I use Let the Dice Decide and Bits and Kits for my bitz needs. Never had any problem with delivery to Ontario. Postage to Canada on both is flat-rate so it's best to make a big order at once.

I think that converted backpack is absolutely amazing, to be honest, and while the new guy is cool enough, could you maybe show us the backpack on that NL champ you originally intended it for? Pretty please...?

Thanks! I was really happy with how the jump pack turned out too! I liked double vent more than single vent on the model so i opted not to use the converted pack. Some day I'll get one of the old jump packs with arched vents and complete the NL champ. And sure thing, here's some pics:

Just looked through all of the conversions and they rock. Nurgle helmet is brilliant where's it from? For the latest guy any difficulty in leg posing was totally worth it, so I suppose my next question has to be when can we expect some paint?

Thanks a lot! The nurgle helmet is the champion upgrade from the regular CSM tactical squad. I just cut off the single horn and added two horns (which think were from a terminator head), and added two small discs to the front of the helmet to give off a gas mask feel. And the thing with paint is that i don't really actually have any at the moment as they have dried up after 4 years. I will definitely get some new  paint in the future but I don't have much money to spare at the moment. I might borrow some paints from a friend when he goes on vacation later this year. My painting isn't all that special anyways so I'm satisfied with just converting for now.

Your conversion work is fantastic brother that raptor Lord especially keep up the awesome work

Thanks! Your leviathan is looking really good too!

Cool conversions.

Thanks, glad you like them!

Oh cool thanks! I'll definitely check it out.

Some awesome conversions here. I really like the jump pack with the defiler and DP bits and the Oni mask. Great work

Thanks! I'm really happy with how the jump pack and oni mask turned out too. Looking forward to seeing your version of Angron completed :smile.:

It's been pretty hectic this week but finals are over at last. Haven't had much time this week to kitbash but I did complete this Ultramarines Sergeant which I intend use to practice painting again in a few weeks. On a side note I scored an old chaplain and librarian from a garage sale yesterday for 5 bucks. Was literally just two random models in a "miscellaneous" box :tongue.:

That's a hell of a good score brother especially the chaplain I love that old sculpt both will make fantastic conversions.

Thanks! I'm still conflicted on keeping them as is or chopping them up for parts haha.

Man, fantastic job on the NL Champ. Wants me to make one too. Too many bling these days^^

Thanks! And some chaos stuff from you would be cool

:censored:...just pure brilliance.

The original 4 champions..like 4 horsemen

Thanks! I did my best to convey each champion properly so I'm glad I did them justice.

So this week I tentatively decided what Chapters I want for my kill team for Deathwatch:

Novamarines Librarian

Black Templars Chaplain

Dark Angels Watch Captain

Iron Hands Marine (Done)

Star Phantoms Marine (Done)

Warmongers Marine

Space Wolves Marine

Blood Angels Marine

Iron Fists Marine

Invaders Marine

I finished the Star Phantom Marine this week, I chose this chapter cause I wanted a marine that specialized in long range assault so it would go with the special looking bolter (not sure where its from, got in a bitzbox off craigslist). And who would have thought that the most difficult part of the model would be the two thin strips of GS on the shoulder pad, the damn things kept shifting :furious:. I'm hoping ill get more used to re-posing legs in the future cause it took me sooo long to dismantle and re-pose this time. C&C is appreciated!

I got side tracked from deathwatch this week cause I was able to try out instant mold. Seeing pictures of the legion of the damned is actually what got me into playing warhammer, or more specifically Sergeant Centurius. I thought the legion of the damned were so cool and wanted to play them but at the time the new models hadn't come out and it was very hard to find enough of the old models to play. I had next to no conversion experience so I was unable to achieve the look I wanted and so I gave up on it. I recently used instant mold on a chaplain head and was really happy with how the head turned out and wanted to try converting a legion of the damned marine again and this is what I ended up with. C&C is appreciated.

Omg!!! That guy let's me wish to restart a chaos army.

Awesome sculpting here. Or did you pressmold the head? Seems familiar. Bit even then unbelievably great job.

Edited by MikhalLeNoir

@MikhalLeNoir: Thanks glad you like him, but even with all the images of hell the Legion of the Damned are still "loyalist" not chaos haha. I used instant mold on a chaplain head to make a press mold. Instant mold is really awesome, I'll be using it frequently in conversions now.

I picked up the new white dwarf yesterday and have some ideas for converting the slaughter priest but need some input about bits to use. I'd like to give him bare arms, but I'm not familiar with the current age of sigmar sets. Which bare arms would fit the slaughter priest model the best in terms of size/scale? Or maybe it'd be better to stick with the default arms and attempt to re-pose them instead of replace? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Woot? I simply missed the fact that he is legion of the damned....okay...challenge accepted....next army will be truscale legion of the damned. Sometime in the future...not the near future....distant...^^

I would take arms from the bloodwarriors. At least for the left one. I guess you have the one you got in the white dwarf^^.

Alternative could be to wait for Khârn and hack the model apart.

Kraut used Ork arms for his Slaughter Priest plastic Angron conversion I think. just swap the big gorilla hands off the ork arms and it should work quite well.

I must say you've got the legion of the dammed guy spot on, great work.

