I like the objective marker a lot! What chapter are you going to paint him as?

Also, that sniper's tabard shows a lot of movement - it looks like she only just started running. :tu:

That objective marker is BRUTAL! I am really tempted to steal this idea! I have some of those lamp posts and I want to practice adding battle damage to my minis and this seems like a perfect way to do both.

Did I mention that objective marker is brutal??!

Now that's battle damage! Particularly impressed with you getting the exposed skull into the helmet.

Chaos Monk is extremely characterful.  They both make the sniper look decidedly plain by comparison, though it's a rock solid model.

Thanks Augustus! I hadn't really decided when I started building him but since he's so generic without specific markings I might go for a legion like Ultramarines in the future when I replace my paints. That's reassuring to hear about the sniper cause the tabard was a pretty iffy part for me!

The objective marker looks amazing! Reminds me of the Cyber-Zombie Iron Hands from the FW Blackbooks.

Thanks Observer! Glad you liked the model, I had forgotten about those Cyber-Zombie Iron Hands, I can see what you mean!

Cracking objective marker, the little details such as the cabling on the armour and exposed bone add a lot. All the battle damage and weathering looks good too.

Thanks Pearson73! I wanted to show the objective marker to show a space marine and not just power armor so glad the details worked out ok! Battle damage is super fun to do so I like to make objective markers cause I don't have to worry about damaging too much.

That objective marker is insane!!! great work Vair!

Thanks Sagentus! It was really fun dinging up the armor!

Thanks hushrong! By all means steal away! Would love to see your version, but be careful with battle damage it can get a little addicting . I wanted the objective marker to reflect that quote I posted so getting killed, desecrated, strung up and forgotten till all the flesh peeled off is the direction I went.

Brutal !!! the attention to detail is great .

Thanks DSS7! Loyalists have it hard, they have to worry about being dishonored even after death. The little details were fun to do!

Wow. This objective marker is insane. Sent it to me and I will cast it.

Thanks Mikhal! I really like the dead Wardens you've been adding to your bases as well, especially since they're true scale!

Thanks sock! I just dremeled into his face until I could fit the skull in but yea it took some tweaking to make sure I didn't break through the other side. The Chaos Monk is probably my favorite build so far this year, it was kind of like a domino effect where once I decided on a monk all the rest of the bits fell into place. Agreed that the sniper is more plain, I kinda wanted to do something simple cause when I was doing the monk's base I found that cracked skull and knew I wanted to do another objective marker for the following week.

Yes brother!

Love that objective marker, great work!

Thanks NightHunters! Glad you liked the objective marker, it's still a tad fragile so I should really buy some more drill bits and pin it properly.

Love the dead marine, awesome obj marker!

Thanks Chickenleg! I've always had a morbid fascination with dead marines so instead of having them just be part of bases it's nice to make them the main feature sometimes!

On time for the first time in a while! I finished another Interrogator for INQ28 this week. He sort of came about just when I was testing out bits combinations. I think he ended up as what I feel is the "stereotypical" interrogator look (that sort of coat with a bionic eye, powersword and pistol). He was a nice and quick build but I like him quite a lot. I think I'll add him to the warband of that plastic inquisitor I made last year, maybe along with the sniper and goliath champion. Progress on my Dark Mechanicum warband has stopped cause I haven't been able to source bits i need locally and haven't been able to find a good build I like with my current bits. Hopefully inspiration strikes and I'll be able to figure something out. Thanks for looking and C&C is appreciated!

That Objective Marker is incredible . How you got the head in the helmet is beyond me and it looks fantastic. The new Inquisitor is looking pretty awesome too, If I am right, then the legs came from the guy at the centre of this image:

Awesome stuff as always Vairo :smile.:

Splendid work on this one.

Thanks Mikhal! Fun to do something simple every now and then!

New inquisitor looks good! Where are his legs from?

Thanks hushrong! As the others have said, its the legs from one of the chaos cultists.

Thanks Nemac! Glad you liked the objective marker, dremels open the door to so many conversion opportunities! Thanks for posting the pic!

Exams are over for me this semester, probably the soonest they've ever ended yet. Hopefully that means more hobby time for the next couple weeks. Anyways this week I finished this 30k Death Guard Heavy Support Veteran. I wanted to do something with the Blight Launcher from the easy build DG and after some dryfitting of parts I decided on this. I've had that sergeant chronus torso for years now and never thought about using it after chopping off one of the shoulder pads cause I didn't think I could fix the chopped off parts but I think I've managed to get it to look relatively cohesive now. This was a fun build, I definitely want to do a 30k army when I can afford it in the future (probably DA though). Thanks for looking and C&C is appreciated!

Nice, and thanks for the answers everyone! I still have this tick in th eback of my head to do Savlar Chem-Dogs and I need to get me some ragged trenchcoat legs and those we be perfect for a few cultists in disguise...I mean loyal guardsmen.

As for the Death Guard Legionaire...DAAAAANNNNG! That is one heck of a conversion. Plastic mk3 legs, Chronus' torso, and an EZ DG arm all combined with some fantastic green stuff skill! The groin plates look awesome as does the Haloed Skull! Now please make a few dozen more...

Looking good, especially the Legion icon and all the extra work and detail on the legs; I really like the smooth greaves with bonding studs.

Thanks Pearson73! I thought the bonding studs would be a nice fit for DG!

Looks fricking awesome, dude! Well done on the sculpting too - the aquila is hard to do right, and you've seem to manage it wonderfully.

QFT! It looks fantastic and we need MOAR

Thanks Augustus! I'm quite happy with how the aquila turned out, definitely shows that I'm slowly improving! I do want to do a DG army for 40k so I was tempted to do some 30k versions as well, but ultimately I think I'll end up going with Dark Angels when I do get around to starting a 30k army. However I am working on another 30k DG model which will hopefully get completed in the next few days.

Yessir looking mighty fine!

Great work on the icon and the bonding studs are a nice touch.

Thanks Markus_! Glad you liked the model, I'm quite happy with the icon myself even though it's a bit different from the official pads.

Dam vair you strike again with another amazing model. Great use on an old model and mixing it with new bits

Thanks Sagentus! While it's always fun to use new bits, I think it's good to make use of old ones to show that they can still work out nicely!

Thanks hushrong! DO IT! Would love to see some Savlar Chem-Dogs from you! Mixing parts is always fun so I'm glad the bits fit nicely together. I do have another DG model coming up but I think when I get around to doing a 30k army it'll be for Dark Angels. Very tempted to just randomly do some though haha.

Very nice!! I love the use of the good old metal!

Thanks Chickenleg! Plastic and resin are getting better and better but I still love metal models, nothing can compare to that weight!

Your Greenstuff skills are fantastic as usual! The Death Guard conversion is very era appropriate and looks great!

Thanks Kordhal! I'm happy to be slowly improving on my sculpting. Glad you think it's era appropriate!

Mini update. I re-based other members of my Chaos Warband to match closer with the Chaos Monk. I wanted to include skulls but not as much as the Chaos Monk cause the amount I put on there was supposed to be a contrast to his seemingly peaceful posing. I quite like this cork basing, it's fun to pull chunks off to fit the shape of the base. I'm currently working on another 30k Death Guard model, hopefully will get that done in the next few days. Thanks for looking and C&C is appreciated!
