Well, I've decided on my first list. Multiples of 3 is a common pattern, 3k:

HQ

Valdor 275pts

Tribune w. Shield, Paragon Spear, Cyber-Familiar, Digital Lasers 275pts

TROOPS

6x 3-man Custodian Guard squads with melta bombs 1080pts

FAST ATTACK

3x 3-man Agamatus Jetbike Squad with melta bombs & devestators 765pts

HEAVY SUPPORT

3x Caladius tanks w. accelerator cannon 585pts

The plan is to deploy the tanks and jetbikes and then deep strike the other units to get them up the board.

The Tribune is a "hidden" gem. Paragon Spear combined with cyber-familiar and shield means he loses +1 str on the charge (still S6) but gets a 3++ re-rollable. Yum.

Can you hold spear and shield....?

Can you hold spear and shield....?

You can, but you lose the spears charge bonus. It matters more with a standard spear that gives you +1S and ap2 instead of 3, but with the paragon spear you have +1S and ap2 standard. All you lose is an extra strength point on the charge, which is totally worth it for a re-rollable 3++ and -1 to hit for enemies in base contact.

Ehhh the shield says you can't use a two handed weapon...

The spears are not two handed weapons, merely specialist weapons. The rules for the shield even mentions how it works in combination with a spear, which is exactly how I wrote earlier.

Yeah, they seem to have replaced the experimental Guardian spear's Two Handed rule with Specialist Weapon. Means spear & shield is a legit combination (and rightly so - it's super fluffy).

As cool as the Tribune is, why take him as well as Valdor? I'd go for either/or.

Valdor will be my go to HQ due to his warlord trait. However, my standard Tribune build puts out so much damage at I6 while being tanky enough to run as a solo missile unit while Valdor require more care. I guess I just saw him having enough potential to warrant getting him over another MSU squad.

Another option is 3 Hetaeron guards w. paragon blades and shields for 285pts. 9 wounds over 4 with EW, however 2+/rr5++ instead of a rr3++, 12 S6ap2 attacks at WS5/I5 vs 7 S6ap2 attacks at WS6/I6.

I think a single fist is a good option. It's a handy way to get through Feel No Pain. Custodes are tough enough to comfortably challenge and strike last. The Paragon Blades can get around Feel No Pain on a 6. It depends on if you are happy to trade initiative for strength really.

With fists you can punch Dreadnoughts to death.

I couldn't see rules for the Heavy Dreadnought in the current leak.

Gorgoff, don't you think that's a bit risky as the dread could happily instant kill those 95 point models in combat? I'd rather shoot it first, then charge in and melta it if it isn't dead

How does everyone rate the current models that are out from FW compared to what's coming?

As in do you think the Pallas is worth getting or better to wait for the jetbikes?

Get the Calladius with the accelerator cannon or get the one with the Arachnus blaze cannon?

Get the non-assaulty transport or just deep strike with teleporters?

I think the Sagittarum bolter guys sound great so will get some of them when they drop.

There's links to the entire list in page 2.

That being said it seems they missed some wargear's rules like the illiastus bolt cannon on the jetbikes

Oh I missed that those didn't have a profile. Is it the same as the caladius from fw download?

They all seem to be effective for what they do.

What you would want should depend on your needs and when they are specific Excel will be there for you :)

Yea same here. Thats why I asked because of the two dread types listed in the leak, none seem to fit with the heavy dread, which is odd since they are showing a ready model, but no rules?

If we're talking about the same hetaeron squad, you can't damage it with a paragon blade loadout, (shooting or melee) and are relying on str 8 ap ap 1 amourbane. You get 4 times the amount of attacks with str 10 ap 1 on the charge. the shields make you way hard to hit and you have better than a 4++. Also they're cheaper than the comparative paragon blade squads.

jet bikes

So the Hetaeron guard can take a paragon blade but not a paragon spear.

Seems a typo... Perhaps?

Also wording on the Spear Contemptor implies that if you roll one 6 to hit, ALL of it's attacks are D strength O.O
