Mikhals Wonderland - Today: a blast from the past

So in order to keep my Wardens of Light - Thread clean, I decided to open a thread with all my other stuff I am working on ( making only bling bling is a little bit dull)

 

So here I start with Raktra, Lost Primarch of the Berserkers of Uran, XIth Legion

("there is only one true XIth you heretic and they are called Wardens of Light!!!"

So after this is cleared, the first WiP on this hopefully long lasting series.

Man, he looks brutal, as he should. If I were to offer some suggestions, I would say that his left arm seems just a wee bit short in comparison to the rest of him. Then again, it may just be the camera angle. Also, the head seems a little large; I've seen conversions that suggest that the Forgeworld primarch heads are really the same size as normal space marine heads. But so far, he looks awesome.

Thx mate. The arm is really too short. But luckily that is still an ongoing project so change will come.

 

For the head: you are absolutely right, but I was mever a fam of the smallish fw heads. If you check out Gwal amd Kostja, i decided to go for the bigger head in all primarch conversion. Waterhead vs shrink head.

So he is slowly getting to where I want him to be. Still need a backpack, chains, hands, cables, shoulder pads and arms though.....and of course a crotchprotection.

He is really huge and i used a daemon prince from wargames exclusive but as Daerdd is a loyalist I habe to remove the chaos symbols ( so many) and although he is big, he is not broad enough ( hulk was metal so not usable as a base for Daerdd)

95% because I need to add a few cables amd trusters. And i need to clean him up a bit.

Next comes his base and eventually his adversary.

Dang, Raktra's looking mean as hell, have you considered giving him a cloak of chains? I reckon that would look awesome on him. Also, doesn't Raktra have a hooked chain he uses in combat? Perhaps you could model that sort of coiled around his free arm, ready to snare unfortunate loyalists?

Paint? Yeah, would be great although i am a lousy and slow painter.
