I'm considering taking some white scars as evil allies to my SoH

Any thoughts as to what I should take?

What do you run in your SoH list? How many points are you looking to dedicate to Scars?

If we are speaking in general. For me Jetbikes, javelins and if your willing to invest the points Outriders really shine. I know of a few people who are having some fun with assault marines aswell

Its really funny to see peoples faces when they realise my 9 javelins pump out 36 crack missiles on the first round of shooting

How on earth do they manage that? 36 missiles is a lot!!

9 javelins with CML and 2 hunter killers each. 4 missiles each. 12 missiles per squadron. 36 for 3 squadrons. Really really funny!

Lol that's 765 points I think, and you might be screwed if there's AV14 :P

I'm considering maybe 1000 points as an allied detachment. Weird thing is: I can't take the long march and Allies.

With The Armoured Breakthrough ROW giving any tank with 3 hull points (preds/vindi's) the fast special rule, do you white scars players plan on using it since it give you access to lots of Armour that can keep up with with your bikes from the FA slot.

Here is my take on a possible list using Armoured Breakthrough

Would this not require the landspeeders to be stationary to fire?

On the move you can only fire 2 weapons at full balistic skill thanks to being a fast vehicle.

Im getting this is a very all or nothing strategy

Ok so I have a campaign weekend in May among my gaming group at WHW. Really looking forward to it but one of the traitors is playing Death Guard. Why does that bother me? Because he owns 15 Dreadnoughts and a Typhon. Anyone care to share any tips on what I can do with the list below? I can guarantee he will take the Typhon and as many Dreads as he can!

This is what I will be running

So lists have already been submitted so we cant change them now but we wont know everyone else for a while yet. Any suggestions?

Ive been using the Chogorian Brotherhood and ive been working with a mixed force

Praetor- bike, eagle, etc

Outriders- 6 men plasma guns

Jetbikes- 3 plasma cannon

Stormeagle

Landspeeders (havoks)

Preditors- 2 exicutioners

Sicarian venator

If i have points i field a vet squad, tactical support squad, assault squad (15 men) and a command squad on bikes.

Infantry i try to outflank obviously and had some success with the flamer support (just held back by limited/ poor target choice)

I simply dont have the bikes to just go all out on the biker theme so how would people consider the selection im fielding?

One thing I've just realised... The Bonus Cover Save does not mesh with Skilled Rider. Skilled Rider is not an "always on" Cover Save, it only triggers when you Jink, and Moving 12" to get a Cover Save boost, but it's not Jink. As the Bonus Cover Save caps at 3+, and you have that from Skilled Rider+Jink anyway, that bonus Cover Save only triggers a 6+, not a 5+ Cover on Bikers

I'm not sure if this is intentional, but it certainly sucks to limit the optimization ceiling that way.

I have used it fairly well against Sicarans. They ignore Jink so jumping into ruins gives you a 3+ cover save which is useful. Considering most people run them its a bit of a niche but handy.

Hey guys ! Have you thought about running regular Outriders with boltguns for a cheapish Troops slot in Chogorian brotherhood ?

It's tempting to put Plasmaguns on them for sure, but I was thinking that a T5 Tactical squad with twin linked weapons and a good mobility/deployment options could be awesome.

Also, why would I want a T5 Twin-linked tac squad as troops when I can instead get a T5 Twin-Linked Plasma Squad as Troops or Power Weapons & Melta Bomb Assault Bikers?

If youre taking them, might as well make them useful and if points are an Issue then take MSU jetbikes and get a harder hitting base weapon and a more resilient platform that has a bit more mobility.

The thing is most other armies will spend 400+ points on useless tactical marines. We can do it and make them bloody useful. This is a big difference between us and other legions. We already have an advantage as we dont have the tactical marines tax. Taking bog standard bikes is kinda negating that as they wont really do anything other then score. The amount of people who look at my army at 2500 points and say is that really 2500 points?

People expect a Scars army to be Outnumbered but we arent by a lot. I run a jetbike heavy list and it really is funny when you see the look on your opponents face and tey see the sheer amount of stuff you can take
