Definitely Vanguard Vets, I do want to make a list for my ASMs at some point though Bjorn.

As for basing given tight deadline these will be done with just astrogranite.

If I like the list I plan to go back finish up the shortcuts I took and put them on the new resin bases like my Elimators are on.

Thx TWH

Black and white with a dash or red never hurts :tu:

Browsing through our supplement more and the SM book finding interesting combos for my list. (FYI I built this list just based on raw unit ability and personal preference. All the stratagems are just gravy and increase there potential significantly!)

Couple of things of note

I'm considering using MoA on my aggressors get them up nice and personal

While the pre game scout move for my VVs seems pretty handy especially if I can advance them into cover. Then in the following phase use the advance and charge strat with the +1 bonus. Id drop Shrike in from DS behind them to help with any subsequent charge.

Side note I might also use that strat in Shrike if the VVs are within 9" and he just dropped in as its activated in the charge phase :D

Downside is my carbine Reivers with grav chutes seem kinda outta place? I guess I'll hold them back until 3rd turn to apply some mid game pressure to a crumbling flank.

This list could be kinda scary if I get first turn :o

Looks like you've got some great ideas!

Don't forget that the Raven's Blade strat (or whatever its called, the re-roll charges) works on all units against one enemy unit. So in cases where you have a MoA unit of Aggressors up in their grill, and Infiltrators pre-move the VVs up alongside them, you can then tap into the Litany that gives +2 to charges for an effective +3, and you can then ship in both the VVs and Aggressors (This is of course assuming map/deployment where you can get an effective alpha strike).

Aggressors clear a big-bada-boom hole in the chaff and then go lumbering in alongside the Chaplain and VVs, and all 3 units get to re-roll charges and get +3 to the roll.

I think you got the right idea on the Carbine Reivers. You in essence have recapped the issue with them - what do they do? Best case scenario is the shoot up some backfield objective camper and take their objective from them - or shoot some infantry and then charge some artillery piece to give it the bad touch juju.

Ah yes that's correct the Aggressors can definitely benefit from that as the VVs will have Shrikes bonus. The Reivers too if they're in support of Aggressors.

Unfortunately I don't have space for a chappy so litanies for me in this list. Although I guess in future I could drop the Reivers for an Ancient and libby?

Pre new books the carbine guys seemed like a good option. I also thought they could benefit from the auto hit strat too but I was wrong. Unfortunately too late to paint up the CC ones now or anything else. Let's see how they go. Ap-1 will still help.

Had a quick play this morning

I could drop the Reivers for a jump pack chappy and upgrade one of the sword and board VVs to a thunder hammer.

However I might keep it as is for now I think the counter assault / objective grabbing Reivers might have more utility instead of going all in on my VVs.

I pulled out the models for my list last night too and realised this might actually be a lot nastier than I realised

Also in the process I found the missing bolter scout squad I thought I had but couldn't find the unassembled models for (since I had already built and primed them...). So the single ebay purchase I made was somewhat redundant

Not sure what mobile OS you're on but I found this app a couple years ago and love it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.courageousoctopus.paintrack

It's basically a digital recipe log for paints. You can also inventory all your paints and search by what you have. I do have the paid version and I'm not sure what the difference are but I believe the free version is still very robust.

you can then tap into the Litany that gives +2 to charges for an effective +3

Aggressors clear a big-bada-boom hole in the chaff and then go lumbering in alongside the Chaplain and VVs, and all 3 units get to re-roll charges and get +3 to the roll.

This isn't legal.

The Canticle of Hate specifically states that it doesn't stack with any other charge roll bonus. +2 is the most you can get.

A rare example of GW spotting an exploitable rule. If it did stack you could get +4 to charge rolls if you played Raptors with Hungry for Battle and Lias Issodon.

Blood Angels could get +5 if it stacked with Quickening.

Good catch. Not only was I wrong, I completely mixed up my strats (Raven's Blade and Strike From the Skies) into one - oops. I always just use Catechism of Fire

GW is only thorough with rules when it limits close combat.  If it is for shooting you can stack rules on top of rules like a Russian doll.

Apparently the difference between the free and paid version is how many recipes you can save and a wishlist function

So after the minor set back yesterday got the warsuit highlighted enough for TT standard

Down to 2 scouts left now and the event is next weekend :tu:

Well I thought I had finally finished my army so I took some family pictures. However I failed to think about how my camouflaged army does in its natural environment... So excuse the potato cam photos :ermm:

As you may have noticed I over looked the Lts base before the shoot... So I took care of him afterwards ;)

Funnily enough that wasn't the only thing I forgot. When I was packing everything away for the evening I noticed I had forgotten my all stairs! My carbine Reivers!

So they're not in the t pictures nor were they based. They will be by the end of the weekend though

Might even get a practice game in before the event :o

Ummm... So had a practice game against bugs this afternoon

Learnt a lot about my list (or more a lot of what I didn't know  )

But also learnt assault Doctrine also applies to Marines without an actual close combat weapon, what!? :o

I haven't slipped passed the Tactical Doctrine yet, but yeah totally looking forward to getting to a point I want my Aggressors and Centurions in the Assault Doctrine punching out tanks like the Hulk Buster.

How were the Nids? Aggressors are the perfect counter to them with Long Range Marksmen imo.

Have I mentioned I'm a fan of Aggressors?
