Medusan Immortals, volkite chargers x10, breaching charge

Land raider proteus - 510pts

Castelax x2 - 210pts

Cortus contemptors x2 dcc with grav/multimelta, dcc with grav + havoc launcher - 330pts

Total = 2680

So, with that in mind, here are my thoughts:

Option 1: sicaran battle tank + whirlwind scorpius.

Pros - iconic tank for Orth with efficient anti infantry in the scorpius

Cons - common unit choice

Option 2: malcador assault tank

Pros - interesting choice, fits the theme

Cons - model aesthetic does not fit with the rest of the force.

Option 3: drop Ferrus Manus and add a fellblade with autek mor as HQ

Pros - can use the force as a “post istvaan force”. Awesome looking tank.

Autek improves the offensive capability of the force

Cons - cost! Perhaps not the best superheavy choice?

Option 4 - drop Orth and Ferrus, add Autek and a legion Glaive

Pros - awesome model, efficient LoW choice

Cons - cost! Limited to high points games. Will also need to drop the flare shield on the spartan.

What do you think?

What tanks painted up in Iron Hand colours do you already have (if any)?

Hi mate, essentially everything in the above list is painted up for the Xth, apart from a few tactical marines and the second rhino.

So, spartan, proteus, rhino, (also a mk1 vindicator Not included above)