True scale legion of the damned is also something I've considered before too haha. It would be a huge undertaking with all the bones and flames needed to sculpt. Also I don't think I'd hack Khârn apart just for parts given the price tag haha.

OH RIGHT, I can't believe I forgot about Kraut's conversion. Will definitely try ork arms when I can get my hands on some. And I'm glad I got the legion of the damned right. I basically got instant mold for the first time so I tried on the head and then had to dig through all my bits to find suitable parts.

So back to death watch this week. I worked on the Space Wolf this time and copied a certain iconic pose . I'm quite happy with how the pose turned out and glad that I had just enough wolfy bits to make him look a little more like a Space Wolf instead of just a guy with dual axes. Also instant mold is really amazing and wish I'd started using it earlier. I don't think I would have been able to get the chapter badge so crisp through sculpting. C&C is appreciated

  • 2 weeks later...

This week I worked on a Deathwatch Black Templars Chaplain. He is influenced by Brother Chaplain Kage's Imperial Fists chaplain from a few years back. Cutting the tubing off the chaos marine head was more difficult than i expected. Also I finally painted something in 4 years. I borrowed some paints from a friend and finished my true-scale chaos marine. I went for a dull and blackened gold trim as opposed to a shiny one. Will keep practicing painting and hopefully get a steadier hand. Had to use phone this week so pics are a tad blurry. C&C is appreciated

  • 2 weeks later...

While BnC was down I was unable to procrastinate properly and had to work for real :wacko.: Anyways I have a double update this week. Last week I attempted my first full kitbash of a inquisitor and quite happy with how he turned out. I chose to give him a power fist and shotgun so he can get up close and personal. I've gotten some other ideas for building a bigger and more armored inquisitor that I'll start on once I can borrow my friends dremel. This week I worked on the Novamarine Librarian of my DW squad. I'm not really sure about the flame sword, I was originally going to do that zigzag pattern thats usually on force weapons but i kept messing that up so I tried flames instead. What I should do with the flames on the sword, keep it or take it off? C&C is appreciated

VERY COOL !!!!

Thank you!

Burn!!!

:furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

You have some neat sculpting skills. I am envious.

Thanks! The key is to waste so much GS that you can't afford to keep screwing up :tongue.: . I try to do what I can with the GW sculpting tool, someday I'll bite the bullet and order some clay shapers and get everything smoother too.

Dude, your sculpting/conversion skills rule. I love that Librarian. It's great that you started painting again, because that cool stuff deserves a paint job.

Haha thank you! It's not that I don't want to paint, and more that all my paints had dried up after 4 years and I haven't started buying new paints yet....ok that was a lie I'm horrible about getting things painted too, converting is just so much more fun for me.

This week I built this Angry Marine with POWER FEET. I was looking for some bits for my deathwatch squad when I came across a box with a small Death Guard force I was building as well as some other projects. I found the reposed power fist and felt I needed to finish the rest of the model. So now this is the most ridiculous model I've ever put together but I'm happy with how it turned out. C&C is appreciated!

Also some plans for the future in no particular order: finishing DW squad (5 left), DG force (plague marines, daemon prince, typhus, rhinos), Inquistor Warband (don't know how to play INQ28 but I've been looking at all these amazing project logs that I want to build one myself and learn how to play), finish converting the WD slaughterpriest, Dornian Heresy Mark 16 Damocles (I've wanted to build one since Dornian Heresy was written but I lacked the sculpting skills at the time so I'll attempt it now that I have steadier hands).

This week I decided to dig out my finecast Khârn i bought a few years ago. It was a complete impulse buy at the time and never ended up doing anything with it till now. I tried to repose him similar to the new Khârn but as usual posing legs is hard. A bit difficult to see the sense of movement in the picture, but overall I'm happy with my attempt at the repose.

Also for my INQ28 Inquistor Warband I've decided the conversion from a few posts up will now be Interrogator Calex Wren (instead of an inquisitor). I'm still working out his fluff and will be building the rest of the warband as I get used to converting non-marines. I finished up the inquisitor's familiar this week, everyone in the warband will be in hoods of some sort.

Warband Members: Interrogator, Inquisitor, Familiar, Primaris Psyker, Magos, Imperial Guard Veteran (maybe 2), Priest. I might add more members later but this will be it for now.

At least he doesn't look as if he is falling^^

That said, i like him. The pose is better than the original and not as goofy as the new one so you have my sword

Thanks! Yeah i think the new Khârn's legs are a bit too close together, but i do like the new look of the armor overall though.

Still not sure about holding the sword by the end like that, but anyone that flips you off with a powerfist is good in my book :biggrin.:

Haha, i was originally going to go for double power fists with power feet, but decided on holding a powersword the other way would be more ridiculous.

I was swamped with midterms this week but thats over and now I have some breathing room for hobby time. I made a Blood Angels Captain sitting on a command throne this week. I've always wanted a "sitting" model after seeing that Marneus Calgar art. I got spacehulk a few years ago and was really happy with the dead terminator on the throne too, but i wanted to try making my own version too so i collected parts. I finally started working on and finished the project this week. Figuring out how to build the throne and getting the legs to work was a bit of a challenge given the bulk of the throne but I'm happy with how he turned out. Also I picked up the ultramarines standard bearer and preordered burning of prospero yesterday (i should be buying replacement paints instead of extra models though :mellow.:).
