I need to take some better pictures of this guy, not only on the black background but also on a white background. I'm having a little trouble getting him to stay firmly on his base (my own damn fault for doing a scenic base). But he is done.

Thanks chaps!

And yeah I have already pinned him. But he doesn't seem to want to play ball. He looks flat footed but underneath his feet is just this hotch potch of varying surfaces due to the dreadnought arm and the base.

Hopefully I will figure something out!

This is the best version I've seen of Magnus, by far. They should use your version on GW's site, sales would skyrocket.

And I love his face. He looks like he's outstreching his hand to recieve change, but the Daemon cashier places in on the counter instead.

This is my favorite rendition of Magnus to date! loving the color scheme and i think blending is very nicely done. The black horns on the helmet were a great touch, i think white would have made it to bright with the already bright armor (which i thinks spot on). The base is something else with the fire ball rising. Great job all round :)

That Magus is looking absolutely incredible -- and arguably superior to the 'Eavy Metal version: I love how your version is actually more red than pink, and you have added some incredibly cool touches (such as the brilliant, crystalline effect on the feathers). I am also really happy that you went with the black eye on Magus' palm! And the ball of warp energy above his glaive works much better in your version as well.

In some ways, it's actually a shame that all that armour covers up so much of the gloriously painted skin -- but that's not really a problem with your painting.

Oh, and the lava on the base is absolutely delightful -- I might have to try and replicate that effect (in my own, primitive way).

Anyway, stellar work! :)

Thanks Kraut!

I am glad you like it, and I think the work I have put into him has paid off. I'm happy with everything on him apart from his armour. I like the colour choice I decided with, but I don't think I did the details enough justice. I am not complaining, I just like to find things to improve upon, and I think my metallics need improving. I am much better at NMM than using metal paint. It's just that NMM takes ages! :D

Excellent job, Tzen, really top drawer.

If you're looking for things to improve I think the highlights on the big, black horns look a bit wonky in places and the Dreadnought arm could perhaps be a little better integrated into the base, but those are small quibbles. I'd have neither the confidence nor the patience to try and tackle such a huge, detailed model.

Thanks Sock! :D

I plan on doing a little touch up work over the next few days and taking some better pictures! The dread arm actually has an icicle hanging off it but you can't see from the angle of the pics :(

Glad you like though, just glad when anyone likes anything I've painted! :D

I was asked for some pictures on a white background so I thought I would share them here too.

As an aside, here is a Terminator I quickly mocked up for how I want to use the new Thousand Sons paints whilst also staying fairly true to the darker blue colour scheme.

It's not exactly the finished article, but yeah, just thought i'd share! :D
